Diana's chains clanged off the hard coral that formed the floor of her cell as she struggled against the bonds. Next to her, Cassandra sat calmly, staring at the wall of the prison, "So this is terrible."

"I have been in tougher situations," Diana gritted her teeth and pulled on the chains yet again.

"Would you stop, it's clearly not going to do anything," Cassie sighed.

"True," Diana nodded. "I'm merely wasting my strength."

"So who was fishface back there?" Cassie asked while kicking a small shell between her feet. It was a moment like this that Diana realized how young her half-sister was. She was but a girl, now facing a tidal wave of gods and heroes. Yet here she sat, defiant and proud like any young Amazon would beside her. There was more to her than met the eye, and in the end Diana knew that would prove invaluable. "Didn't seem to be much of a fan of yours. Or mine. I guess."

"Orm is the traitorous brother of Orin," Diana allowed the venom to flow in her words. "He has attempted to overthrow the king's rule several times, and has attacked the surface world as well. He is a powerful sorcerer, and he has seemingly struck a deal with our enemies that gives him both the crown and significant power over the rest of the earth."

"Sounds like a fun guy," Cassie scoffed.

As the two shared a small, sisterly smile, they heard a commotion outside their cell. Fighting raged on the other side of the door, and a magical bolt slammed into the wall, crumbling the coral and causing the door to slam to the ground. Two of Orm's guards were thrown, unconscious, into the cell. As the dust settled, a young Atlantean stepped into the cell, brandishing weapons made of what looked like solid water.

"My name is Kaldur'ahm," he said in a deep, confident voice. "Come with me. My King needs your assistance."

At this point Thomas'd be juuuust returning to Gotham, not yet Owlman. And in my vision, he's Bruce's cousin. But hey, I'd like him to work, so, take what room you need.

Byrd says he's not comfortable with it, and more than that your track record with sticking with characters isn't stellar. I won't approve it. Sorry man.

Is webcomics cool?I wanna use the character

I was hoping to keep it to published characters. But once the OOC goes up I'd be more than happy to consider the character after seeing a character sheet.

I'm tempted to join, if so I would do Spawn (Al Simmons). Although I've got exams coming up so I might be busy.

This will be always accepting, so feel free to join up when you feel you have time.

Surprised you didn't mesh Charmed or Supernatural comics for a bit of the supernatural bits, there, Henry.Anyway Gowi-thinktank:Witchblade.Something in the TMNT continuity, still digging through old comics I own for inspiration, though I want to leave Henry to his own development too.Tomb Raider.Currently digging through publications for ideas.

I know nothing about Charmed and very little about Supernatural, which is why I left them out. All those ideas sound great to me. DM me if you have any TMNT questions.

I'm not trying to be a stickler here, but isn't the LoEG an imprint of a DC imprint? Or something along those lines? I mean, I'm all for their inclusion, I'm just curious as to how much "Imprint" stuff we're permitted to bring in, along with things such as G.I. Joe which were published by "The Big 2" but in their own self-contained universes/moved on to a new publisher. On a slightly less related note, no love for The Fraternity? We just talked about this, man. *Cries to self in a corner* Unless of course I'm building the Lore for them, in which case that makes more sense.

I'm saying Imprints counts as Indies. As long as they're not included in the Marvel/DC universes they're good to go.

And yea, I was gonna leave the Fraternity up to you
Here's a quick run down of some of the universe's history. Still a work in progress. Let me know if anyone things things should be added.

Earth’s History

Since the birth of time the Earth was a battle ground between good and evil; between heroes and villains. The earliest of these heroes was Conan the Barbarian, who wandered the ancient plains battling his enemies and becoming the most powerful warrior of old. Evil also crept into the world during this time as well. Monsters and demons crossed from their plane of existence to ours. In order to combat them, men of the ancient times bound the powers of a demon to a young girl, creating the first Slayer, and a lineage that would continue as long as evil existed.

As time went on, others emerged, such as Solomon Kane, who made it his mission to eradicate dark forces on the planet. It was around this time that the first League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was formed by the British Crown in order to protect the world and the British Isles. The team would form and disband many times as time progressed, with many eccentric and powerful characters serving on it. The fabled ninja clan The Foot became a powerful force in Japan in this era.

