I'm a weeaboo communist. Are you surprised?

EDIT: You probably are now, but I'm not going to tell you why you wouldn't have been like two years ago. You get to agonize over that yourself.

Can I have the mechanical reaper first? That way when the factories come along not everyone is focused on being a farmer. And while this may seem a bit mean im gonna put it down to a lack of religion, it was the dark ages that slowed human development and those ages were fueled by religion.

Churches could also be credited with the beginning of public education, honestly, I don't think much would change aside from the lack of churches. Absence of religion would most likely only increase our technological development now, as we have begun to come across theories that completely disprove religion and thus an "us vs. them" mentality has formed. Obviously, without religion we would be more advanced due to the absence of doctrine, but not significant enough to throw us a century forward. The Dark Ages honestly didn't make that much of a difference, the technology at the time means that very few discoveries have been made, as scientific development is exponential. Of course, without doctrine we would have learned far more about our surroundings, and have many technologies that were theoretical in the 1700's, but nothing more. Instead, I would put it down as an alternate universe quirk, maybe the humans here are significantly more willing to work together, or perhaps one person existed who invented steam power earlier than the date it occurred in our own universe.

Also, I doubt that there is no religion here, it probably just hasn't been shown by anyone yet. I believe I somewhat implied the existence of multiple different belief systems coexisting in my nation, so perhaps the religions here have relaxed doctrines compared to those in our own universe. Besides, without religion we could have no holy wars, and someone will undoubtedly want to have one at some point. Besides preventing offense, marking it down to tolerant religions is more plausible than having no religion, as it is somewhat of a universal thing in cultural development. Caveman looks at ground, wonders how ground got there. Caveman looks at shy, sees stars. Caveman is afraid, Caveman wants someone to keep him safe. Caveman decides the stars made ground, and are watching over him, and thus begins religion. Obviously that is only how most religions begin, if you are religions do not take that as an attack on your religion, it is just how most begin. I'm not naming anything so that you can view that as something that happened to start the religions you do not subscribe to. If you hold strong beliefs, do not react to any comments here regarding those beliefs and their validity, as I do not want to see this whole thing torn apart by a flame war. Those are bad. Apologies to anyone who does not share my views and/or finds them impossible due to their own beliefs, I do not mean to offend.

Sukui, I have a race idea that you may be interested in. It's based off of, yes, Orson Scott Card and one of his creations, and I think it'd be a very unique opportunity. PM me?

That is a good idea for an app. That pretty much guarantees an acceptance by me, because Orson Scott Card is just that great of a writer. I don't agree with him on a huge pile of matters, but when it comes to sci-fi writing, he is unsurpassed. Can't wait to see the app!

better?

Hmm... significant improvement, but it enters my personal grey zone. I have no opinion until further arguments are made.

Name of Group: Merrick's RangersType:Private Military ContractorsAssets:Small Base in the Bahamas used for training,Recruitment, and motor poolPersonnel:1000 (400 Operators the other 600 are misc personnel cooks, mechanics, gunsmiths,ETC) History:Merrick's Rangers were a split off of a private military corporation after the war they were the deep reconnaissance and Intelligence gathering arm of the corporation that was led by Merrick's forebear they participated in the war and fought together marking targets for the countries who hired them they made it big and soon they became known as Paulson's Rangers but towards the end of the war Paulson died and left control of the group to him from that day forward they became known as Merrick's rangers.Merrick knew he was going to have to find someplace safe and sound after the war so leaving behind the now bankrupt company he bought out his former training base and now uses it to launch operations across the globe for the right price.

We do not have insanely high standards here, but we like to keep it at or above what seems to be called "high casual" or "low advanced" here. There is no way such a tiny app is going to be accepted, it contains only the most basic hard facts. Tell us more, when did they split off? Who founded the original company? Why did they do it? What are Merrick's goals and ambitions? Who is he? What drives him? (unless that is planned for character development) What sort of weapons does the group use, is it old gear or some sort of experimental device? Do they have distinctive vehicles and weapons, or do they buy them off the market? Will the group kill anyone for a few bucks, no matter what the motivation of the person hiring them? Or will they refuse services to people with goals or motivations they consider immoral? Do they have any opinions on other NGOs and nations, or are they indifferent? Are they only in it for the cash, or do they have some greater motivation? Give us something to work with other than "They have guns and will shoot those guns at other people for money". A lot of people here spent more than one day on their apps, you have apparently spent a few minutes unless you're a really slow typer. This post itself is longer than your entire app, and if you had looked at other apps here, they have multiple paragraphs of history. Your history is acceptable as a short summary of a section of the history seen in Aaron's app. If you want to join, you're going to need a much better app.

