I can guarantee you that your shard exists, right now (RP time). There is literally no way that it does not. Nothing any of us can do can change the fact that the shard exists in some form somewhere in Existence at this very moment.
How do you know that? Also, it could be a situation where time travel is easier than getting the now version, for whatever reason.