The Earth’s move towards today’s super powered present at a greater speed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this time, the longest tenured League of Extraordinary Gentlemen fought off the first supervillain in Doctor Fu Manchu, as well as others. But the biggest change came when the Earth experienced its first alien invasion, as large tripods landed in the English countryside. They were eventually stopped by the League, as well as a biological weapon. The weapon also killed the majority of the witnesses to the invasion, allowing the government to mount a full-scale cover up. This betrayal led to the League disbanding.

This progress continued as World War II erupted. Hitler and his occult fanaticism drove the mad dictator to search the world, and other worlds, for anything that would let his rule last forever. Thanks to the efforts of Henry “Indiana” Jones, Hitler was denied the Ark of the Covenant as well as the Holy Grail. But that is not all Jones denied the Fuhrer. On a remote island off the coast of Britain, Jones accompanied Professor Trevor Bruttenholm and a contingent of soldiers to stop a Nazi plan to release a demon upon the Earth. Hitler’s occult priest Rasputin managed to open a portal to another plane, but was stopped by the Allied forces. Rasputin was sucked into the portal, but something managed to make its way over to their side as well. The small, infant demon was discovered by the Professor and named “Hellboy” by the troops. After the discovery of Hellboy, Bruttenholm and Jones formed the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, dedicated to protecting the world from “the things that go bump in the night”.

After the war, the world began changing dramatically. Superpowered humans appeared in the decades that followed. The government did not know where they came from. Some speculated that they were experiments gone wrong, and others believed they were the next stage in human evolution. Most of these people hid their abilities in fear of what normal people may do to them. Others joined government initiatives to understand the phenomenon.

The super powered age exploded in the 80s, however, with the debut of the “superhero”. Costumed characters such as Omni-Man began patrolling the earth and fighting crime and super villainy. The trend continued for a decade and a half until the world governments decided it needed to be regulated. They created the Global Defense Agency, and publicly claimed it was to reign in the superhuman population, but in reality it was designed to work with the superheroes. Each hero was given a government contact they had to report findings and movements to said agents. Around the same time, the team known as GI Joe was formed to combat terrorism. They clashed with the terrorists Cobra Command, and MI6 battled with the group known as SPECTRE.

The world spun on until our story started…

Events so far…

-The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles emerge from the sewers and begin exploring the surface world. They fight the New York mob from the shadows, leading the mob to extort scientist Baxter Stockman into using his Mouser robots to track the Turtles down. This ends in a standoff with the Turtles and Splinter fighting and defeating an army of Mousers. The family also deals with a rival mutant, an alley cat named Old Hob, and his street gang. The Foot begin appearing in the city in the latter part of the year. The first skirmishes end in Turtle victories, until the Shredder appears, turning the tide. The Foot now look to exert their power over the other criminal groups in the city in order to take it over. During the year the Turtles befriend college students April O’Neil and Casey Jones, as well as the vigilante street gang known as the Purple Dragons.

-Hellboy and the BPRD tangle with a resurrected Rasputin and his cult followers. The insane sorcerer plans to use Hellboy’s right hand to unleash the Ogdru Jahad, the seven dragons of the apocalypse, to destroy the world and remake it in his vision. The plan nearly succeeds, but the spell over the red demon is broken, allowing Hellboy to lock the gate once again, and kill Rasputin once and for all.

-The superhero calling himself Invincible debuts and fights the fallen hero Omni-Man.

-James Bond foils several plots by SPECTRE to destabilize the world’s governments.

-GI Joe stops Cobra from obtaining a bio weapon capable of destroying vast amounts of human life.

Smallville, KS

A cloud of dust rolled up the driveway as Johnathan Kent's old truck came to settle into the familiar divets it had dug into the dirt path over the years of use. The doors of the truck swung open with a creek, and the Kents stepped out, and behind them jumped Lucy, the new dog Clark had helped train over the summer. The pup scrambled excitedly over the dirt and grass in front of the Kent house and leaped into Clark's arms, licking his face, "Okay, Luce. Okay. Okay."

Clark laughed and put the dog back on the ground before embracing his parents.

"Clark, what are you doing here?" his mother asked after an embrace. "You didn't call. Is everything alright?"

Superman smiled, "Of course. I just needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for a little bit."

"Also need to get away from super villain prison breaks?" his father raised an eyebrow.

