Ezekiel Kel

Location: The Big House -- Camp Half-Blood

Ezekiel was distracted again by the beautiful raven-haired girl when she sat down in front of him. Her knees brushed up against his as she folded one leg over the other. His eyes drifted down, watching the hem of her skirt shift before he quickly looked back at her face. Her eyes were very familiar but they didn’t jog Ezekiel’s memory of this girl at all. She was concerned, it was plain to see and that made the son of Apollo frown. How could a girl Ezekiel had never seen before be so worried for his safety? Did she not realize he was the guy at camp everyone loved to hate.
She shifted, her hand going into her shirt and Ezekiel shifted uncomfortably, looking over at Chiron to make sure the teacher saw Ezekiel was keeping his hands to himself and his eyes averted from looking anywhere he shouldn’t. She grabbed his arm and he nearly fell forward due to not paying attention but he managed to catch himself. She slipped a bracelet onto his arm and tied it into place as she explained what it meant. Ezekiel watched her face rather than her hands and had this sudden urge to touch the blush on her cheeks, to feel the warmth there but Chiron pulled him from that urge.
He snapped his head back to his teacher when Chiron relayed information of his vision and asked if there was anything else. Enchida. Ezekiel should have known that. Yes, Ezekiel already knew the vision wasn’t a good sign, as for there being anything else... ”Ya there, uh,” Ezekiel had to pause and clear his throat as it had gone all weird from the extremely attractive girl sitting so close to him. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat as his body shifted from the rage of hormones. Being fifteen was hard. ”Ya, Jupiter. When Enchida was talking about her children waiting for Kristin, Janelle and I, she said they, her children, would also make sure that “they don’t make it to Jupiter”. Perhaps we should postpone everyone leaving for Jupiter or send extra precautions,” Ezekiel noted.
Rosie piped up about the new girl shedding and Ezekiel looked back over. The unknown girl’s hair was growing shorter, which in any normal circumstance would be unnerving but this was Camp-Half Blood. Ezekiel was still waiting for the girl to turn into a frog and the kids from Ares cabin or something come around the corner pointing and laughing. As the hair started to shorten, Ezekiel was recognizing more features but he still couldn’t put a name to the face but those eyes, he had seen those eyes before.

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: Chinese Place -- Wichita, Kansas
Skills:

Cassiopeia shifted, blinking at Tink’s response for a moment. ”Come again?” Fairy tales, real? And they came from a land of them? Please, next thing this crazy lady was going to say was she was the daughter of Robin Hood. Cassiopeia had always loved fairy tales growing up. The heroism, the adventure and victories. Those characters didn’t always have the best home life and look how well they had turned out. Robin Hood was always her favourite tale and Maid Marian was a bad-ass.
Cassiopeia shook her head. ”This is a little ridiculous and you’re here now because of what? Captain Hook is on a rampage?” She looked back over towards the bathroom. She was alone now that Colby had gone to check out what the commotion was. Cassiopeia was thinking she should probably go check on her sister, what with now a crazy lady spouting that fairy tales are real in the middle of a Chinese restaurant.

Willow Jones

Location: Oak Park
Skills: Psychology

Willow took a step back when she saw that the bodies were chard. Just what the hell had they walked into. She fumbled with her purse to try and get her phone when she remembered that she had shut it off. Phones always powered off quickly but never turned back on right away. She looked at the people who were standing in the park. One girl, fairly young by the looks of it, was yelling at a man before Sierra spoke up. Wait, did he just say Merlin? Willow looked around at the others to see if they had heard the same thing.
Willow scanned the man, looking him over but he wasn’t showing any of the usual signs of lying nor was he showing any signs of telling the truth. He was a man of mystery and that set Willow on edge. She took another step back, her eyes falling back onto the burnt bodies. They definitely weren’t alive and the mystery man was uncomfortably calm about the whole situation. ”We should go,” Willow stated, hoping Sierra would back away with her. She was the furthest ahead of them all.

