Many many species. Neko, Inumi (Dog) Kitsune (Fox) Lupine (Wolf) Orc could be considered human ish. Lalafell, Dwarf, Halfling, Half Dwarf, Sun Elf, Moon Elf, High Elf, Dark Elf, Woof Elf, there are so many species and there from the top of my head.

There are quite a number of boards to pick from, which are generally arranged according to how much you'd like to write when RPing or what exactly you'd like to write about! There are a ton of Roleplays to choose from, tagged with different genres, so I'm sure you'll find something that tickles your fancy .. Or, I guess, whiskers?

@Iuniper It has stalled for the moment, mostly due to me having to move my entire family on short notice. I am not sure about the other players. Might be time for a reboot or rewrite. I'm...coming to terms that I'm not the best GM when it comes to online-forum based stuff. I'm used to tabletop, that's where my experience comes from and I'm slowly learning the nuances of online play. I don't know to be honest if this is going to continue in it's current form. I'm not abandoning the world at all-I love it too much.

I hope your situation improves, that sounds stressful indeed. Similarly, most of my experience roleplaying is in tabletop, and it's much harder to really gauge the needs of a group and coordinate on dedicated RPG forums like this. In any case, I do really like this world, from what I've seen. It reminds me of the dreamland of Murakami's Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World mixed in with some Redon paintings mixed with a bit of Nabokov's weirder stuff and probably some novels I've not read and don't exist. It's neat!

Anyways, best of luck to you. If you decide to use this setting in some other form down the road, I'd be interested.

We'll actually be quite a 'confined' group, as far as things go, and can leave the majority of the background to me (and any co-GMs that may want to volunteer), leaving players to concentrate primarily on their own characters and so on. I'll expect a little bit of world-building from time-to-time, but nothing to worry about.

It's more one of those tales set against a quite large backdrop - like the Witcher series or the Conan stories - but more focused on a smaller 'area' (the area being our group), if that makes any sense?

Aye, this is reassuring. World-building is fine and fun, but - such a huge world!

I really like the idea and would be interested in creating a Hellenistic-era-inspired archer with an interest in Stoicism (as Stoics have loved archery). And probably some Zen references too along with a hearty dose of self-doubt and mid-life crisis given knowledge of modern physics and Stoic determinism. Very excited to see this develop since you're really knowledgeable about history and historical RPs are always really interesting.
