Character: Sebastian Shaw
Power and Abilities: Shaw has the ability to absorb kinetic energy in all its forms. With the absorbed energy, Shaw's strength, speed, stamina, and durability all are raised to superhuman levels. Shaw can absorb the energy from his enemies' strikes, bullets, throwing weapons, and explosions. Shaw has a harder time absorbing energy blasts, but has shown the ability to do so in certain situations. Sebastian has a limit to this absorption, however. If he reaches his energy limit, he runs the risk of passing out.
Shaw's energy absorption has also extended his life. Over his long lifespan, Shaw has gained immense wealth, and uses it to fund some of his schemes along with The Legion's.

Background and Story So Far:
Sebastian Shaw was born in the early 1900s in Pittsburgh to the industrialist owner of Shaw Steel. He grew up in the lap of luxury, at least until his mutant powers began to manifest. The elder Shaw was scared when his son began demonstrating super strength and speed, and instead of finding out what his son was, he preferred to shuttle the "problem" off to boarding school after boarding school. Sebastian learned to hate his father, but gaining the best education money could buy helped shape the younger Shaw's mind into the weapon it is today. Sebastian was one of the smartest minds of his generation, and received a scholarship to Oxford. Sebastian attempted to patch his relationship with his father up before traveling to England, but it was to no avail. The elder Shaw once again denounced his son as an abomination and told him to leave. Instead, Shaw murdered his father, staging it as an accident, and took control of the company.
While studying in the UK, Shaw leveraged the recently finished World War I and its destruction to gain wealth with his company's steel. The industrialist's wealth continued to roll in as he gained several doctorates from Oxford. He returned to the United States a new man and one of its richest. He began growing his sphere of influence while also researching his mutant lineage. This line of questioning eventually led Shaw to a meeting that would change his life.
On a trip to the Middle East, Shaw met a shadowy figure known only as "The Shadow". Whatever transpired between Shaw and the Shadow, the mutant industrialist faked his own death and began working behind the scenes to influence the world's direction from behind the scenes. Forming The Legion, Shaw began surrounding himself with the smartest and most diabolical people in the world. They worked towards forcing the world into their own vision, and members were replaced constantly until the right balance was struck.
Working behind the scenes, Shaw and his cohorts have helped create HAMMER and lead it into confrontations with the heroes of the world, drawing their attention away from the Legion's plans. They are now working on accelerating their plans and destroying all that stand in their way.

The Legion's meeting place was quiet. Its members had just been seated and were quietly milling about with one another. Sebastien Shaw had no desire to sit and talk with these people. To him, they were tool to be used in an end goal. They were not friends. They were not colleagues. They were weapons that needed to be pointed in the right direction to destroy his enemies. Once that was done, they would be killed as well, and the world would be born anew in the fires of change and evolution. The planet was ripe for change, and he would be the one to usher it in.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Shaw spoke up, quieting the others down, "it's time to get this meeting underway."
"Shall we bow to you, too?" Baron Mordo, the group's mystical practitioner, asked sardonically.
"Is there a problem, Baron?" Shaw folded his hands and raised an eyebrow.
Cheetah spoke up next, "Possibly. We're sitting here without the Justice League in custody like you promised."
Shaw held back a snarl. His plan to incite a situation between Khandaq and Latveria in order to have the world turn on the Justice League had not turned out the way he had expected. The League along with the SHIELD sponsored Avengers stopped the situation before it could escalate. The hero teams were celebrated and hailed as saviors. It was the opposite of what he wanted, but he could not worry about that now. There were other plans to put in motion.
"An oversight, I admit," Shaw smiled. "But I have something new that should excite us all.