"Those are easy," Clark winked. "Metropolis traffic? That's the killer."

The family sat down for a cup of tea, and Clark took in the smell of his childhood home. It was like a calming drug to his stressed out mind. He and J'onn had spent days attempting to find where the cyber attack on the Raft had originated, but had come up empty handed. Even BRAINIAC seemed unable to find an explanation for it. Nothing about the incident sat right with Clark, and the fact that Fury hadn't contacted him yet didn't sit right either. There seemed to be a cyber genius on Clark's tail and no one could figure out who it was.

"You can lie all you want," Johnathan said, looking over his glasses at his son. "But I can tell when something's eating at you."

"It's the prison break," Clark sighed. "Or more to the point whoever is behind it."

"So you don't know?" His mother put her teacup down. The look she had always given him when she was worried about his life as a crimefighter crossed her face. He always hated having these kinds of talks with her. His father seemed able to take it, but his mother always got pale, and said little. Telling her that he had no idea who was releasing his enemies from prison made things even worse. "Do you have any ideas?"

"Luthor, I'm sure," Pa Kent seethed.

"At first, I figured that's who did it," Clark nodded. "But nothing leads back to him. Not even Luthor is this thorough."

Ma got up and left the room, and before Clark could go and follower her, Pa put his hand on his son's shoulder to sit him down, "Best just let her go, boy. She'll be fine."

"I shouldn't have told her," Clark shook his head. "All I ever do is worry her."

"She's proud of you, son. We both are," he smiled. "We know it's dangerous. But we also both know the world itself would be a whole lot more dangerous without you. I know you're having problems now. But you'll figure it out. You always have."

Clark had to smile. His father always had unwavering faith in him. Clark wasn't always sure it was well placed, but if nothing else it made him feel better about his current situation. For that, he was thankful for his father, "Thanks, dad."

The Killer vs Snake Eyes and or Storm Shadow is now a requirement in this RP.It will happen.Assuming Lizard League is where the Cobra Command ended up.

I just realized I forgot freaking COBRA on the list.

Also adding SPECTRE.
I don't see why not. Here's the teams/orgs I thought of off the top of my head for this:

Good

Global Defense Agency – A global organization that secretly works with superhumans to protect the world.
GI Joe – A worldwide anti-terrorist organization.
Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense – An organization dedicated to defending the world against paranormal threats.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – A group rumored to patrol the streets of New York.
MI6 – British intelligence agency. Has formed a team of extraordinary people to defend the country in times of need.
The Watcher’s Council – An ancient organization dedicated to rooting out evil on the planet along with serving and training the Vampire Slayer. The current slayer is teenager Buffy Summers.
The Autobots – The remnants of the Army of Cybertron, the Autobots now scour the universe for a new home while continuing their fight against the evil Decepticons.

Evil

Cobra Command – An eccentric band of international terrorists and super villains which use a snake/lizard motif
The Foot – An ancient ninja clan. Led by the mysterious Oroku Saki, they have come to New York to secure goals yet unkown.
The Decepticons – Villainous and traitorous Decepticons attempted to seize control of the planet Cybertron and the Cybertronian Empire. Their war with the Autobots ended up destroying their homeworld and scattering the Transformer people across the stars.
SPECTRE -- International terrorist organization who often clashes with James Bond.

I'm sure we'll have more to add to the list once we get going.

Hmmm. What would differentiate them from your average Crim Syndicate of America in that instance, since obviously superheroes are still, well, around? Also if you don't keep Fuckwit and Shit-Head as a thing somewhere I will be greatly saddened.Though I will need to have an internal debate as to whether or not to have Wesley still be a member of The Fraternity. I will probably have to give him emotions though. Something about playing a completely amoral super criminal who just does shit for the lelz not named Wade just doesn't tickle my fancy, kidding, of course, but I will have to think on Wes for a bit.

I could easily go the other way with it. My preliminary plan was to use them as a sort of Legion of Doom, but I can plug in a different group for that

Indeed.Though on a slightly more serious note, what did you have in mind for the Fraternity? Would it be more the "Assassins of Fate" like the film version, or the "Supervillains Incorporated" from the comics? If we get a Spawn or Haunt, I've got a neat idea or two in mind for them.

I was leaning towards the Supervillains Inc
