The man didn't reveal himself around the pillar, apparently ignoring her almost entirely, which was somewhat annoying to her but at the same time gave her a great opportunity to smite his evil behind to kingdom come. He double deserved it now. She didn't hold back much on speed as she skidded tightly around the right side of the pillar, spotting him slashing at her armored ally's leg, who continued charging forward with reckless abandon as if he wasn't getting attacked from behind either. Funny how these two men were similar in that regard.

She covered the remaining distance at a near 50 miles per hour, a mere blink of the eye, and swung her blade from right to left where the man's neck was once she got into range, hoping to behead him with a single slash. She didn't care much if she'd slam into him due to her shield easily taking the damage of such a collision and she'd end up on top of him with her melee weapon in hand while he'd be laying on his stomach unless he managed to turn around in time, putting him in a highly compromising position if he simply decided to duck her blade and got knocked down, especially if he wasn't prepared for her sudden "tackle" that would also add disorientation to the mix.

It would take longer for him to sidestep dodge her, which she wasn't sure he'd have time for after just completing his slash, now having to readjust his footing and momentum. If he had time to get his sword into another slash against her so soon after the previous then that would be her biggest problem, but he just got through with a heavy slash to try and damage her armored opponent. Surely the momentum of that swing would cost him some time in that regard. Besides, she'd have her shields to rely on to block a single attack before she'd be able to get her sword ready again and take a better stance to defend herself, the exact nature of which she couldn't tell until it she saw his moves.

If any. She was light on her feet and quick while he was seemingly focused on the armored guy. Perhaps he wouldn't even notice until it was too late, but it wasn't like she was relying on this to be the case in order to succeed.
Outside of any unexpected disappearances, our battle is going to end pretty soon. We're posting a lot quicker now.
His opponent having to spin to dodge the bullet was good for Raln due to taking some time to pull off and reorientate himself once again in order to aim his next attack, buying the time for Raln to finish stumbling forward onto his feet, which took about as much time as the spinning did, around a second or so in either's case, although it was hard to accurately judge time in such an intense situation.

He wasn't planning on getting away due to having no cover going backwards and he was already close to his opponent by the time this all went down. No, his best course of action was to continue forward at maximum speed. One way or another, this battle would quite possibly be ending very soon. Due to getting just onto his feet from a low position he was still crouched down and leaning forward. As such he didn't have a normal running gesture but instead lunged forward with every step as if a sprinter fresh from the starting block. This wouldn't be effective to cover long distances but he didn't have to, being only ten feet away. He only took two lunges and jousted his sword the rest of the way up towards his opponent's heart just as the shots were ringing out, his right foot the one going forward as he drove the sword forward.

The aim of his opponent's weapon went down through his left shoulder, causing shearing pain to flood his body, but this wouldn't interrupt his sword strike already in progress. He hoped that this would be a lethal blow anyways. Otherwise he'd have to fight through the pain, which would be difficult but not impossible, as he'd heard many stories of people fighting with multiple gunshot wounds. Of course his left arm was probably a goner, but his sword arm would have to make up for it and do everything he could to end his opponent swiftly with his sword. His opponent had a gun out, not a melee weapon, so it wouldn't be as hard to score a killing blow up close should Raln not die first.
Evvie would be with the freeholds and is meant to...dispatch fury? And he's too furious to figure out her weaknesses so she wins for once. Yay!
Listia would help out, but if you guys want to talk she'll bring out a picnic basket and we could all sit down and have a load off. ;)

Or she could help. I'll likely post tomorrow.
Got it.

I must construct additional pylons...err...characters for this. Someone not afraid to get things done and has a balanced power set. And an interesting, creative personality to score on those aspects too. Hopefully I have time to start someone from scratch yet still be higher quality then my normal character a days.
In, no. If I previously grappled you, and you chose NOT to escape it, leaving me with that prior attack contact, I can just damage the joint this attack and break it next attack.

I was questioning ranged attacks taking an extra post here unless this ties into it.
EDIT: So grapples don't need an extra post is what your saying. But normal melees would still.
Ranged attacks must take an extra post to close distance with the projectile. (Arrows, Bullets, Fireballs...) This means they do not connect in the post they are written, but you may write in a semi-closed manner to indicate the damage/effect expected.

Doesn't that hold true for any attack, melee or ranged? Say you swing your sword or shoot a bullet and it doesn't connect in that post, but your opponent's post in response to this (if it does hit, of course)?
Evvie's letter will be written in crayon and saying how awesome she was. Not quite the emotional impact. XD
As Raln was advancing forward to initiate his attack, he was interrupted at the last second by a desperate attempt from his opponent to hold him at bay, if only for a brief moment. Flinging the sword with such haste didn't help it's accuracy in the slightest, allowing Raln to dodge it simply by flinching instinctively out of the way of the hurling object. Getting back on track, he steadied his hand to fire his mist bullet, only to see a gun materialize out of thin air, taking him off guard.

The gun was aimed high so he quickly dropped onto his belly to avoid the shot, raising his hand to fire his mist bullet up from his laying position towards his opponent's abdomen. Once it was fired he quickly scrambled back onto his feet in case he came under attack soon after this exchange.