I am unsure if this is something you want to know, but you did ask to be told about creditable commitment, so I think this is relevant.

I am the GM of Void of the Star II, a sci-fi nation roleplay. It is the direct sequel to Void of the Stars, which was the sequel to the Star Empires Reboot, which was a reboot to the original Star Empires, which begun in 2012. Some of the people currently roleplaying in Void of the Stars II were there from that start in 2012, and I would like to thank them for their commitment to the roleplay and sticking with it throughout the insanely OP messes and abandoned plot lines. They're really committed to Void of the Stars, and they have given me and surely everyone else countless hours of fun and involved roleplaying. They are a great group, and I believe that they deserve commendation for being one.
I may join this, but I'll have to flesh out my character first, as so far they have only appeared when I decide to tear apart the fourth wall.
Also, this is the best idea I have ever seen.
Throne Room, Kwedolobhakalle
"Jade! Jade!"
The call came from Vanjana's relations minister, who was running across the floor towards the throne. He was wearing a quite common formal suit, mostly white with outlines of gold placed wherever the owner saw fit. In his case, there was a ring of gold around the collar and golden outlines on his boots. The man himself was in his 50's, with common streaks of grey hair and a well-trimmed beard on his face. He was wearing a flat square hat, white and outlined with gold-colored lace just like the rest of his suit.
"Jade, the Cartographer's Guild is demanding payment for the map, apparently, they didn't like it when you literally ripped it right out of their hands and then neglected to give them anything for the entire season." He said, the thinly veiled jab being made even less veiled by his tone of voice.
"Then we'll pay them, send the Guild one billion Frya and have one of their members installed as governor on the next colony we create. Hopefully that will pacify them. If it does not, then we shall take every chance to increase relations with them. We don't want to be mysteriously left out on any other discoveries, now do we? I will write a personal apology to the Guild as well."
"Understood, Jade! I shall deliver the order! Ah yes, there is the matter of the strange vessel off the coast... the 'Mighty Hammer'." Said the minister, with some hesitation.
"Is that not nothing more than a myth?" Replied Sigfrid "A hundred years at sea, it is simply impossible."
"Those who claim to have seen it say otherwise, perhaps an investigation would be prudent? If not to see if it is true or not, then to simply pacify those who fear the idea of the myth being true."
"Well then, we shall send a force to investigate the area of our coast it was last sighted in. No matter what, we are not going to cause an international incident by sailing warships into foreign waters. I want one Frigate, and two Barques sent to investigate."
"Yes, Jade. That is all."

Letter to the Cartographer's Guild, From Jade Sigfrid Halvar
I apologize for neglecting your great contribution to the United Vanjanan Empire. It seems that in my rush to plan for the New World, I forgot about you and the brave people who discovered the New World and generously brought us the information. As it is far later than would normally be socially acceptable, I have chosen to give you one billion Frya for your troubles, and I hereby promise to install one of your members as governor of the next colony we establish in the New World.
-Sincerest Apologies, Jade Sigfrid Halvar, United Vanjanan Empire.
Lakfakalle
"Lakfakalle Cooperative Federation Exploratory Command, you have been granted permission to land. Firing shield breaker... hole opened. Landing tractors one through fifteen online, landing bay online, armor deployed. We are prepared for your arrival."

LIV Terminator
"Send a message to all ships, order a jump to the Ortels System with military objectives!" Yelled Kuuyi to the bridge crew "Set course and activate warp drive!"
"Understood Captain! Negative mass shifting, particle-lever tractor system operational, weapons covered for transport! Apparent velocity is 0.1c... 0.5c... 0.9c... lightspeed! 2c... 3... 4... activating valves ten through fifty... we are at emergency response speed!"
The Terminator, Challenger and Starfire had been dispatched to investigate the distress signal. Despite the Starfire only being equipped with projectile weaponry, Fairlan had insisted that he and his crew come along. After a few moments of traveling at emergency response speed, the fleet had reached its destination and ejected their negative mass, releasing a truly massive cloud of radiation behind them as a result of having traveled so far. Being in a straight line to avoid any adverse effects caused by the warp drive, they maneuvered into a combat formation with the Starfire in the center back, the Terminator in the front left, and the Challenger in the front right. The Starfire broadcast a message to the rest of the system.
"This is Captain Miklan of the Lakfakalle Interstellar Vessel Starfire, we recieved a distress call from this system and have come to assist. However, we see no evidence of an invading fleet and no evidence of a currently inhabited planet. If anyone is picking this up, please explain immediately. If this whole thing has been a trap, I would suggest that you stay outside of ten light seconds of our fleet, antiproton streams are a very effective weapon."

