Bio:
Kalani was raised by two Fire Gemminites who only expected the very best from their only daughter. While they were strict in raising her, Kalani managed to flourish and even exceed their expectations. Kalani grew up to be a beautiful, independent, and proud woman. She was ready to take on the world when she was Chosen, much to her dismay. Her parents, though upset at first, knew that they had to give up their daughter and sternly told her that even though it was not what she wanted, she had to be the best at whatever she ended up doing; be the best Gem bride she could be. Whether or not she listened to their advice, we'll find out soon.

Kalani is a passionate perfectionist; expecting only the best from herself.
However in regards to other people, she is more cynical and doubts they have any true capabilities.
She is also fiercely competitive.

Secrets - Closed

Nathan woke up drowsily in his own bed, in his own apartment and without a girl beside him. He began to recollect what happened the night before. They had stayed up late, singing karaoke. Vanessa was the only one legally around to drink alcohol but who could stop Rachel and Nathan from taking a few sips from her glass. Rachel was an unsurprising light-weight and was the only one to get drunk by the end of their karaoke session. He could still remember the softness of her lips as they pressed into his, her warm tongue seeking entry, and her breath reeking of beer. She allowed- no, wanted him to explore her body with his hands. He was savoring each touch as his hands roamed free. When was the last time he felt another woman? They were so soft, so smooth, so warm, so delicate. She pulled away from their long passionate kiss and her eyes stared deeply into his. And then she tilted her head downwards.

And puked all over him.

Yup, that's what happened.

Vanessa, whom they have forgotten all about, had watched the entire thing and burst out laughing. She apologized for her friend and they decided to call it a night. She gave him both of their number and she asked if he still was interested in her friend. Nathan said yes, but was not very sure in his answer. They parted ways after Nathan assured Vanessa that he would help her out with James. Then Nathan took what was probably his third shower of that day and afterwards passed out on his bed.

He forced himself to get up because he knew that he had class later in the afternoon. He checked his phone for any notifications and saw that he had none. He wanted to tell James about what happened the night before if he wasn't too busy. "Good morning, Princess. Thanks again for leaving me alone with two beautiful girls. So I had a very... interesting night. If you aren't too busy, meet up with me after my class?" he texted his friend.

He got ready and dressed and then headed for the kitchen. He checked the fridge and his pantry. Nothing to eat. He should really go out and buy some groceries. "Alright, I guess I'm eating out for breakfast today. I wonder if the Reese's diner will be open," he thought to himself as his stomach growled.

Underlake: An Othertale

Dorkle was taken aback by the rabbit-like monster dropped from above. "We have stairs for a reason," he thought to himself but would never dare to say out loud. Though he was interested in what he had to say. Dorkle had never seen a real human before but what the rabbit was describing was nothing like what he read in books. But then again, the books didn't have much information. Humans were a bit of a taboo topic around here.

" Ah... anyways, I'll start designing the fliers. You could help me, System. And I'll show you my draft before I start copying them, Isa. Just so we don't put up anything that may be inaccurate or too stress-inducing for the other monsters," he said, changing the subject back to what they were talking about earlier.

He pulled out a pencil and a pad from his old lab coat pocket and began to take some notes. He wasn't very good at art so hopefully System could put all the information in a neat and tasteful manner.

Agh.. i've been procrastinating. But I will try to get a post out this weekend.

Secrets - Closed

Nathan smiled as he listened to Rachel sing. She wasn't the best singer but she had a cute, cheerful voice. On the other hand, Vanessa seemed to be sulking on one of the seats. Nathan took a seat beside her and started to do his best in cheering her up. "Hey, I'm sorry James couldn't come and you're stuck here with me," he said.

She glared at him at first for invading her space but her expression softened when she heard what he had to say. "It's fine. You and Rachel are having a good time," she muttered unconvincingly. "Was that girl of any importance to him? Do you think they'll fall in love like in some cheesy chick flick or something?"

Nathan began to laugh much to the offense of the blonde. "What's so funny, huh?"

"No... no... Okay, hold up," he said, in between laughs. He tried to compose himself before he continued talking. After taking a few deep breaths, he began to speak again. "James isn't the type of guy who would do that... Besides he keeps going on and on about how he's too busy to get a girlfriend with his family's diner and college. So I don't think the girl is your problem. It's more of convincing James to actually go out and trust me, it's no easy task."

"I don't know if that makes me feel better or not," Vanessa sighed, though she was a bit relieved to hear that James wasn't seeing anyone.

"Well, I'll tell you this. You seem like a cool girl that might be able to get James out of his rut so I'll try to help you out."

"Why?"

Before Nathan could answer, Rachel's song had ended so he applauded her performance. The brunette smiled and walked over towards them. She grabbed Nathan's hand and dragged him to the "stage". "I picked a duet for us, is that okay?" she smiled.

"Whatever you want, sweetie," he smiled back. He glanced over at the screen to see what song she has chosen. "Marvin Gaye" that one duet with What's his face and All about that Bass lady. "Uh... interesting song choice," he thought to himself. He did his best to sing along to the words on the screen though he was a bit off. Rachel didn't seem to mind though.

"What's with these lyrics?"

After the duet, Rachel had went back to singing by herself. Nathan felt a bit drained, not realizing how tiring karaoke could be. He returned to the seat next to Vanessa and joked, "Your friend is more energetic than the Energizer bunny."

"Yeah... So what about the whole James thing?" she asked, not able to shake her mind off that yet.

"What about the 'whole James thing'?"

"You'll help me out? Why?"

"Because you're alright and I want someone to help James have fun and relax."

"So it doesn't matter who it is as long as some girl is all lovey dovey with your friend?"

"Well, not any girl... I'm just saying that it'd be nice for him to have someone make sure he's doing alright."

"Why don't you do it then?"

"No, I don't think I would have as much influence to him as a g-.... Wait a second... Maybe I..."

"What?"

Nathan shook his head furiously and tried to chuckle it off. "Hey Rach! Vanessa wants to sing now!" he called out once the last song was over. Rachel was absolutely delighted and quickly dragged her friend to the front to sing "Hello" by Adele. Nathan relaxed into his seat and thought it over. Maybe there was something he could do after all...