Antoinette could feel the others start to close in around her and she didn’t see boxing in Lance being a very good idea. Lance shifted and his fist came down, throwing Antoinette back. She felt as if she were floating at one point. There was a calm sort of feeling that surrounded her, even as she saw Lance start to attack her friends and then back off. Everything moved in slow motion until her back slammed into a wall and her focus zeroed in as reality hit her. Or perhaps it was her head cracking back against the helmet. She could feel a warmth start to slide down the back of her head and neck as she dropped to her knees on the floor. For this reason, Antoinette was able to tell she was bleeding and as the warmth continued to trickle down her shoulders and back, she knew it was a lot.
Her helmet opened up and Antoniette sucked in some fresh air. She looked up at her friends, watching Lance continue to back away from them. He didn’t have control over the Hulk and it was merely trying to protect him. Them all converging on him had been a bad idea. She touched the back of her head with her metal glove and looked at it to see the blood on her suits fingertips. ”Please forgive me,” she said as she stood.
The head injury was causing some fuzziness but Antoinette’s mental level was clear enough for her to start thinking. Antoinette was used to close combat situations, fighting with her hands before running away. She was a fast runner. In this situation, running would leave her friends stranded and all of them at risk of dying, either from Lance being unable to control the Hulk from protecting himself, or the other creatures of the ship coming after them when they were vulnerable. That being said, Antoinette had learned she was quite good at distractions and her illusions had started to grow in their ability, making them solid and more life-like.
Antoinette pushed herself back to her feet as her purple eye started to glow and she started to conjure an illusion, hoping it would solidify again as she had done with the life-size Hulk in the other room with the Phalanxs'. Her ability was holding strong and Antoinette was able to create a tower or group of falcons. They came from the ceiling and aimed straight for Lance, screeching as they closed in on him. They came at Lance from different angles, diving for his face and eyes to keep him distracted. A few were able to take flesh and Antoinette flinched from the act. She hoped the others would see the opportunity of the Lance Hulk being distracted and somehow take his legs out from under him before too much damage was done.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Underground HQ-- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Luna glanced back when the one called Sunshine piped up, making comments on Luna’s lifestyle and how many people she had killed. She smirked at the young thing before turning her head and watched Veil and Sapphire walk back into the room. Sometimes it was easier for people to make their own assumptions and live in their own fantasies about people. It wasn’t Luna’s job to make everyone feel better and Sunshine seemed like the type that needed to lash out. Luna would allow her to do what she wished until the time came to correct the mutant in her judgments.
Casper started to freak out again, screaming for his brother. He kept looking around, freaking out and closing his eyes for a moment before opening them again. She was about to tell him where Jack was when he came down the stairs. She looked around the room again, trying to see what he was seeing but there was nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps he was seeing death again. Luna watched Jack with Casper and waited to see if he could get his brother to calm down a little. In a pinch, Luna could try to see if she could make him sleep but she wouldn't enter his mind unless Jack okay'd it.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Mutant Underground HQ -- Washington D.C.

Cayden relaxed a little when Havok didn’t seem to take offence to his comment and even spoke about him wanting to do the same to an extent. Cayden smiled a little and looked over when James walked up to him. He opened his mouth wide and then frowned before grinning. ”Seems to be alright. No pain. Thanks for that save, it was not fun having to deal with that,” Cayden stated. The burning on his face had been so intense that he felt the rest of his body go cold and numb until James was able to help him and then it was dealing with the shock.
Another suggestion about Vulcan’s care was suggested by Blink. ”That would be an idea! Takes awhile to get back by plane, if he can even get a plane. Maybe he’ll like it there, go on a safari,” Cayden agreed and then they wouldn’t have to worry about him for awhile. Casper started to freak out and Cayden turned his attention quickly to him. It was kind of the same thing he was doing earlier, until James had given him something to calm him down. He nudged James. ”You might need to help him out again.” Cayden didn’t like the idea of drug use but this guy was suffering terribly from the power he had. There were many legends and types of people that Cayden’s grandmother would talk about that could walk among the dead. Communicate with them if they had wanted to. Cayden didn’t want to live with the dead, some saw it as a curse, an end of times. Cayden shuddered and looked away from Casper.
Ezekiel Kel

Location: The Big House -- Camp Half-Blood

Chiron came out of the Big House and Ezekiel set his pack down before taking the offered seat. ”Thanks Chiron. I had another vision last night, well, it was in my dream but I am certain it was a vision,” he stated. He was about to start explaining when a raven-haired girl walked around the corner, calling his name. Ezekiel looked at her a bit confused. She was, well to be blunt she was damn hot and Ezekiel blinked dumbly, at a loss for words. ”Do I know you?” he asked lamely. Rosie joined the trio a short while later and Ezekiel was brought back to the present.
He shook his head, leaving the image of playing the guitar to serenade this girl out of his mind. The dream from last night, right. He relayed his dream to Chiron. ”The woman was blurred but she knew us and seemed to know what the three of us were going to do, whatever that is. What do you think it means?” Ezekiel was a little more than nervous going on this quest and to have had a dream like he had last night, about people knowing the three of them was not sitting well with him and it had only left him more confused and in desperate need of answers.

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: Chinese Place -- Wichita, Kansas

Cassiopeia narrowed her eyes a little at the woman who called herself Tink. ’Like Tinker Bell? Come on, get a better nickname…’ she thought to herself. Cassiopeia shifted in her seat. Obviously Tink knew of the letters, she spoke of them, knew her name, she said it and knew her parents. Cassiopeia was inclined to believe her. ”Did you send the letters? What danger was it talking of?” She glanced at Colby once but was decidedly more interested in the pretend fairy.
Early today, when they had first gotten the letter, Cassiopeia could have cared less about getting to know her parents but as the day had worn on and Layla talked about it, the more interested she had become. Now, knowing that they had answers close at hand, there was nothing Cassiopeia wanted more than to know who her parents were and where they were. She had many questions for them. Her mind was already racing with them.