Colonial Report
=Wormrad Transmission to Lakfakalle Cooperative Federation Expansion Office=
=Origin point: Thilin'Kahnthas'Thishtan, Planet Lakfanikolien, Nikolien System. Governor's Office=
"Good, we've finally got enough negative mass to make another transmission. We have named this system and its star Nikolien, after the inventor of wireless transmission and first Child of Lakfakalle to set foot on Terra. Of course, we have named the planet in Ancient Baronh just like Lakfakalle, the name Lakfanikolien meaning 'Companion of Nikolien'. A Boskop astronomer submitted the name 'Thilin'Kahnthas'Thishtan' for the Colony, meaning 'Greatest Endeavor' in Trilihanshisken. That same astronomer happened to find an anomaly orbiting the ninth planet in the system. We sent our defense ship to investigate, the anomaly is an expanding spherical object with a current radius of about ten kilometers, and it glows blue. It appears to give off immense amounts of energy, enough to power the entirety of Lakfakalle. We sent in a probe, but when it came back... it... its current state of existence is completely impossible. There is still somehow the image, but no light is reflecting off of it and it has no mass. As I'm sure you know, everything in that sentence is completely and totally impossible according to the most basic and inflexible scientific laws known by our people since the theory of gravity! None of our scientists can figure out how it could be possible even by twisting the laws of physics into figure eights using quantum physics theories! Everyone that has seen the probe in person has gone insane, and one simply collapsed right there... his heart beats no more. We have tried to fire on the probe, but nothing happened, our rounds passed right through it as if it were a hologram. Using robots, we have managed to take images of the remaining atoms of the probe. Yes, it has no mass, but also has atoms, impossible. Seeing the images results in death, always by suicide. We are requesting a warship equipped with energy shielding to investigate the anomaly, under no circumstances are you to allow knowledge of this to reach civilians, file all data under Anomaly 0001, Kosheck. Alert the Equestrian Empire of this discovery, they are the most advanced alien species we have encountered, perhaps they know something of this."

Message to the Equestrian Empire
"This is Conduit Aweyta Olok of the Hyacintho Mental Collective, representing the Lakfakalle Cooperative Federation. Our outermost colony has encountered an anomaly which they have described as an expanding spherical object with a ten kilometer radius as of the transmission, which glows blue. They sent a probe in, and it came back in a state that is quite literally physically impossible. They say that the image is still there, despite no light reflecting off the probe, which no longer has any mass. All who have seen the probe in person have gone insane, one just dropped dead. They used robots to take pictures of the atoms-yes, there are still atoms despite there being no mass-all who have seen those images have committed suicide. Nobody in the Federation has any idea how this is possible, we are requesting your assistance with this matter. Do not tell your citizens of this, it presents a danger to everyone. The anomaly and probe are in the closest system to the Kalle system, which we have named Nikolien. If you assist us, please take proper measures to protect your crew from the anomaly. Our scientists have used supercomputers to analyze the image of the probe's atoms, and have determined that energy or plasma shields would protect a ship from whatever happened to it inside the anomaly. Interestingly enough, argon plasma shielding seems to be the most effective. That is the same type of shielding the defense platforms of Lakfakalle use, so we believe there may be a connection of some sort between the anomaly and the ancient Aif Empire."

Wilson, he has 100,000 Ships which he essentially described of being invunerable and being able to destroy our ships with ease.If I had applied with the Collective and given them 100,000 ships it would have been denied. I am not interested in his size so much as his ships individual power, which is basically being godlike AND has about 200 times more ships than anyone else.

He has 100 ships! There were once 100,000 ships, now there are 100! Read his app before you deny it!
LIS Terminator
"It has no potential for fleetwide losses if all vessels enter the system in a horizontal line, no radiation has ever been emitted from the sides of a vessel. Normally, I would respect your decision, but we have another ship of this same class nearby, and no weaponry we have seen matched the power of our antiproton streamers. This mission will require us to succeed, I'm absolutely positive. We cannot participate in the scouting mission, however. Our drives are too expensive. If we send ships to an area that may contain enemies, we intend to destroy those enemies. If the scouts find anything, we can amass a fleet at the closest friendly colony and launch a combined assault on the area. However, if-"
Right in the middle of her sentence, the Captain was interrupted by the comms officer running into the room.
"Captain! We have picked up a distress call from the Ortels system, it is requesting planetary defense assistance!"
"Fleetmaster, you may want to leave now." Said Kuuyi "We're going to enter a battlezone, and we could very well be destroyed. Unless you're planning to come with us, you should return to your ship and hail the planet, ask to be redirected to Exploratory Command. They handle interstellar military operations."
