Yea. I've been MIA and sucking it up lately. Posts WILL be up this weekend. back from vacation, relaxed, and ready to get back to work here.
Glad to hear y'all are still with me. Will have posts up this weekend.
So where did everyone go?

Midtown High

Usually I'm not sore after a night of taking down some creeps, but the Sandman really beat the tar outta me. I wince as I close my locker and swing my bag onto my back. It's not easy to be a crime fighter at night and a high school nerd during the day. To be honest there's constantly someone trying to take me down. Sure, here it's just for lunch money, but still. It gets old.

"You see Spidey take on that freak!?" Flash Thompson's voice explodes from the other end of the hall. Quarterback of the football team, homecoming king, and boyfriend of Liz Allen, the most popular girl in school, Flash is basically the king of the school. He had also been a thorn in my side, that is until recently. The two of us were friends when we were young, back when Flash was Eugene Thompson, but he became too cool for me and turned me into "Puny Parker". We've patched things up recently, which is mostly because he thinks Spidey, who he basically worships, is my friend. But I'm not getting stuffed into lockers anymore, so I'll take it. "Man there's no one that can beat Spider-man. Parker! You get any pictures of my main man last night?"

I've been giving Flash the pictures J. Jonah Jameson doesn't want. It's more or less protection money.

Oh, right. Jameson's my boss at the Daily Bugle, the best media site in New York. I'm the only one that can get even halfway decent pictures of Spider-man, so he pays me well for them. Sure, it's probably a little unethical, but you try and fund a superhero operation and have a girlfriend on the meager allowance Aunt May gives me.

"Yea, Flash," I respond with a shrug. "I'm going to see Jameson after school today. I'll give you what he doesn't want tomorrow, okay?"

"You better," he slaps me on the back as he walks by. I pretend to topple over, selling the strength of the big man on campus. That may be the hardest thing I've had to do since becoming Spider-man. I'm stronger, faster, and more agile than anyone in the school by a large margin. But the Peter Parker before that time was clumsy, awkward, and weak as a kitten. Trying to balance both lives has never been easy, but playing the flimsy nerd is definitely the most difficult.

"Need a hand," Gwen asks as she comes up beside me, helping me up. As I get to my feet, she pulls me in and whispers into my ear, "Way to play that off."

"Thanks, I try my best."

"You okay?" she looks at me with a worried look. "You didn't call when you got back last night."

"Yea, sorry," I shrug. "It took me forever to get the sand out of my suit."

She continues looking at me. Clearly I'm in trouble for giving the sarcastic answer. Classic Parker.

"Can we talk later?" I protest. "Probably not the best place for this discussion."

"Sure," she shakes her head as we head to class.

Daily Bugle Building
Manhattan

I rock gently back and forth in the chair outside J. Jonah Jameson's office. Stopping a bank robbery? Easy. Going up against a super villain? Piece of cake. But having to deal with JJ? That is my ultimate fear. Jameson's picture is next to the word intense in the dictionary. I'm pretty sure he could give Walter White intensity lessons. Godzilla would yell, "J. Jonah Jameson!" if JJJ went to Tokyo.

You get the idea.

Sitting across from me is the stunning Betty Brant. Betty's a college student at Empire State University, and Jameson's secretary. Smart, witty, and beautiful, she was the reason I have this job to begin with. She had seen my pictures when I first came into the Bugle, and insisted Jameson use them. The simple fact that she stood up for him made me adore her. Sure, it is just a crush, but it is one I'd never even consider mentioning to Gwen. No reason to make her jealous over nothing, right?

"Giant sand monster," Betty strikes up small talk. "That's a new one, huh?"

"Yea," I respond sheepishly. "I didn't get there though. All I got were a few of Spidey."

"Ohhhh, Pete," she says sympathetically. "You know he's not gonna be happy about that one."

I smile, "Is he ever happy about anything?"

"PARKER!" Jameson's voice booms from his office. "GET IN HERE!"

"Good luck," Betty coos as I pass by her.

JJ snaps his fingers at me as I enter, pointing to his desk. I slip the pictures out of the envelope and plop them down in front of him, "Awful. Crap. Terrible. This one's okay."

"Mr. Jameson, I was hoping I could get a little more-"

"Ha!" the man exclaims as he chomps down on a cigar. "Parker you slay me. Now agree to the same price and get outta here. I just found out my wife 'borrowed' my credit cards this morning and I have to catch her before I come home and have another one of my walk-in humidor converted into a walk-in closet! You gonna give me the picture of the masked menace or not!?"

Jameson hates me. Well, he hates the Spider-man side of me. I've yet to understand why, but I don't care much. He knows I sell papers, so I continue to have a paycheck a few times a week.

"Sure, Mister Jameson," I nod. "See you in a few days."

I leave the office, and as I do, Betty laughs, "Didn't get that raise again?"

"Nope."

"Better luck next time, Pete," she smiles sweetly.

Atlantic Ocean
Above Atlantis

The small yacht rocked back and forth as the small swells of the ocean caressed its hull. The trip to Atlantis's waters was an easy one, though Diana kept herself aware at all times. An attack from Ares and Hera's forces could come from any angle at any time, a fact that was certainly beginning to wear on Diana's nerves. The battles would come sometime soon, and she needed to keep her senses sharp and aware. But for now, she had to convince Orin that the time had come for them to draw swords together yet again to protect the world.

