Cassiopeia Hood

Location: The Moors

Layla broke Cassiopeia out of her dark thoughts once she was hugged. Even with the shroud over the dead man, Cassiopeia could still see him, but Layla’s touch was a comfort. Cassi was slow to move at first but after her arms were around her twin, she held on tightly and buried her head into her sister’s neck. Tears pricked her eyes but she fought back against sobbing.
”I don’t know if I can so this, Lala. Killing people… It’s so different from animals.”
The first time Cassi had ever killed an animal, she spent days crying. It had oddly fascinated her that the animal moved and was warm before gradually becoming stiff and then cold. Then she had to cut into the animal. That had pushed her over the edge, knowing for sure that the deer would not magically come back to life. Her foster parents had been kind with her though, taking her home and spoke to Layla and her about hunting and the reasons for it. It comforted her in a strange way and helped her develop a deeper appreciation for the circle of life.
This however, didn’t feel the same.

Willow Jones

Location: Tower -- Agrabah
Skills:

Willow got herself something to drink before she sat. She fiddled with her clothes, finding the need to do something with her hands. Once the portal was opened, Willow tried to peer beyond to see anyone she knew but the others weren’t at Merlin’s tower. Willow sighed and sipped her water.
She really wanted to know how the others were getting on. What sort of challenges they were coming across and if they would get to see each other anytime soon.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Random Forest – New York City

It was a relief when Runa took her cousin to the mirror dimension. Antoinette relaxed a fraction, rubbing her sore head and body. She turned her attention to the fight that continued it. It seemed Lance had a handle on things in Hulk form. All her and Bethany had to worry about was staying out of the way.
Antoinette looked at Bethany and pondered the question for a moment. ”Ten minutes. Give or take two minutes,” she said seriously. Antoinette looked back at the fight ahead and rotated her neck around a couple of times. She was desperately tired but they were far from done.

Mystery

Location: Random Forest – New York City
Skills: Hand to Hand Combat;

Haze was what Mystery would call a friend in this missed up, every person for themselves world. Normally, Mystery would simply laugh through the pain. She had fought with broken limbs before, like the nose or an arm, but her pain was overwhelming her at the moment. Both arms and a nose. It was not an ideal situation.
And then she was thrown into darkness. If anything, Guin had just done Mystery a favour by attacking her telepathically. The pain was gone. Everything was gone into blissful nothingness.

Ezekiel Kel

Ezekiel couldn’t believe what Janelle was saying, especially since she had already been on a quest with him once before. When he was on a quest, he was all in it. Maybe he joked around a little, harassed Kristin but he listened to direction, made suggestions and more importantly, worked with all three of them. Worked with her in order to help her win. And now she was telling him the entire group’s lack of communication was all on him?
Ezekiel started seeing red. His knuckles cracked from squeezing his hands so hard to keep from turning around and yelling at her. She was hurting. She was pissed. She was whatever she was feeling, and Zeke was the punching bag. Fine. He could be the punching bag but not in front of everyone. He shifted in his seat and looked back at Janelle. He spoke at a normal volume but there was restrained anger in his voice.
”Now is not the time? Seriously Janelle? Then why the hell did you bring it up in the first place? If you have a problem with me, take me aside and let’s work this out because if you have that much of a problem with me then we need to talk about it before we go to Hotel Hell and have to try and survive while also completing the quest.”
She walked away and Zeke turned back around, a scowl on his face while he crossed his arms and glared out the window. He was still aware of Demetri on his lap, but he was in his own head about how everything had gotten so screwed up that he didn’t pay much attention to his boyfriend or Kristin’s voice saying she was going on a walk-about.

Antoinette was glad Bethany decided to team up with her. That would at least give them a fighting chance. At least she thought it would. Klara came after them both, barely pausing as she took Bethany out and then Antoinette. She landed on the ground and didn’t have time to stand when she felt the point of Klara’s sword on her throat. Antoinette swallowed, feeling the sharpness of her sword.
”Please. We are just trying to get home. We don’t belong here,” Antoinette added on. She pulled back from the sword a bit so it wouldn’t be so straining to talk but Antoinette didn’t dare move more. She could barely think past the sword being pointed at her.

Mystery

Location: Random Forest – New York City

Mystery merely grinned at Guin when she called her clinically insane. Mystery had spent some time in a lab so maybe she was. There wasn’t much time for Mystery to come up with a comeback. Mystery admired Guin’s spunk and her ability to throw a punch. In that same sense, Mystery could also take a punch. Guin punched her three times, but Mystery was still standing. She was laughing, broken nose and all but she was still standing.
Mystery went to set her nose when she got thrown sideways. It took Mystery completely by surprise and she shouted in alarm before she landed on the ground. Her right arm snapped under her, and she cried out as a chunk of wood went through her left arm. Tears filled Mystery’s eyes and her breathing became ragged. She sucked in a shaky breath as she moved carefully.
”Haze,” she called out shakily. ”Haze, I need you!”

