The primal urge to obsessively access your uni portal to see if your classes have been released, so you can read the syllabi thirty-seven times before class next week.

Annika Falling Star

Location: Forest, Upper Canada —> Limbo
Skills:
Spells:

Time had no meaning to Annika when she was in the middle of a fight. All that registered were the sounds of her people’s war cries mingled with the sounds of death. The smell of wet earth and burning flesh was a peculiar combination but oddly reassuring. That smell brought her back to her human form and the searing pain in her shoulder.
Annika scrambled back, feeling the pain intensify with the shifting, but she was still fighting. A gunshot went off, causing Annika to flinch. The smell of gunpowder quickly filled the air. Annika glared at her assailant, snapped the arrow shaft off, and retrieved her knife.
The white man charged her, screaming his own battle cry as he pinned her to the ground, digging his thumb into the wound at her shoulder. Annika screamed and thrashed, but the man was strong.

Suddenly, Annika is yanked back. Her hands went to her throat, dropping her knife in the process. She kicked and thrashed, trying to get her attacker to let go. A brilliant white light fills the room before Annika is thrown into darkness.

Silence.

There are no screams here. No gunshots or the sound of arrows slicing through the air. She only recognizes the scent of blood in the air, thick enough to taste. Annika looks down. With her hands trembling, she assesses her body. She had seen women taken by white men and feared the worst. Blessedly, her hands are clean; Annika lets out a deep sigh of gratitude and prays to the Creator. Her hands then move to her damaged shoulder. A strange cloak now covers the wound and is accompanied by a new necklace that clashes horribly with her mothers. She shifts back onto her knees to examine the new items more properly when she feels the tugging again. Annika scrambles to her feet; hands lose by her sides as she turns in a tight circle. She has no weapon to fight with but her hands and the ability to shift form. A gift from her Creator to help combat the changes occurring in her homeland.

The cloak tightens around her, seemingly of its own free will, and Annika is stunned. She feels a shift of something within the cloak and pulls out a white paper. It reminds her of her journal, a small thing from her father that she carries with her always, even into battle.
The words on the paper reveal themselves to her but hold little meaning. She can read English well, but the name and titles are unrecognizable. Is this a friend of her father’s? The words she understands, no matter the context, are spells, protection, and death. Before Annika can process, yellow light circles around her, sparking strangely, and then she falls. And falls. And falls. Annika’s mouth is open in a silent scream until she lands on feet that instantly give out on her. She drops to her knees and hands with the letter still gripped in her hand. The cloak pulls her to her feet, but she barely registers it as she looks up and around. Birds call out to her. Vultures. She recognizes the death omen instantly and backs up. There is nothing around her — mountains in the far distance and a blood-red sky, but nothing within reach.

”Skeon?” She calls out. Annika takes a step forward and another until she is walking in an unknown direction to an unknown destination.

Cassiopeia Hood

The idea of being jostled around on horseback with an injured leg was unappealing to Cassi. She was probably going to vomit by the end of this. How attractive. Cassi looked down at her injured leg, feeling the swelling and the irritation. She sighed and looked up at Rose. ”If you let me fall, friends off.”
If anything, Cassi was hoping she would pass out on the way back to Rupunzel’s from the pain. It would suck to have to be awake through all of it. She kept breathing steadily, thinking of returning to the tower where she would be safe and fixed up. She just had to make it there. Hang on a little longer, Hood.

Willow shrugged at Jack’s comment. Maybe the air was better here, but it didn’t make up for the cleanliness she felt was necessary, like proper shampoo, body wash, and deodorant. She didn’t realize how much she loved all her hair products and make-up until she had to try and make do without. Not to mention the dirt inside the houses. The bugs. Yes, Rapunzel tried to keep a sterile environment, but it was no hospital.
”I think the stories we were told, at least by Disney, were a bit more sugar-coated than they are.” Some of the tales here were a little more Grimms with a splash of Disney. Or completely off. That was the thing with reality. It’s never what you think it should be.

