Bioshock-The Rise of Rapture

We've all wanted to explore Rapture before the events of Bioshock. While Burial at Sea gave as a good glimpse of this, we all perhaps yearned to be at the time Rapture was thriving and perhaps even at the moment it opened it's underwater and watertight doors to the public! What if you could explore Rapture at the beginning? To feel the utopia that Andrew Ryan envisioned? What if you could enjoy the excitement of using your first plasmid and be one of the first to have the power of evolution at their fingertips? This would not be a story about the end of Rapture, but the beginning.

Rules:

1.As stated above, this roleplay shall take place at the beginning of the creation of Rapture to it's climax. Thus Frank Fontaine is not known of yet.

2.This will be a mixture of fantasy with science fiction, (like it is in the game), however. This may also be a slice of life roleplay. The troubling events of the game won't be apparent to anyone at the start. Thus it's possible to play this roleplay as a civilian in Rapture.

3.Certain canon characters, (Andrew and Frank) shall be played by myself for plot and moderation purposes. However, you can make your own character and choose your own plasmids!

4.Standard roleplaying etiquette will apply. (OOC: Don't make me send the splicers to take care of the riff raff. ;P)

5.While this story will follow much of the canon, I want to portray Rapture from it's beginning leading up to it's climax of prosperity first. Thus very few should know of Fontaine or the drawbacks of using Adam.

6.Little Sisters, Big Sisters, and Big Daddies will be NPC's in this. I caution you not to take them on unless your character is ready, or really foolish.

7. Plasmids can be picked and you can also purchase them in the roleplay at the local vendors. Your starting off plasmids will have to be on your CS, however you're able to edit your sheet later should you want more.

8. Warning!: The effect of plasmids will be at play, the more plasmids and Adam you get, the more the effects there will be. I expect roleplayers to be advanced to know how to deal with this, (you could be very well the start of the fall of Rapture. Which you know Mr.Ryan will not take kindly too...)

9.You start off coming down into Rapture. Like in the game there will be various sectors, all inspired by the game. (Also some that are not cut off to explore as well.)

10.There are no gods, no kings, only man. Rapture has three big in canon "triggers" in this roleplay that will make your character be in trouble if they're caught with them.
.Practicing religion, (especially Christianity.)
.Being found as affiliated with the CIA or the US government other than through trade and business purposes.
.Being a communist.

While it's perfectly fine to have a character who's either of these three, don't expect a easy life in Rapture.

(Also OOC note: I'm actually a Christian IRL,however Rapture was made a certain way and the theme is going to be played. If you feel that this is concerning to be in due to beliefs please feel free to PM me or speak to me on the matter. I'm trying to make this roleplay as enjoyable as I can for everyone. )

11. Vendors, shops, and locations in game will be opened for commerce. Your character starts out with no weapons, and they start out with no plasmids. However, they can have a set sum of money to purchase what they feel like for a basic level should things get hairy for them. (Remember: Rapture is a city, thus it acts like a normal one would. )

Cowboys and Magicians? What about a western styled fantasy roleplay?

You might want to take a look at Deadlands. I'm doing an RP set in it right now and it would hit a lot of those points for you.

Okay? So are you also wanting to join into this particular rp or not? I mean, if this idea is already out there I can modify the plot to be it's own thing.

Meanwhile, in Equestria...

Birds flew away from the loud and disturbing stomps of the monster, the once tranquil land now was filled with the thunderous and abrupt clopping of the giant foal. The scene went from tranquil and serene to chaotic as the gigantic foal stomped out of the forest and into the opening. The titanic pony known only as Grief had traversed through the forest all the while knocking trees over or out of the way of his massive head, occasionally failing to do so and having them annoyingly brush into his gigantic face like dense foliage. Still, the young monster foal had emerged from the forest and now was stomping and clopping around much to the distress of everyone and anything around him.

"Man, i'm so bored. There's not anything to chase or smash around here! Just some stupid forest with stupid trees and stupid grass."

The giant foal stomped into the clearing of the forest and then scanned around, every so often turning his massive body and hooves to the direction he would look as he scanned around. Still, the giant didn't find anything of interest as he continued to look around. However, he himself would be an bizarre and astonishing sight in and of himself. His height was unbelievable as his face was as high up as the husk of the trees and his own hooves were slightly bigger and wider than the tree trunks himself. This giant of a horse was an unnatural entity within the once pleasant realm of Equstria. Yet even he only sought something of interest in this land.

Name: Grief
Species: Pony (mutant)
Age: 9

Source: MLP? (Even though he was originally a Sonic fancharacter.)

Appearance Description: He looks like a normal black furred child pony with green eyes and yet dark violet hair. He also wears spiked bracelets around his hooves, however he is capable of changing his size and to become quite large and more spacious.

Height: 3ft (normal size), normally around 50ft-60ft when giant. 100ft is strained maximum.

Personality:
Grief is a child and a brat, however he is also a child with superpowers capable of becoming gigantic and wreaking havoc in his juvenile antics and careless nativity. While he's capable of getting along with others, Grief is also known to be snarky, condescending, temperamental, and stubborn at times. However, he is also loyal and brave, even if for all the wrong reasons.

Backstory: Long story short, Grief was once a sickly foal until his mother experimented on him to save his life as a baby. By doing so she also turned him into a mutant pony with superpowers.

power section-

Skills: Grief can be tactically minded and creative when need be, he also is capable of searching for weaknesses in an opponent. That is, as much as any bully would be able to in another kid or person in general.

Traits:
.Trained endurance

.Increased metabolism

.Seasonally conditioned (he is very active.)

Powers: Grief's main power is the ability to grow larger and larger to become a mighty and powerful giant. Normally he just thinks of getting "bigger or smaller" and begins to increase or decrease at will. His normal average is around 50-60ft in height and just as proportionally wider and larger. However, he is capable of growing up to 100ft, this puts a lot of strain on him being a child and thus he usually tries not to get this big.
.Growth (and reversion back to normal). Grief's main power is to become a titanic twerp with super strength and super durability.
. At normal size he shows an unnatural amount of endurance, but only to enhanced levels.
.Concussive resistance when bigger.
.Super strength when giant.

Equipment: His bracelets are actually communicators and also monitor his vitals for his mother to gather data on.

I see, well that will be easy. My character's a rambunctious kid so probably he would just be exploring out of sheer boredom.

I just had an odd idea, since medieval fantasy is done quite frequently here, (not that there's anything wrong with that. I love medieval fantasy.) What if we did an idea featuring an American Wild West theme, but with magic? Something centered around the time of American Manifest Destiny and territorial expansion, with themes of mysticism and perhaps some fantasy themes in there? Now cowboys and dragons maybe far fetched, (although riding a dragon while firing a gattling gun sounds pretty badass), but what if we tried to blend history with fantasy?

I really hope and will encourage faction play. Once the game is running I will try build a faction system where you treat a faction as a second character. (Or just let everyone have multiple cha's)
