Bio

I'm a long, long time RPG'er (since the early 90s...) who has been playing exclusively online for the last 20 years or so. I'm an orphan of some long-run games (for ex USI for those who knew it). Having grown increasingly frustrated with the sites I've been playing on, I'm hoping to find and run some good games around here.

Systems and themes wise, I'm a fan of the BRP / RQ / CoC family of systems, but for online gaming tend to prefer lightweight (The Window) or entirely freeform games. Big fan of Lovecraftian horror, gritty fantasy (Black Company) or historical'ish fantasy like Gavriel Kay books. I'm also a big fan of stories like the Night Soldiers cycle of stories by Alan Furst.

I'm in. Lmk when you're ready for us.

Same here!
Are you still taking new chars? I can discuss my idea further by PM if you are.
... Never heard of the Night Soldiers.

It's by Alan Furst and covers the inter-war period in Europe. Loads of cloak and dagger espionage.

Looking for a writing partner for a game using some kind of plot-generating engine to drive the game (Mythic, Solo Zozer type of thing...). The setting would be Mythic Europe, ie, real medieval Europe but with traditional mythical elements thrown in. The sort of general theme would something like Gavriel Kay's 'Sailing to Sarantium'.

The mechanics plan, is to use a rules light system (say The Window, or even Runequest 6, BRP...) to provide a framework for task resolution, together with a plot-generating-assistance tool (Mythic, Solo Zozer type of thing...) to introduce unexpected elements into the tale being told by the two chars. Let me try to summarize this ramble, using bullet points:

Players decide setting, create chars, and decide on a starting scene.
Use some kind of GM-emulator to decide outcome, roleplay the outcome, potentially introducing new elements and driving the plot forward.

Happy to discuss further with any interested party!