Ezekiel Kel

Location: Outside
Skills:

Zeke was aware of Janelle's presence, but Kristin was already handling that, so he stayed present with Nancy. He smiled crookedly at Nancy’s threat, not able to help himself. Nancy’s fire was what made her, her. It was her cocoon as much as it was her personality. ”Good. I’d expect nothing less out of a future hunter.” If she weren’t worried about taking out family, she wouldn’t make it as a hunter, but because she backed down, it showed integrity and loyalty. It also lessened the tension in Zeke’s chest. He didn’t want to battle his sister.
Ezekiel glanced around them when Nancy refused to go to the hotel and that she was done with the quest. He wished they never needed her in the first place. He thought it cruel to make her go back to that hell hole. His hands balled into fists once more as he thought about punching his father in the face and the people that trapped Nancy there in the first place. Ezekiel stared at one spot for a long time, breathing deeply to calm himself before he looked at his half-sister.
”Then let’s go. I hate this stupid quest anyways. Besides, I punched a god in the face. I highly doubt my absence will be missed. It might save everyone else if I leave.” Deep down, Zeke wanted to add that they couldn’t go. He wanted to add that this was Nancy’s chance to get her revenge. To burn the bloody place to the ground before she left for the Hunters of Artemis. To fight next to him in a real battle before she left him forever.

Even though Cassiopeia wasn’t contributing much, she was still out of breath when they stopped behind a bush. She flinched a little when Rose shouted for her father. Hood was her last name too, but it sounded like she was the one getting yelled at. Luckily, they spotted a supply wagon.
”I say we go for the wagon. It will make it much faster for us to get where we need to go. Maybe once we are close enough, we can ditch the wagon and make it the rest of the way on foot to disguise our tracks.”

Belle had a brilliant smile; it was utterly mesmerising. Willow felt herself come back into her own when she felt pressure around her shoulders. She looked over to see Sierra had put her arm around her. She felt herself wanting to lean against Sierra and stare at her for the rest of time. Sierra spoke, then looked at Willow. Willow’s heart thumped, creating a rising heat up her neck. She turned her head quickly, glancing at the ground before looking at Belle.
”Our world has 'fairy-tales'. They mention all of you, but they are merely stories. And it's cleaner there,” she confessed. ”I’m definitely not one to be found camping. More of a five-star resort person.”

@Moroseya that's just her waking up in limbo

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: SPACE! Again…
Skills: Enhanced Intuition;

Neil and Mira talking brought up old memories that made Antoinette smile despite the context. They had come a long way and been through a lot together. She continued to walk forward with the group, looking around cautiously while Bethany tried to scout ahead in her shadow form. Antoinette hoped she was successful.
Meanwhile, Antoinette’s blue eye started to sparkle as she taped into her enhanced intuition. This place was large, but not that large. She had a feeling they would run into someone soon and was wondering how soon that would be. Her gut feeling wasn’t always spot on, but she was hoping to contribute in some way.

Cassiopeia opened up her eyes to see Rose and smiled tiredly. ”Thank you,” she said searched for Rose’s hand to squeeze. An arrow landed on the ground beside them, followed by several more. Cassi groaned, looking towards the castle where archers lined the wall. Layla started tugging on her, and Cass sighed as she accepted help from both women in her life. She leaned most of her weight on them while they limped into the tree line.
Cass started to feel frustrated with her injury. She was slowing them down. She didn’t want to say outright for them to leave her. The idea of being left alone terrified her, but Cassi felt terrible for needing to be looked after in this way. At least she still had the backpack with the laptop safely inside.

Willow’s eyes widened at Jack’s parental news. Her brain worked a million miles a second as she recalled the Disney movie and her psychology studies. She didn’t know Jack well, but it explained some of his outward personality. Then, Belle came over to them. Willow’s eyes widened as she stared at another actual princess. She blushed when Belle held her hand out.
Willow hesitated, caught between wanting to bow and shake Belle’s hand. It didn’t help that she was gorgeous. Wait, what?
”Hi…hi,” she stammered. ”It’s an honour to meet you.” Willow shook Belle’s hand before clasping her hands together.
