Bio

I live somewhere in the wilds of East London with a couple of friends, a pet rat and a collection of RPG books that is slowly consuming our house. I've suggested possibly getting rid of some of them, but it's pretty much got to the point where the books are the only thing keeping the building upright and if I move any of them the whole thing could come crashing down.

In terms of games - well, I'll consider anything, except that. As can probably be gathered from my posts, I find myself generally playing characters that let me bit a little bit light-hearted. I am reasonably certain that I can play serious characters, but I know that getting to post things which makes me chuckle as I write them keeps me far more engaged. I like fandom-y things (because I can't, apparently, still get enough Undertale, Adventure Time and various Nintendo stuff, good job brain), and non-fandom-y things, and will one day get around to rebooting a RP I'd made on here seven years ago.

@TaliPaendrag Your image for your appearance does not seem to be working for me. It could just be an issue on my end but I was pull your link through quoting your post. I copied the link from there and pasted it directly into my browser and it worked.

It's because the link between the img tags isn't to an image file, so browsers get all foncused by it. I'm not sure whether or not DeviantArt allows for hotlinking (you could put orig01.deviantart.net/d670/f/2007/300/.. in between a pair of img tags and find out, I guess), but it's probably better to just have a link to the page with the image on it so that the author gets credit and love for it.

It's a neat picture too!
Post is (mostly) up, I'm going to be stuck indoors for most of today without much to do, so I might throw out some more posts if anyone else is around. As is usual for me, the weekend is probably going to wind up being quite busy (I got invited out to lunch!), but I'll make sure to check things in the morning before I go out, and in the evening before I fall asleep.
With all the meaty joys and greasy horrors of the Henderson's Ribs behind them, the rather more inviting and significantly less crowded ship welcomed the crew back home. There was still a steady stream of ships coming and going, handled by a process that'd make any modern air traffic control operator wake up in the night, trembling and sweaty. To give the briefest of overviews and an indication of where management ought to be making changes, Henderson's Ribs licence for operating above the planet of Nurr-Sluggi does not grant them the right to track ships that are nearby due to security concerns. Officially, this meant that once a ship's location could not be tracked until it was safely docked at one of the air locks. The Customer Flow Management Team was forced to press their faces up against the glass of the control tower to get an idea of what was going on out there.

A voice crackled over the radio in the cockpit. It sounded stressed out and, in the background, a careful listener might be able to pick out the usual sounds of a Henderson's Ribs control tower. Which is, to say, shouting, screaming, swearing.

"This is Henderson's Ribs to Quest for Flavour at Dock 16. You have permission to... wait for it, wait for it, okay, go! Permission to undock! This window is available to you for another eighty six seconds, eighty five, eighty fou-"

It fell silent for a moment, then woke back up. A different voice came through, the original speaker could be heard making some sort of muffled protest.

"Apologies for the technical difficulties, Quest for Flavour, you are free to undock whenever you like. Please be aware that we are experiencing," a blood-curdling scream rang in the background that was cut abruptly short with a gurgle, "technical difficulties and we ask customers arriving or departing to take extra care on their journey today."

The ship was ready to go. The galaxy was their genetically modified bivalve mollusc.
I've already moved Vanessa onto the ship, so I'm more than happy to move onto the next chunk of story.

I'll wait until tomorrow morning (about 16 hours from now, give or take) to let others weigh in, then I'll make a decision one way or t'other and post.
One question @Hylozoist. Do we design our own rooms on board the Quest for flavour or are they already designed? Also, should we wait for you to move things along if the some important player characters are no shows?

@DepressedSoviet has it spot on, more or less; recent additions to the crew might very well be in the process of decorating their room to their tastes (or just living amongst the things left behind by the dead retired), while those who have been on board for a bit longer probably have things set up just how they like them. A trip to Space Ikea might be required at some point in the future, or maybe take a job on Soft Furnishings Planet (come for the prices, stay because it's so darned comfy).

As for moving things along if we're left waiting on people, I think that's a fair responsibility for me to have. I would like to get everyone on to the ship, and from there do a bit of what-people-do-on-the-ship while it travels through space. I don't think anyone would likely have a problem if I drew a curtain on the Henderson's Ribs scene and said that those that hadn't gone to the ship were now on the ship, but just in case there's any objections...

Are most people happy for me to draw the curtain on the Henderson's Ribs scene and move everyone in a ship-wardly direction?
I'll throw up a post later on today, or tomorrow morning, to establish a Ship AI as an NPC, which can provide a bit of information on Ofromia.

As Vonny has attended some of Zane Heron's parties before, I'm happy to say that any extra embellishments that @Sovi3t wishes to add are a-okay. As Bunz is on the planet too, if you (@Fancy Party) have anything that you think the planet really needs, bearing in mind what I've already sort of hinted at regarding the place, let me know and I'll throw it in.

Apologies for the general slow pace of my posting. I've been trying to draw up a tourist brochure to Ofromia, and it turns out my drawing skills aren't particularly up to much, so it looks less like an advert for an Art Deco inspired city and more like the scribbles of a child with too much sugar and not enough attention span. I've got a few errands to run this afternoon, but I'll poke my head by when I can this afternoon and tonight to answer any questions that might pop up.
Thank you for clearing that up. I will throw a reply up to you a little later. I want to see if someone else will post in the next little while.

No problem, and no need to feel rushed on my account. I'm usually just leaving this site open in another tab while I putter about in the kitchen, and so tend to post whenever I've got a minute or twenty to spare.

Time to think of jobs!
Could we do three teams of four? I'm thinking that, if we did have two teams of six, people could be waiting just over two weeks to get their post in (assuming that everyone else posts once every three days, that's fifteen days wait time), and that feels like quite a long time to potentially have to wait.
Speaking of ambiguity, I've changed a word in the post to make it a bit clearer, as re-reading it after drinking a cup of tea made me realise it might sound rather different from how I intended it. "I hope so" wasn't clear compared to "I hope not".
Two-One shrank back a little from Alexander's questioning, shuffling further back on the stool to try and put what little distance he could between them. He knew what his answer would be, but it probably not exactly what the man wanted to here. Feeling the edge of the stool with his feet, he snatched another look down at the fog, before twisting his head about to stare, with one eye, at Alexander. The plan, if it should come to that, was to take that final step backwards, tumble to the floor, and run.

"Honestly. I hope not. Haven't seen the oil come from me, still think correctly, but have never been taken apart to check," Two-One lowered his head, meekly, in an attempt to convey an apology of sorts, "so cannot be certain. Just hopeful. I do not want to be taken apart to find out. I do not want to take you apart to find out what is inside you either. We are in agreement?"
