I think Rilla mentioned something like this once when he was toying with the forced random teams tournament. Though something more like a spirit link that caused both combatants to lose when one was defeated seemed more practical.

Handcuffed and spirit linked are totally different.
I'm compiling together my list of characters to form a group made up of only my favorite characters. From there I'll pick and choose when they will get their turns to fight based on the best matchups. The list of who's invited into the club is a secret until they make their presence known. I might still fight with some characters not in the club from time to time if the mood hits me.

EDIT: I'm updating some of the character ratings in a word document I'm keeping track of everyone in so the character a day is a tad behind on certain characters. I now have 34 A ranks and 8 S ranks. Maybe I'll focus on a top 20 but pass over some if they are too similar in capabilities to another to add more variety. For example, I'm low on gun users of high rank so may skip down a bit or come up with more characters to fill the void.
I do, but I don't have to only use characters based off of her. :D

Speaking of which, Sweetie Evvie and Meanie Evvie, angel and demon versions of her, need to make an appearance as well! And then Teenie Evvie, a pocket sized version of her.
You know what would be really fun? A team battle where each side is handcuffed to each other.
I plan on a different character to better match the cyborgs capabilities.
Well Evie has faced some opponents a few different times. They can be folded into a persistant story.

Evie could probably take my character in a fight. If she let him live she'd have a nemesis. . .or not who knows.

Didn't she fight some bad guy of yours in a snowy place and she was totally going to kick his butt?

Any story involving Evvie and MelonHead involves her death so that's not much of a story...or is it?
I haven't been in any persistent universe lasting more then a couple of battles so haven't grown any characters through them yet. It would be nice if that changed.
"I'm in...inves...invessy grating," Evvie replied matter of factly even after struggling to find the right word for her actions. "Invessy grating the disappearing people."

She didn't seem to act as if this situation was in the least bit odd even if she did have a little jump from the surprise of the newcomer's sudden appearance. By now most of the crabs had vanished underneath the sand, perhaps to blame from this newcomer startling them, but they had clearly been of no help anyways. Perhaps this women would have the answers she sought? By the looks of things she had been in the water for some time, so maybe she was even one of the disappeared individuals who had washed up here? In that case she could use some help and not the other way around. However, Evvie sensed some bad intent coming from the way she was talking, unless that was just her mind playing tricks on her. She wasn't quite sure what to make of this young woman who was only a bit older then herself.

"Are you...disappeared? Or know anyone who has?" She questioned. "It's become a problem recently."

She held her staff calmly at her side as to not provoke this women, who perhaps was getting harsh with her just because she had been afraid.
Evvie enjoyed the calm breeze rushing against her skin as she soared through the sky above the shifting islands of sand below her. It looked peaceful enough down there as far as she could tell; beautiful even, so it was hard to imagine that it was home to a bunch of evil crabs as the rumors suggested. Still, it had piqued her interest so she had no choice but to investigate these claims, especially if the crabs were indeed kidnapping tourists and stranded seafaring folk, vanishing them from the world without a trace.

She tucked her wings inward a bit as she descended onto one of the sand islands in a shape of a circle around 60 feet wide. The small crabs occupying it scurried out of the way at the last second, not anticipating her coming from the air so suddenly so barely managed to escape in time as her feet slammed into the nearby sand, spraying it up every which way and causing the island to shift downward a bit, filling it up with more water. She wasn't trying to kill them with that attack but was going to try the good cop/bad cop approach, perhaps startling them into a confession right off the bat.

"Are you evil crabs or good crabs?" She questioned them, placing her hands on her hips.

She got no reply, only cautious movements from them as they studied this new intruder, most half buried in sand. Some dug themselves down deeper and out of sight. Others seemingly lost interest and went back to their business of...whatever it was they were doing beforehand. Crab related activities.

"Please tell me what happens to people, okay?" She asked more politely this time, switching to good cop. "Disappeared guys? You know?"

Still no reply. This was going nowhere fast. She let out a sigh.
I'll try to post before I go to work but if not I'll be back in 8 hours.
