”But I can’t help it.” I wiggle closer to them, bury my head into their neck and kiss Nero there several times before I pull away, grinning. ”Alright, I’ll have Henry send us up something.” I left myself over Nero and flopped onto the other side of them. I grab my phone and quickly message the kitchen staff to have two plates brought up. I look at Nero.

”If you need, you can shower in the guestroom. Or you can join me in mine if you think you can survive it,” I tempt. I know I certainly wouldn’t be able to if they showered with me.

I smile at that, happy Nero found some semblance of peace here. With me. I keep them close until I feel myself starting to doze again. I yawn, open my eyes back up, and focus on the wall to keep from falling asleep again.

”Hast du geschlafen?” I asked curiously. I brush their hair back and kiss their temple, unable to resist. I shut my eyes again for the time being, enjoying Nero’s presence and the quiet morning. I know I’ll have to get up soon to get ready to leave. I suddenly wonder if Nero will come with me or what they will do if they don’t.

My purring alarm clocks wake me the next morning. ”Yes, yes, alright. Come along.” I get up and yawn, shuffling to the kitchen to feed and water the alarm clocks. I double-checked the time and sighed. I have a couple of hours to dress and get ready before Caden gets here. While the cats eat, I head to the bathroom to wash up and wake up a bit more.

Sometime in the middle of the night, Nero and I change places. I wake to having them in my arms and I smile sleepy. I pull Nero in closer before kissing their neck. ”Guten Morgen,” I mumble onto their neck. I loosen my hold, but don’t let go completely.

I slept rather well. I never had a problem sleeping beside someone, but I feel more rested this morning.

”Gute Nacht, mein kleiner Kobold.” I lean over, resting my fingers under their chin and kiss them softly and then deeply. I enjoy the moment before pulling back.

”Wake me if you get too bored,” I say with a wink. I slip under the covers and wiggle down until I find a comfortable position and fall asleep. ”I’m also a fan of cuddling. If you grow tired of reading,” I mumble into the pillow.

I watch them bound around the room before returning to the bed. I chuckle and shake my head. ”By all means,” I say. I excuse myself from the bedroom to wash up for the night and change for bed. Changing consists of no shirt and wearing only boxer briefs to bed. To be fair, I normally don’t wear anything to bed, but I decided that wouldn’t be the best idea. I can’t wear a shirt, though. I’m a furnace when I sleep, and it’s maddeningly uncomfortable.

I return to the bedroom and shut the main light off. The bedside lamp remains on, however, for Nero to read by. I crawl back into bed, switching sides with Nero, so they are closer to the light source.

”Well, for Nic’s sake, I’m glad you resisted. Although, the next time he comes, around I’m not banishing you to one part of the house,” I inform them. I kiss the top of Nero’s head again. I drink some more wine and fall into an easy conversation with Nero. Eventually, though, I grow tired and yawn.

”Are you going to stay or wander?” I ask Nero, standing up.

I rest my arm over their shoulders once they cuddle into me. I chuckled when Nero claimed to have gotten bored. ”The books were to ensure you didn't get bored,” I teased. I sip my wine and start to rub their arm lightly with my hand. The silk is cool on my hands. I don't seem to mind Nero in silk as much as I do when I'm in it.

I smile as the door opens. I take in the silk top and their bare legs once again. I chuckle. ”Well, that’s good, 'cause they both have a rather insatiable appetite,” I note.

I walk back into the room and set the wine and glasses on a table I have. I open the bottle and pour us both a drink. I had Nero a glass, clinking it with mine before taking a sip.

”Hast du etwas in den Büchern gefunden?” I ask them to both make conversation and keep me from throwing them on the bed. I walk back to the bed, build up some pillows and sit down to stretch out. I smile at Nero and pat the space next to me.
