Is this dead? Im interested...

It feels that way. There hasn't been any activity since I've submitted my character sheet for approval in the OOC. Shame really :/
Some inspirational music :)

Name: Kossara MacConagh /Mac to friends, Sara to family and close friends, some people have taken to calling her Doc/

Age: 36

Sex: Female

Nationality: The Reflection Isle

Class: Healer/shinobi-ninja style of combat

Physical Description:

For clothing reference... with slight changes. No quiver and arrows. Black metal gauntlets. Black metal shin guards. Comfortable boots. Optional cloak.

Kossara stands at the almost impressive 5'5, which is considered tall for the women of Reflection Isle. Not slight by any means, she is of medium build, very athletic and fit since she's been in and out of combat training from a very young age. Her hair is the darkest shade of honey blond and a little bit of unusual colour for a native of the Reflection Isle, with the deepest midnight blue eyes. Her facial features are somewhat aristocratic, but not delicate at all. With high cheekbones and slightly square chin she is quite handsome. An almost gentle scar is bisecting her chin, almost reaching bellow the lip. Her eyes carry a sadness that seems to pull back when she's caring for her patients and helping people. Then they take on a light that is almost enchanting with its healing warmth. Her back is riddled with whip scars with tendrils reaching the front of her shoulders and chest. She also has a prominent long and thick scar bisecting her stomach from bellow her waistline up to her sternum.

Fighting Style: Originally trained in the Reflection Isle's royal fighting style with a short sword, horseback riding, archery. Later on she adopts and masters the shinobi style of combat, using ninjato instead of katana, a tanto knife and kunai daggers as well as unarmed fighting styles. Also very proficient in stealth techniques.

Personality/Mental: Kossara was a boisterous happy child. Her homeland having resisted the conquering efforts of the Mar Empire was relatively safe and she was spared the hardships of war. Although being the daughter of the personal physician to the Lady of Reflection Isle, she did witness her fair share of gruesome battle injuries. Her childhood was spent learning the medicine arts from her mother and roughhousing with the Lady's children. She grew up into a caring and care giving young woman, determined to set wrongs right, cure illnesses, help people. Her later years and a very traumatic experience changed her but didn't manage to rid her of her innate goodness and desire to heal. On the contrary, it made her even more driven. Still she became more settled, lest boisterous, sometimes even withdrawn, pensive and prone to long hours of meditation and reflection. She is never the less ready to drop everything else and rush to offer help or support. She is not against combat and fighting, although she does prefer to disable her opponents without doing too much harm if at all possible.

@LadyTabris Woop :) I'll move her to the character tab. Thanks :D

I have a feeling I shouldn't realy post until the crew meets with Kossara unless you or someone else has any ideas. I'm open :)
Ok, since we're having some technical issues at the office let’s get this thing on :)

So... keeping in mind your suggestions and thanks for the quick response by the way... Here I go...

Edit upon completion: Sweet mother, I'm sorry, it turned out longer thant I expected, especially her history >.< Also... @LadyTabris I'm comfortable with your suggestion that she joins the crew from Arrylia where she was visiting with her mother and trying to convince her of the merits of eastern medicine. She would be agreeble to join since Mar represents danger to the Reflection Isle as well. Also... even though she's worked on ships a couple of years and is at ease on one, she is not a sailor per se and is the most comfortable with a lookout role aside from her healer position

OK, read the lore, the players' sheets and the captains sheet as well. As well as the beginning of the story :)

I have a fairly good picture of the world. I have some ideas about what I want my character to be. So of the top of my head and as a basic sketch... I would like her to be from the Reflection Isle, just because the idea of a ruling Lady appeals to my matriarchal sole *grin* Her mother would be the personal physician of the Lady of The Reflection Isle. Ever since she was very little she would have wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps and be a healer so her mother would have started training her in the arts of medicine early on. Also due to her mother's close relationship with the Lady, she would be very close with her daughter and son and often train with them in swordsmanship, archery, horse riding etc.

This is just the most basic of basics. To continue I would like to ask some more in-depth questions about the world.

1. How long ago would you say the Marran Empire conquered Arrylia? If the Reflection Isle is the only hold that resisted the Marran conquest are the two still at war with each other?

2. It's true that medicine in the 17th century isn't all that much but still we could say that there was western medicine /based on science and experimentation/ and eastern medicine /herbalism, acupuncture, a lil' bit of mysticism thrown in for good measure/. At some point in her history /I'm contemplating a traumatic event/ she would find herself rescued by a group of people with whom she will stay and learn eastern medicine. So here's the question. Would you say that the Reflection Isle could represent a "western country", and which of the countries in the world as you've envisioned it would represent an "eastern country"?

3. About the traumatic event. I was thinking at some point in her studies her mother would send her out as a healer on Reflection Isle merchant ships to expand her knowledge in emergency medicine. At one point the ship she serves on would be attacked /by who would be where I would need your help/ and forced to serve as medic on slaver ships and even often times forced to torture the slaves using her knowledge in anatomy and upon her ultimate and constant refusal she would be whipped and often beaten unto an inch of her life, left to tend to her own wounds. At this point she would meet her eastern saviors and a new leg of her journey would begin. I would like the rescuers to be akin to shinobi/ninja type of group with whom she would train in eastern medicine and also adopt their style of combat.

4. I am also not sure how to go about and have her end up as a candidate for the crew of the ship /should you approve my character in the first place :)/ She would be 35-something. Well past her wild years. Scarred both inside and out by her traumatic experience with the slavers. And as a healer at heart would be well removed from any activity that would cause harm. Although far from pacifistic and lawful, since she understands the demands of survival, she would be against any unnecessary and uncalled for injustice. In short, I would need some input on how to go about incorporating her into a merry band of pirates and ruffians, that have already set sail on top of that :)

Also she wouldn't be completely unfamiliar with sailing, because she would be raised on an island and due to her experience with serving as a doctor on the merchant ships, but as far as any other task on the ship that wouldn't pertain to her healer duties, she would be most comfortable as a lookout and I have an idea why :)

OK, I'll stop now, because if I write some more, I would actually have to write a complete character sheet :)
Oh, this looks very interesting... Before posting any kind of character sheet I would like to reed through the lore first. But I would just like to put it out there that I'll probably be aiming for the medic position /I would have to research 17th century medicine first *grin*/

Anyways, I'll get on it today after work. Hopefully I'll have a character ready soon :)
Disregard.