Willow Jones

Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy… Silent tears fell down Willow’s face as she drove. This betrayal was different though. It wasn’t a simple act of growing up and learning, losing innocence. This was a complete break of trust and confidence. Everything she knew was a lie, how she was raised had been fabricated. She didn’t feel any comfort or warmth in this moment. She felt as if she had been hollowed out. Sierra even grabbed her hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. Willow felt a small shock go up her arm but she ignored it, pulling her hand away from Sierra’s to pull into the parking lot.
Willow looked confused at the scene before them. She thought her eyes were blurry and rubbed the corners of her eyes but what she saw was clear. Two people were on the ground, knocked out Willow hoped and three other people standing around the scene. Willow got out of the car and locked it once everyone was out. She walked behind Sierra, leaving space still. It wasn’t a good thing to see two bodies on the ground and the possible assailants still there. Willow was strong and had a kick boxing background and although it could be easily used for combat and she knew how, it had merely been for exercise. She didn’t want to fight, she had just gotten a fresh manicure the other day. Plus there was the emotional trauma she was still reeling from.

Lance hadn’t calmed down and had finally hulked out. He towered over them all, roaring and did not seem at all amused by Thor’s attempts in calming him down. He picked up Thor and tossed him across the room before turning and glared at them all who were still there. At least they were on a large ship. Many times the Hulk, Lance’s father, had actually helped the Avengers in battle due to their being a bigger threat and a bigger evil. This though, why Lance had suddenly hulked out did not make sense to Antoinette. Their lives had been in threat but no more than usual. It could have been due to the blood transfusion Lance had gone through and the lack of stability and understanding with this new, baby hulk, so to speak.
Antoinette stepped forward, looking up at Lance curiously, seeming to be in a bit of a daze. Perhaps it was shock still. Clearly the girl did not see the imminent danger at the moment. She was normally a timid person but that usual came with anything that triggered her PTSD and that would be gunfire or sometimes simply seeing the weapon. Curiosity though, Antoinette was swimming with the need to understand and learn.
The school girl crush she had once had for Lance had left her after the last battle. She had seen how close him and Runa had become and so she let go and moved on. After all, Antoinette was struggling with her own internal battles. ”Lance, I am not sure this is what your father meant about you two becoming closer,” she noted.
As she watched him closely, her blue eye began to flare again. Her intuition came on it’s own, she hadn’t really thought she was trying but maybe her subconscious had taken over. Lance was angry, that much was obvious with the hulking out but with Carolina accidentally hurting him and a supposed hallucination Lance had prior to this moment, it had pushed him over to this end.
”The mind does like to play tricks on us. To lie and make us feel less than adequate. I see my mother… Most often when I’m asleep but sometimes during the day… I hear her screams too,” she noted in a serene, dream like voice. She looked back at Lance, feeling herself start to go off track. ”Whatever you saw Lance, it wasn’t real. How it made you feel, was merely a reaction to the lie. She walked up to Lance and placed a hand on the green figures leg, at least what she could reach and patted him a little. "This is real though." This would either work or it wouldn't. Antoinette only hoped the suit would hold her body together if Lance kicked her across the room.

Luna nodded a bit at Jack’s assessment and need to know everything before trusting someone. She could get behind that to a point. ”You never truly know everything about a person, not unless you exhibit a bit of trust first but in our line of work, trust can get you killed or it can save you. It’s a real toss up of a situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew we were coming but at the very least, he does know of us, he will do his research and so we shall do ours. I’ll call my dad and aunt. They’ve had their run ins before, it would be good to have a bit more of an insight into the big bad.” Luna stood up and looked at Jack. Being a telepath had its advantages for sure, but if someone knew how to block or play their own mind games, you were totally snookered and it didn’t matter. ”If you need an outside party to talk to Jack, you know where to find me. I don’t have Darth Vader as a father but sometimes it isn’t easy being Luke Skywalker’s child either,” she noted. Expectations vs. reality as it were.
Luna left Jack to figure out some more stuff if he needed to and she headed back down the stairs. She wormed her way around the teenagers and other kids who had laid claim to the stairs and noted the conversation they seemed to be having. ”Killing is great and all, but it’s the after that you have to learn to deal with or it will consume you.” She glanced at them. They were all so young but they couldn’t afford to rely on the innocence of age. Luna was lucky, she didn’t grow up hunted. She grew up as safe as houses and loved and she still had most of her family. She looked away, feeling a flicker of shame that she would never understand them and yet expected so much out of them.
Luna joined the group on the main floor and shoved her hands into her pockets. She schooled her emotions and facial expressions into her easy face of constant annoyance and curiosity. She cocked her head at Vulcan, thinking over what they could do with him. Beating was an option but you could only do so much before they were more useless than they would be dead. Drugs, she didn’t think was a wise idea since he was addicted to whatever drug had given him all this extra power and lack of control. Truth was, they got all the information out of them they could, he was useless to them now but he was family. Luna looked over at Havok who was watching Vulcan as well. Snookered indeed.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

