Ezekiel looked back at Kristin and blew her a kiss when she called him a pain in the ass. It was a job he took rather seriously and Cassian seemed to get his point as well since he backed off. Ezekiel smirked a little and returned his focus to the rest of the room. Periodically he looked towards the door, waiting for Nancy’s arrival. Demetri stole his attention first when he whispered, trying to keep his voice low. Ezekiel felt a tinge of elation followed by anger. His eyes quickly darted over to Janelle before looking back at Demetri and glared. Demi should know Janelle had better hearing. It was probably better than the average mortal due to being a demigod, too. Talk turned to gods helping them out and Ezekiel snorted.
”Sure. I mean, Auntie Artemis showed up when Janelle, Kristin and I went on our quest but I mean, they aren’t exactly straightforward with their help. They give you advice but you’re on your own pretty much the rest of the way. Her Hunters helped us but not until the very end but we had to get to the point of needing them all on our own.” He looked over when Demetri piped into the conversation and rolled his eyes. Ezekiel was still riding the wave of being an asshole to Cassian and his frustration with Demi over his whispered comment, so it was easy to answer Demi with an annoyed tone.
”Mush brain to start with doesn’t matter. They’ll find a way,” he said. Zeke looked back to the door once more and that was when he noticed Nancy near the back, staying on the outskirts of the group. His fingers twitched at his side, wanting to go stand with her but he didn’t want to draw attention to her either, so he just looked back at the drawings on the table.

Cassi smirked a little when Robin Hood introduced them to Flynn Ryder. ”Of course he is,” she said, slightly amused. They wandered back to the others and Cassiopeia shouldered her bow back and looked at Layla when she said they should start moving. She nodded in agreement with her sister.
”Ya, I don’t have the greatest track record with hitting my mark right now apparently. Best get to the hideout before we get to comfortable trading stories.” Cassi seriously hoped her combat archery improved in a hurry or she would be the cause of someone’s death on her side. Or even her own.

Willow swallowed and held her arms out for the man to search her. It wasn’t any different than being at an airport and Willow had gone through that several times but never in an old-fashioned, desert community that she had thought was a fantasy. Thankfully, they felt nothing on her person. Willow nodded her head and dropped her arms before walking through and waited for the others.
She crossed her arms before her mother joined her and asked her if she was okay. Willow nodded, opening her mouth to explain to her mother that it was normal but she couldn’t exactly say that without trying to explain air travel.
”Ya…ya, just relieved we all made it through,” she said softly before looking around.

Relief and security flooded Antoinette when Edus returned her hug. She had always felt trustworthy with people who adored birds like she did and Edus was one of those people for her. He released her from the hug, wanting to know about her experience but later, Antoinette nodded in agreement. She stayed near Edus but turned to focus on the group and the conversation. When she heard mention of Stark Tower, Antoinette listened closely to Runa and nodded. Guin, Lance and her had seen the tower when they first landed in this reality’s New York.
”Stark Tower did look abandoned when the three of us landed in an alleyway. We were a few blocks away but the tower or sign wasn’t lit up,” Antoinette said to Runa. Something strange happened after that. Stark appeared in the room in a cloud of red smoke. Antoinette blinked, looking at the man curiously. The way he spoke made it sound like he knew this reality but what they knew was Stark was dead, hence the tower looking abandoned. Was this another Stark from a different reality?

Cassiopeia followed her sister and father to the prison wagon. She watched their backs as they made their way over, ready to defend them should the need arise. Cassi knew that an arrow wouldn’t make its mark all the time but she seriously hoped she got better at shooting at moving targets soon. Her life, her sister’s life and her father’s depended on it.
Robin broke the lock and they started helping prisoners off. One man acknowledged her father and Cassi was a little surprised by this. She watched him get out, frowning a little as they all moved away from the wagon, heading back into the woods.
”A thank you usually works,” Cassi said bluntly.

Willow listened to her mother as she explained that they should stick together for a while to make their story seem real. Well, it was partially real anyways. Aurora was her mother, the others weren’t of a blood relation but they were kind of becoming a misfit family. Absentmindedly Willow wondered if that was the meaning behind Alice in Wonderland.
They made their way to the gates and Willow was relatively relaxed until a person ahead of them was detained and pulled out of line. Willow became fixated on watching this person, so when she was asked for her papers, she jumped. Willow flushed and pulled out her papers, handing them to the guard and stared at the ground, hoping to go unnoticed.

It’s fine. I’m fine. Ezekiel looked at Demetri closely, his hand still up where he had grabbed Demi’s shirt. His fingers twitched before he let his hand fall back to his side. Demetri was fine, visibly Ezekiel could see that now but initially…
Cassian’s voice chimed in and Ezekiel turned around slowly and looked at him. Ezekiel leaned back a bit, a smirk forming on his face. ”Apologies Cass. Didn’t realize my being a healer would impede on your desire to be the new spokesperson of the camp. Hey Kristin, better watch out. Mr D’s kid is trying to steal your spotlight.” He turned his head to look at Kristin when he addressed her but after he was done he looked back at Cassian and stepped towards him, eyes narrowing. ”Mind yourself or maybe I’ll let you suffer a little before healing you on our quest.” He turned, taking a step back so he was closer to Demetri again and stared at Rose who started to talk and explain more of the prophecy.
He got a little more information than he did from Nancy but that was because Rose had never been and didn’t need to battle herself and mind to speak about the hotel. Ezekiel looked over Rose’s drawings, shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot, his fingers twitched against his legs as he tapped out an unheard beat.
”Great and how exactly are we supposed to get to these doors without our mind going mush. As far as I know, as soon as you walk through those doors, the lotus eaters are doing everything to make you feel at home and then pretty soon, one hour turns into three days.” Just once, Zeke would like to stay at camp and defend the barrier.

