"Thanks Lavi." Collin said, feeling a little better about himself. "I'm gonna hope that my power because something cooler, otherwise I'll just be the Hawkeye of this Avengers group. Just less useful." He looked towards Gem, who was about to say something.

"Now that Gabanre is done. I would like a couple more volunteers."
Collin took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and stepped forward. He thought it was better now than never to show what he could do, even if it was barely anything. He definitely didn't want to go last, and with him going after new kid, it would make things easier for the others.
"I'll go next." He entered the chamber as he said so. "It'll only take a second, trust me." Collin looked around and wait for something to happen inside the chamber.

As he looked, he caught sight of another new kid enter the facility.
"Hello? Sorry I'm late..." He seemed to chirp. Collin waved from inside the chamber and called back to him. "Just sit down and this Gem guy will explain everything."

Basically, we've all arrived at the academy and Mr. Gem asked a few people to display their powers. I think it was Gabarne, Lavi, and Theo

"Yeah, I'm good." Collin sighed. "This guy shows up and does the matrix, meanwhile I have a phasing ability that only affects one part of my body." Collin faked a smile, but his defeated expression was prominent. Ever since he saw the first power, he felt more and more inadequate to the rest of the group. He felt completely out of place in this room full of people with miraculous powers.
Well, like I said, at least some of the people were alright. He looked to Evangeline, who had the same sense of humor as him and was really fun to talk to in general. His gaze went to Lavi, and he lightened up a little bit, thinking more of the positives lightened him up.
"Thanks, bud. Your name is Lavi right?"

-SKILLS: I sorta divided this up into how he matches up against the different kinds of weapons used.

Swordplay

This is by far Maxwell's best match up. When it comes to sword play, he uses a very defensive style and generally read where his opponents swings will land. His offensive capability is rather lacking, as he only swings his sword when he knows he can land a heavy hit. With that being said, it only takes a few blows for him to take down his foe, as it hits with tons of force on each swing.

Bows and Arrows, Throwing Knives, Other Long Ranged Weapons

This is Maxwell's worst matchup. With him being a naturally very large and slow man, it takes him awhile to catch up to long ranged opponents. He generally makes a very slow advance towards them, using cover when he can. Unfortunately for him, the fast and agile target can almost always outrun him, rendering him basically useless for an offensive threat.

Daggers

Maxwell performs decent against this match up. Although rouges are fast an hard to hit, Maxwell can easily move his buckler to at least block one of the daggers. His armor does well against the small knives as well, allowing him to take several hits.

Unarmed

Maxwell does extremely well in this match up as well. He is well versed in a small assortment of fighting styles, and his sheer size and strength makes him an intimidating foe to most anyone.

-BIO:
Maxwell was born into nobility and was fed from a silver spoon since birth. However, around his teenage years, he grew to resent the lavish life he grew up in. He craved the rush of battle, and the petty fencing and archery matches held by his family didn't suit him well, as he did very poorly. He did do well in using a shield and buckler and unarmed combat. The more and more Maxwell practiced these kinds of things, the more his parents began to worry.
As Maxwell spent more of his time doing what the nobles called "primitive battle techniques," he started to hang out with non-nobles. Maxwell started to engage in street brawls, bar fights, and sometimes even highway robbery solely for the rush of combat. His parents were outraged, and quickly disowned their son and tried to have him and his friends executed. Maxwell got away, but his friends were not as fortunate. Maxwell fled and found himself as a mercenary, laying low and away from his former family.
-OTHER INFO:
-Generally spends most of his time repairing his armor, as it takes quite a beating on a regular basis.
-When need be, Maxwell can "clean himself up" quite well, thanks to his noble heritage.

Collin watched in awe as the new kid had shown off his powers. Jesus Christ... This guy seemed corny at first, but damn, that was awesome! It was incredible to Collin that the new kid had such control and could use his powers so fluidly compared to everyone else. He said he only needed to "optimize" his power, but to Collin, his powers already seemed optimized.
"Meanwhile, I just have this..." Collin muttered, looking at his hand. At least he could depend on the new guy to carry him when the baddies attacked. Him, and everyone else. Collin's resent towards this whole operation grew, as his power seemed to be lamer and lamer with each second passing. He sighed and look towards the other two who were presenting their powers. Let's hope these guys are as good as him, cause if I'm to stay, I'll definitely be needing all the help I can get.