”Well I don’t know about you but I work better on a full stomach,” Cayden said and patted his hollow belly. He grinned, smiling at all the somber faces before he leaned up against a piece of furniture. He untied the leather throng from around his wrist and wrapped his hair around it so it was in a bit of a bun on the back of his head. His hair was a knotted mess at the moment, dirty as well. It would be better for him if he kept it pinned out of the way. He looked back at Vulcan when beatings were mentioned. ”I could help with that,” he offered then paused quickly, looking at Havok. ”Sorry man… I didn’t, ya,” he glanced over Vulcan again and then away.
The memory of his face on fire was still at the forefront of his mind as Cayden had never experienced such pain before. It was hard not to feel hostile towards the man on the floor, even if he was someone’s brother, someone’s son. It could have been worse. James was there in time and had been able to help heal Cayden’s face to prevent any kind of lasting damage. An image of his grandmother flashed across his memories and he relaxed a little. She was always telling him to look for the good in a person and to have patience, as that journey was never a steady one.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Luna remained standing in the doorway while Jack blew up at her. She didn’t mind in the least, yelling was a great stress reliever. She listened to him speak and confess who the man he had been talking to was. That was a bit of a surprise and a shock. Luna kept her eyes on Jack, giving him her attention but her mind was racing right now on what all of this could mean. How this could affect them all. As for his telepathy comment, Luna knew exactly what people thought of her and how untrustworthy everyone, even her own family, believed her to be. It was one of the reasons she didn’t poke into any of their minds the first day she showed up. If she desired her own thoughts to be protected, she would respect everyone else’s privacy. In this case though, Luna had gotten a read on that older man and it hadn’t been sitting well with Luna. She needed to know and she wasn’t going to poke into Jack’s mind so she asked him instead.
Luna shifted away from the door and found a spot to sit after Jack’s tirade. ”There’s no need to apologize Jack, that is a lot to take in. Especially for only one person to take in. I wish I could agree and say it is solely your problem but I have a feeling it won’t be. If only because we all just stumbled onto your father’s lair and he knows about all of us now.” She watched Jack, trying to pick her words carefully but sometimes there were no easy words. Especially when you just found out your father is a super villain. ”At least your dad has good taste in lairs,” she said, attempting a humorous joke.

Colossus answered Cayden and seemed self assured that it would work. He smiled at the big guy and nodded. They all had to have faith right? ”I guess we just need to wait it out then. In the meantime, should we go on a supply run?” He looked around the room but Veil was still speaking in private with Sapphire. They would have to wait for her all clear but Cayden thought a supply run would be a good idea. ’Oh, is there running water in this place? A shower would be ideal,” Cayden noted. Of course, there were in an underground, half collapsed mansion so the odds of running water were low but you never knew. This place was like a bunker, it would have to survive all sorts of things, right?
Cayden turned his head, looking at everyone gathered on the stairs. They all seemed to be in various stages of tiredness. Some just starting to get there, others overtired and therefore energetic now and others just simply there. Waverley didn’t look like she was doing very well but Casper seeing her mother would have done any of them in he was sure. Cayden was still glad he had been chosen for the hospital raid rather than the bar scene. There were already stories floating around about what had happened with that group.

Antoinette was too busy concentrating to notice Lance’s turning colours and Thor’s urgency. Her concentration was broken when Thor grabbed her and Elizabeth and hauled them out of the room. Antoinette blinked a couple of times, her eyes coming back to normal before she heard shouting and was pulled back to reality. The door remained open and Antoinette quickly shut it before turning to the source of yelling. Lance didn’t seem to be Lance at the moment and that might not be good for the people close to him right now. His skin was slowly starting to change colours and his heart was not slowing down which clearly could not be a good sign.
Antoinette took a couple steps towards Lance, her blue eye starting to glow as she tried to get a read on him and what was occuring. Her purple eye glowed faintly as well but she couldn’t determine who Lance was talking to or what he was seeing. She flipped tactics, her purple eye returning to it’s normal shade but the blue continued to glow strongly as she searched for the right words to tell Lance so he could perhaps calm down. Nothing was being presented to her and Antoinette looked over at Carolina. She was standing close to Lance but they were all sitting ducks right now.