Cassiopeia Hood

Cassiopeia was barely aware of Rosalia’s outburst. She simply stared into the distance until Flynn ran off and Robin gave instructions to gather supplies. Cassi moved mechanically as she looked for items but didn’t really see anything. Her sister passed off arrows and Cassi replenished her supply, following actions that seemed correct but didn’t really register with her.
Cassi wandered away from the group but remained in the clearing. Her feet took her over to the first man she had shot down. She stared down at him. His skin had started to pale, and he remained unmovable. Cassi visually saw what her brain was desperately trying to comprehend but nothing made sense.

The news of Aladdin’s passing was bitter-sweet. Aurora had extended an invitation to Willow to return home with her once their task was complete. She was thrilled from the opportunity, but the news reminded her that life was very much sort.
Willow didn’t hesitate to walk through the portal into Merlin’s tower. It was like they were home free now. She sighed and found a chair to sit in and relax. What came nex,t she wasn’t sure, but she just wanted to sit in silent bliss for a moment.
Ezekiel Kel

Ezekiel tried to ignore the purring in his ear so he could focus on what the others were saying. It was rather difficult, and he lost track a few times, but he didn’t miss Nancy’s movement. He watched her stand abruptly, not being able to say the biggest weakness to her and well, everyone on this trip before she departed, saying he could tell the group. Ezekiel watched Nancy leave until she disappeared into her new seat. He slowly turned back around and started tapping the side of his leg in a nervous rhythm.
It wasn’t like they had talked about this part before. Nancy had told him not to say anything and now she wanted him to. There was a fine line of saying too much and not enough and Ezekiel had no idea where that line was. Before he could even say anything, the others all divulged their weaknesses and secrets. Ezekiel half listened as he tried to figure out what to say.
During that time, Demi moved from Zeke’s shoulders to his lap and Zeke used the distraction to clear his mind. He had seen cats before but never owned one or been friends with one. It was strange to have one sitting in his lap now. Stranger still to have one speaking.
”Wait, shadows following you? How long has that been going on?” Between Cassian and Demi, it seemed there was a lot that the demi-gods were keeping to themselves. He shook his head and looked out the window for a moment before speaking.
”You know Nancy’s been inside the Lotus Hotel already, she ended up trapped there in the 80s. Unable to age and everything. Well, something incredibly traumatic happened to her that none of you need to know about in order to get the job done as far as I am concerned but that is her biggest weakness. The Lotus Hotel. Period. But she is here all the same because she understands the importance of a quest. So, even if the rest of us don’t get along or are mad at someone, we need to put our differences aside for this mission because Nancy is sacrificing a lot to be here and lead us back to her own personal hell and if we want to get out of that cursed place alive, we need to listen to what she has to say and do what she tells us to.” Ezekiel finished and stared at the black cat in his lap. Up until this point he hadn’t touched Demi but now he rested a hand on the cat and found his fur to be quite soft. How strange. He used the textile distraction to keep him from worrying if he had spoken true for Nancy or simply disappointed her.

Cassiopeia Hood

Everyone, aside from Rosalia, agreed on taking out the bad guys before they could do anymore damage. Cassi was still on the fence. She understood the need to protect themselves and their cover but what would have been the issue with knocking the bad guys out and tying them up in order to get some distance?
As Cassi deliberated with her moral compass, her mind flashed to when Rose, trapped in a net being dragged behind a horse and their rider. The fear and rage she had experienced put her in the mindset of needing to do anything to save Rose. Even killing. In that scenario, it was either kill or be taken, killed, or tortured. Cassiopeia wasn’t completely okay with her current conclusion, but it allowed her to reach for another arrow.
Cassi didn’t realize she was shaking until she held the arrow, lost her grip on it and it tumbled to the ground. Cassi stared at the arrow on the ground, frozen for a moment as her mind tried to process and keep up with what was going on around her. She had to keep moving though and she reached for the arrow, even though it felt as if she was moving through molasses. She put it to her bow, took aim and fired. Her arrow soared through the sky and impaled itself into the head of an enemy. Cassi’s eyes glazed over and she looked away, no longer processing the action happening around her, and put her bow away. Subconsciously deciding she was done.

