Those people who actually post their status in status updates are a part of a very small minority. One that I'm not a part of.

Even if you can end up reducing those human rights?

It can’t.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

Dane: I'm not exactly quiet. Im just not speaking. The sheer ammount of knowlwedge one can gain from just a fickle thing as listening is astounding.

Fair, but that depends on how not stupid the people you’re listening to are.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

How do you know that for sure?

The basic human rights come before the privileges.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

But if they don't improve because you meddled? When they would have been better off if you didn't get involved?

<Snipped quote by Balance>

Most places I go seem to be pretty accepting of people who are interested in them and their lives.

Life without tyranny is a direct improvement, even if it’s anarchy.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

Eh. I never quite recovered from the one I had a long time ago, but I’m nowhere near the edge, now.

<Snipped quote by Fractured>

Yeah, you probably have the right idea. We go an extra mile or so to immerse ourselves in some of the cultures. We can’t do all of them, obviously, but some.

So there is a bit loose up there, then? Think I cracked the case.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

I think that still makes it your fault.

It can’t be the fault of the only party directly moving toward improvement. That just makes no sense.

Has the quiet one decided to chime in?
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

If you're the direct cause of their lives getting worse because you meddled in their life...

It wouldn’t be direct. It’d be their fault for squandering opportunity.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

Does it make you responsible if things go awry?

I don’t see how it would.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

That's always the question with helping others. How far does your obligation go after you help them?

It’s volunteer work. All I would want to do is create the opportunity for them to do it themselves. And again and again if need be.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>

What about the power vacuum that would create? You might end up with someone even worse taking the reins.

Right. That’s why I said if I had my way. But I know what kind of damage that could cause.