Antoinette watched Runa use the sling ring like Dr Strange did and slowly a portal opened. Antoinette moved closer and spied the rest of the X-Men and Asgardians on the other side. Antoinette grinned, temporarily ignoring the others that were in the room. She was just so grateful to see everyone united again.
Once Edus was over, Antoinette rushed over and hugged him. ”Thank goodness you’re alright,” she declared. After a moment’s hug, Antoinette released her friend. She smiled at him and looked at the others. ”Lance and his father are in the mirror dimension at the moment. Hopefully, we can bring them back soon,” she added on.

Of course, Layla saw everything. That girl had the eyes of a hawk. Cassiopeia ignored her sister though and took aim again. She missed once more but persistence finally paid off and Cassi was able to hit two people on the opposing team in the shoulder. With that small victory, Cassi relaxed a little and looked for the people on her side. It was then she saw her father had been hit.
Cassi stowed her bow away and hopped down from her perch in the tree and hurried to her father’s side with Layla to help defend him. ”I think it’s high time we got the prisoners and made a break for it. You alright, dad?”

Willow smiled at her two misfit friends. It was strange how they all sort of fit together but they did. She stepped back with her mother after hearing they would all split up after and take different ways to head back. Willow figured she would be sticking with her mother from here until they made it back to a safe house. Once everyone was ready, Willow followed her mother out onto the street and headed to the palace.
”Once we get there, do you want to stick together or split up?” Willow wasn’t sure if her mother already had a plan for being a distraction or if the two of them would be able to come up with something together. They couldn’t exactly be themselves although it might have been an excellent distraction.

Once Bryan left, Nancy spoke up, laying down some ground rules and Zeke found the corners of his mouth lifting a little. It wasn’t in so much amusement but in respect of her. Nancy spent time in her own version of Tartarus but she was still strong enough to lead and tell everyone within ear shot exactly what she expected and wanted.
”You won’t hear any protesting from me and if they try pushing more information out of you, I’ll blind them,” Zeke declared. They started walking back to the Big House and Zeke looked at the dragon again.
”So that’s new. When did you get a dragon?” They reached the Big House and were joined by Madalyne then Niah shortly after. Zeke looked at the three of them and nudged Nancy with his elbow. ”I’ll meet you in there.” He looked at Madalyne and Niah, wondering what to say to them both for the quests they were about to go on. In the end he didn’t say anything but nodded to them both before leaving the trio to say their goodbyes.
Ezekiel walked into the Big House and noticed a few things. One, there were a lot more people here than he was expecting and two, Demi was talking with Janelle and Cassian. Wonderful. Ezekiel walked over, standing next to Demi and glanced down at the table.
”What I miss?” he asked casually. As he looked at the drawings though, something else caught his eye and Zeke grabbed Demi’s sleeve. ”Is this, blood?” He demanded, warning bells going off in his head.

Antoinette had never been much of a confrontational person growing up. She often felt disagreements could be solved rather easily with polite conversation, so the yelling Guin was doing really didn’t make her feel comfortable in this space. She could see points on both sides of the argument but she thought they should really rather work together rather than criticize.
Antoinette continued to stare at the unconscious bodies, hoping for the arguing to be over soon, when they disappeared. Antoinette blinked and looked up to see and hear Runa explain that she had sent them away. Antoinette relaxed with some relief and a decision was quickly being formed to finally go find the others. If only Ed was with them, then they could have tracked the other group easily.

Cassiopeia watched the fuses being set, admiring how close some of Robin’s men could get without being detected and then she was tensing up as she waited for the fuses to go off. Cassi jumped once they did, having never been this close to a live explosion before. IMAX did wonderful things with sound but it did not compare to the real thing. Her ears rang a bit and she blinked back some tears while she shifted her feet under her. Blobs started running for them and as Cassiopeia’s eyes cleared, she realized they were the people they were supposed to be ambushing. Cassiopeia lifted her bow and let her first arrow fly before she quickly fired off another.
Combat archery clearly wasn’t her thing as both arrows flew wide. Cassiopeia cursed and shifted her weight until she was standing behind a tree and tried to quickly rethink her strategy. She was used to still targets or tracking a target that was running away, not at people running towards her and firing because your life depended on it. Her sister, on the other hand, was an assassin with throwing knives.
Cassiopeia looked up at the tree she hid behind and noted the low hanging branches. When in doubt, get higher. Cassiopeia climbed until she was about half way up the tree and covered. This disadvantage now was she was a sitting bird but the advantages were she had an aerial view and could fire down at targets and have a steadier hand. At least that’s what Cassi was hoping for.
Taking her time to steady her breathing, Cassiopeia pulled another arrow out and notched it into her bow. She marked out her target and focused on her breathing while she tracked them. She let the arrow go and missed. Not letting it get her down, Cassi repeated the process and missed. Alright, now the pressure was setting in. Cassiopeia’s face was as red as her hooded jacket.
”Robin Hood’s daughter my ass,” Cassi muttered to herself. She grabbed another arrow and let it go. It landed in front of the attacker, embedding itself in the ground. How useful for them and shit for her. Cassi hoped her girlfriend was having better luck.

Relief flooded Willow when Tinker agreed to join her and Aurora on the main floor as look out. Willow felt more secure knowing Tinker would be there with some magic to back them up, even if the palace was already on alert for magic. She looked at the others, feeling as ready as she would ever be.
”No more questions from me. Let’s get going before I get cold feet and rethink this whole scenario,” she said, joking slightly. Willow looked over at Colby and Matthew, watching one of the cats disappear and her eyes widened before she blinked and shook her head. She walked over to them and paused for a moment before she wrapped an arm around each of them and hugged them. ”Don’t know if I’ll have time to say it there but, stay safe and be smart.”
