Section #1: Jig Being Right

It has come to my attention, that I am primarily right and drunk.

Jig is completely right.

Jig is right.

[11.01.50] Gowi:

Jig is right. Feel free to send that along.

[Jig is] 100% correct.

Jig was right 8 months ago, and is still right.

I love you, Jig. It's because you're Always Right™.

Once again, Jig is absolutely right about this.

Where is Jig when I need to vent about politics?
Drunk.

The mighty Jig is of course right.

Section #2: Jig's RP's

I'm not post-dating RP's I've been in that died out of nowhere and I've basically forgotten about, so here are my present ones.

Current:

Previous:

Wolf Manor (GM)

Wink Murder (GM)

Project Rehab (Player)

The Kidnapping (Player)

Wink murder: Who Killed Mr. Jig? (GM)

Finite Incantatem (Co-GM)

New Dawn Rising (Player)

Oh, in other news, I'm thinking of giving Wink Murder another shot, either to be planned over the period of moving to Amsterdam or just after. If anybody fancies being a Co-GM for it, could they please PM me?

It'd naturally be run in a similar style as this, and giving away who the Co-GM might be would probably give away some of it. :P
Oh good god yes.

One of the benefits of this is that I don't have to do any proper writing so I don't have to read it back and hate myself then eat a bucket of ice cream while ringing all my exes and telling them that they never deserved me in the first place and I'm doing so well and then when they ask why I'm crying I go quiet and tell them I'm just having a really bad day and then they ask me if I've been drinking and then I look in the mirror and wonder what I've become.

For the record, I don't really have exes. Jig's Figuratively-and-also-almost-Literally Peerless Partner is so far the only one for me.
So I collected this huge bag of sparrows for no reason. Tch.

(Congrats)

Anybody here play this great game and fancy some squad/private battles?
all too often I see in RPs these people have no fore thought on what they are doing or where they are going to take their characters.

I notice this as well, but it's hard to stipulate as a requirement.
Eep. Don't like to do this, but I've had a look at the IC and it seems much more combat-oriented than I was looking for, and it also feels run in a way I don't really work (with GM NPC's reacting to player actions).

Good luck, but, on closer inspection, this isn't for me.
My requirements as a GM:

  • General proper spelling and grammar. There isn't really an excuse, especially in the Advanced Section, which specifically stipulates SPaG. If I see a character application that clearly hasn't even been run through a spellchecker, I immediately put my shades on (so I can take a dim view of the player).
  • Being up-front about when they can (or can't) post. I'm happy to wait; RL always comes first.
  • Not being a dick. If I see somebody behaving belligerently on these boards and they want in on my game, tough titties to them. Speaking to one another with respect is a basic. I won't put up with anything less and I won't inflict assholes on my players.
  • 'Getting' the game in question. It's kinda hard to measure, but sometimes you read a character application that suggests the player doesn't 'get' the game, whether it's because they don't know enough about the source (in fandom games) or because they seem to have a particular interpretation of it that just... isn't what the game is.
  • Characters with purpose. It can be anything, from the bleedingly obvious (Defeat the bad guy of the story) to the more tangential (Become rich could work in the same setting), but I really try to sniff out characters that are basically excuses for the player to explore whatever world the game's set in.
  • Thinking about other people's characters. I love it when players work together to help one another tell their own stories and deliberately putting their characters in situations that will facilitate the development of somebody else's character. It's totally metagaming, but I don't like to think of RPing as a 'game' which can be 'won' but rather stories to be told from many angles.

I don't even mention things like being OP or godmoding because I normally block people from being OP by inspecting the character sheet and godmoding is so universally derided that it's a waste of pixels telling people yet again not to do it.

Looking back at this list, I must seem like an absolute monster. I don't think I am.

I hope not.

The only one that's measurable is proper SPaG, and the rest of it is generally a gut feeling. I will reject a player only if I'm absolutely certain that I can't work with them.
I saw that this got bumped in the Interest Check section, so I guess it's open for new characters?

I should say, as per my sig, I'm shortly moving abroad, which might eat up my time but shouldn't result in any downtime. Worst case scenario, I swing by to say sorry I've not posted yet because I'm a busy bee.

Is there any kind of plot-thus-far or plot-for-the-future or 'characters we need' I should know about without ploughing through all of the OoC? :P
There might also be something in that, while 'Post Quality', if we're going to call it that, increases from Free to Advanced, sheer number of posts tends to go the other way, perhaps making Free slightly intimidating in terms of the amount of posts and Advanced perhaps a little too slow, while people assume that Casual is somewhere in the middle.
So... This looks awesome. Is there still room for someone new?

I say this with love, but there really isn't. The plot simply doesn't allow for it:

It would [...] be difficult to explain the arrival of a seventh guest to a controlled and (assumedly) extensively planned in advance murder party getaway.

I do plan on running similar games in the future, so hopefully one day. :)

To everybody else:

No posts are forthcoming, but stuff is still in the pipeline. No panics are necessary. Any panicking done is strictly your own responsibility.