"So Atlantis is really down there, huh?" Cassie was amazed as she peered over the side of the boat into the shimmering green water below. The council of Amazons had not wanted the girl to come along on such an important assignment, but Diana insisted. She was a daughter of Zeus and an Amazon in training. There was no other person that Wonder Woman wanted by her side on this journey to the depths. "How did it survive."

"It's believed Poseidon protected his people as the city sunk to the depths," Diana explained as she took a seat next to the young girl. "His magic sustained them and has kept them thriving this entire time. They have harnessed the magics of the ocean to create a powerful society. I have fought with their King Orin in the past."

"Do you think he will agree to help us?" Cassie met Diana's eyes.

It wasn't an easy question to answer. Orin was a hero of the highest order, that much was certain. The man, however, was no fan of the surface world. He had clashed with some of the other heroes in the Justice League on occasions about what the humans were doing to the sea. If he didn't see a threat to his people or his domain, there was a chance he would not join them in their struggle against Olympus and Ares. She returned Cassie's stare, hoping to seem confident, "I do not know, but Orin is an honorable man and a warrior. I have faith we will be able to convince him to join our cause."

"I should have joined debate team," the teenage demigod muttered.

Wonder Woman stood and stood proudly over the water's edge, calling to the King of Atlantis, "Orin of Atlantis, Diana of the Amazons calls to you for a parlay. I require access to Poseidonis."

As she finished speaking, the sea in front of the boat began swirling into a whirlpool. It started as a small torrent, before it escalated into a churning funnel of furious white water. From the center of the cone emerged a large chariot pulled by two massive great white sharks. The chariot parked itself next to the boat, and Diana turned to Cassie, "Come, young one. It's time to see the world beyond the waves."
Wonder Woman post up tomorrow. I swear.

Earth's orbit

Clark floated through space towards the Watchtower, admiring how beautiful his adopted home really was from up here. Zod had tried so hard to get Clark to turn against the people that had raised him in order to rule them. Of course Clark never considered it, and how could he? This world was a gem in the cosmos, and he would make sure that it would stay that way. This was his planet to protect, and now he had a team that could help him do that. The Justice League were the most powerful people in the world, and they would defend the people of the planet with their lives if they had to. Clark was content with his place in the Universe, even if it was a grueling one.

"Watchtower, this is Superman," he said into his commlink. "Open the hangar bay doors."

"Affirmative, Kal Zod,' BRAINIAC's mechanical voice responded. "Welcome home."

Clark smiled and shook his head. BRAINIAC was the Kryptonian AI that controlled the ship's higher functions and allowed J'onn to focus on keeping an eye on Earth. BRAINIAC was also one of the few links Superman had to his Kryptonian homeworld. Though much of what Clark had learned was horrifying, but he also learned about the technological feats which his people managed to create at their time on top of the galaxy. At least there was something to be proud of.

He had also learned his mother Lara was part of that scientific advancement. She came to him through BRAINIAC somehow, and only at certain times. She gave him advice, and said she always hoped he would redeem the Kryptonians rather than continue their path of destruction. She was proud of him, and while he'd never really know her, that meant something to him. At least there was one other Kryptonian he could be proud of.

The Watchtower's bottom half cracked open like a glowing egg as the landing bay opened. Clark glided in, landing comfortably next to the one remaining Kryptonian dropships, dubbed the Javelin by Clark and J'onn. The other two had been destroyed during the fight with the Kryptonian Army. They had been doing their best to collect the pieces so the alien technology didn't fall into the wrong hands, but it was slow going and Clark was sure a good amount had most likely found its way onto the black market. They'd have to deal with that eventually, but for now it wasn't a major issue.

"Welcome aboard, sir," BRAINIAC said, one of his physical modules floated up next to Superman. BRAINIAC was everywhere on the ship, and he had small, floating, physical pods he could control to talk to people directly. "I have made headway in getting the weapon systems dismantled."

"Good job, BRAINIAC," Clark smiled at the little robot. "How much longer?"

"I hope to have it done in a few months," the bot bobbed. "Emperor Zod's firewalls were powerful."

Clark passed into the control room, where he found J'onn sitting in the seat that allowed him to monitor the Earth. Clark had tried to get the Martian to spend more time on the planet's surface and to assimilate, but he had been reluctant. Clark figure he felt awkward around the new people, but Superman was certain he could get J'onn to relax a bit eventually.

"I have been trying to track that Kryptonian but have been unable to do so," he said in a deep, booming voice.

"Don't worry about it, I'm sure he'll show up again," Clark took the seat next to him. "You know you should probably not watch this all the time. The people don't like it."

"Yes, well, it helps me learn," he responded, not breaking his gaze on the screen. "Wait."

"What?"

"The Raft...it's having a breakout," J'onn frantically began typing, bringing up the super max prison. The doors were automatically opening and freeing prisoners. "This is a high level cyber attack."

"Those guards don't stand a chance," Superman sighed. "I need to get down there."
Jean is definitely approved.

As for Daredevil...I dunno. The character just doesn't seem like Daredevil at all.
I'm super behind here. Hopefully will have some stuff up this weekend
