For the time being, perhaps we could focus on the Digimon? I'm considering logging off and catching some Z's.

I will explain the enemy in detail later. For now, I think it is time to find who Yggdrasill has chosen to pair you with. This way, please."

Ryūko glared at Robert. She'd known him less than an hour, and he was already pissing her off. She took a breath. "Miss Mikihara?" she asked.

"I myself cannot prevent your loved one's death," she said. "However, you needn't worry. Due to the nature of Witchelny, time flows at a much higher rate than on Earth. At the very most, you will only be gone for a few minutes."

"So nothing to worry about," she said.

@Crimson Lion It can depend. If their Digicore is intact, it will revert to a DigiEgg after a certain period of time. However, if it's destroyed, there's no coming back. And if they do come back, they lose most of their memories, namely the events that led up to their defeat.

Also, if this turns into a reverse harem, there's gonna be hell to pay.

Ryūko was initially shocked at the outburst but when more than one person started raising their voice she decided to step in. She grabbed both Robert and Nowe by the collar. "Everyone needs to calm down," she said firmly. "Spazzing out and throwing things at each other isn't going to get us anywhere." The girl let the two go, giving both a good push; she was stronger than she looked.

"Yggdrasill is aware," Norn said. "I can assure you that your loved one will be safe while you are here. I swear it." Norn's voice was even. "With access to every network connected to the internet, Yggdrasill is aware of each and every one of your lives on Earth."

*headdesk* My bad. But it would be an interesting element. Perhaps taking a Digicore is instinctual to the Dorumon line? It could be a source of drama.

@Shiyonichi Well I can't find any mention of DigiCores among any of Zubamon's line, save for cutting into an enemy's chest.

"Natural Digivolution is extremely difficult to undergo," Norn explained. "There are multiple stages. The first, after being born, is Fresh. Then is In-Training, and then Rookie. Naturally speaking, these stages can be obtained by growing stronger. Consider it 'growing up'. However, the more powerful forms require data to obtain. The only way to do this is to take it from other Digimon... in other words, by fighting."

Ryūko paused, biting her lip. "I see," she said. "By taking the data, does it kill the oponent?"

"It can," said Norn. "At the very center of every Digimon's physical form is something called a Digicore. A Digimon can survive severe trauma as long as the Digicore isn't destroyed. But if a Digimon's Digicore is absorbed..." Norn trailed off.

"I... I see," Ryūko murmured.

"Taking a Digicore boosts a Digimon's strength much more than just taking all the other data. Because of that simple fact, some Digimon are willing to kill their opponents for the sake of power. That is why you are all here: to stop those who do that."