Of course, Aurora would be going back to her home right away. She had her own people and problems to worry about. Still, Willow wasn’t ready to be separated from her long-lost mother.
”In that case, I would like to return with you.” Willow wanted to see the place she was born, know the people who she would have seen and spoken with daily.
The group finally moved out of the creepy, sand filled tomb to an aboveground home. Willow had to admit that she was impressed with the elaborate escape routes Agrabah had. The house they stood in didn’t look like much, but it was full of surprises. Jasmine and some of the others were pulling out supplies from hidden compartments. Willow watched them but stayed with her mother, eagerly waiting for her reply.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Random Forest – New York City

Nightlocke’s power enveloped Antoinette and it immediately caused her to lose concentration and drop her illusions and guard. Antoinette’s breath became shallow briefly as darkness took over her every sense. She could hear some of the sounds happening around her but they were muffled as if she were underwater. ”You’re fine, breathe,” she muttered to herself and focused on her breathing.
The shadows around Antoinette faded and she looked to see her attacker, but Bethany quickly spoke which allowed Antoinette to pause and take in who she was looking at. Nightlocke style was quite different from Bethany’s. She sighed and nodded in response to Bethany.
”I’m fine but maybe we should tag team a villain?” Antoinette looked around, sizing up who they could attack together.

Mystery

Mystery’s eyes widened in surprise as she felt the tickling in her head. The beginning of sensory overload. Mystery’s original illusion projected onto Guin had lost some of its power, so it didn’t affect her quite as badly. Besides, Mystery was used to a little mental manipulation and pain. Aiming to retaliate, Guin beat her to the punch. Literally.
Mystery’s head snapped back as Guin landed her hit to her face. Just as Mystery was looking back at Guin, she landed another hit and Mystery fell flat on her ass. She started to laugh. Mystery sat up, blood dripping down from her nose onto her upper lip and she licked it off before smiling.
”I haven’t had this much fun in years.” Mystery shifted her weight into a crouch before sweeping her leg out, knocking Guin to the ground. Mystery scrambled over to try and land her own punch to Guin’s face, but she failed both times and only succeeded in hitting the ground; apparently, the punch to her own face caused more than just blood to flow.
Mystery started to laugh again at her failed attempts and stood to her feet. She stepped back, giving distance between Guin and her so she couldn’t hit her again physically.
Ezekiel Kel

Ezekiel took a seat next to Kristin, opting not to sit beside Nancy due to the pet dragon she had and assumed it may want to harass Demi and they really didn’t need to draw any attention to themselves on the train. As it was, Ezekiel was trying to relax. The purring helped some, but it was also rather annoying. Ezekiel had never had a pet, so the sound was new to him.
”You don’t need to be that loud,” Zeke mumbled to Demi before he focused on the group and Kristin’s question. The idea of revealing his weaknesses was unappealing to him, but he took one look at Nancy and sighed. For the good of the group, he reminded himself.
”Well, archery of course, I’m also proficient with a murakumo. I’m not particularly fond of heights or the dark. For obvious reasons.” He said, a slight glow shifting over him before disappearing. A son of Apollo, it made sense Ezekiel feared complete darkness. He didn’t mind moonlit nights, finding comfort in that due to Apollo’s twin sister but no light, it was like suffocating to him.

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: The Moors

Cassiopeia nodded her head from side to side and shrugged at Rosalia’s statement. ”True, accidents do happen.” There were animal attacks every year in the woods back home. Cassi and Layla held classes to make sure people were bear aware and smart when it came to venturing into a wild animal’s backyard. Still, things did happen.
Layla agreed on leaving the horses and the others agreed to taking the men out. Cassiopeia shifted so she could take a few out with her bow. Hopefully. She wasn’t having the best of luck lately in that department.
Cassi went through the familiar motion of notching an arrow, pulling back, lining up her target and then fired. If it had been an animal, it would have been a perfect kill. Quick and easy, leaving the prey limited time to release adrenaline and poison the meat. But it was a human Cassi shot in the neck, not an animal.
The man seemed to drop in slow motion, but Cassi was sure it was faster than that. She slowly lowered her bow, staring at the man she shot. She just killed a man. Cassi had envisioned killing people before, particularly her horrible foster parents from years past. She watched Tarantino movies religiously and he had a beautiful way of killing a bunch of people, but nothing could have prepared her for this. Cassi looked to Robin, wondering what to do now. There were still six enemies running around.

The look Aurora gave her daughter filled Willow with excitement. It was a look that expressed how much a ruler cared about her home. The way it was described made it sound beautiful and enchanting. Willow hoped to see it one day soon.
They entered a chamber that seemed vast and all encompassing. Creatures crawled along the ground and some on the walls. Willow moved closer to her mother until she felt the comfort of another warm body. She kept an eye on the scorpions while Jasmine lit more torches. It didn’t help matters now that Willow could see better. She looked around the chamber, seeing the old crumbling structures and look of neglect. She frowned a little but pushed forward with the group.
”When do you plan on going back?” Willow continued with her conversation with Aurora from before.
