Up until today I've never had any trouble with my EUIV Japan games. Today I got stomped five times in a row before even uniting the country.

I'm a weeaboo communist. Are you surprised?

EDIT: You probably are now, but I'm not going to tell you why you wouldn't have been like two years ago. You get to agonize over that yourself.

Alien Incursion
Try as they might, the EA translation computers could not crack the language. It was simply too... alien. When the hacking was detected, they attempted to disconnect the attacking systems to no avail. While it's no secret that EA virtual security is pretty bad, they can usually lock out one or two invaders. After studying the formation of the new contact, it has been determined that they either had preliminary scans of the system (which has minimal security) or were simply here for diplomatic purposes. As such, a single diplomatic vessel was sent along with 20 attack ships, 10 patrol ships, and two battleships. With weapons charged and shields up, they cautiously approach the alien fleet. A single message is played on loop throughout the approach. Containing a pictorial dictionary and the best translation matrix they could prepare, nobody expects it to be that effective.
"EA Plantary Defense Fleet 024 to unknown contact, state intentions. If you are the origin of the hacking of our computer systems, you know our language. Our translation technology for some reason cannot understand your own. If that was a test, we have failed. We do not wish for another war right now, you probably already know that we played a role in the recent multi-galactic conflict. Our people do not enjoy fighting, unless the enemy attacks first and struck because of differing beliefs. Please respond, I repeat, please respond."

Orc Diplomacy
The president bows slightly, and returns to his normal position after a couple moments.
"President Dmitri Saveli, Inferior One at your service. It is an honor to speak with you face to face. To the left of me is Empress... Ablïarsec néïc Dobreuscr... Bœrh Parhynr Lamhirh, who fought as a captain during the Draconian War and earned her title and place as spokeswoman as per Abh tradition. On the other side is the robotic avatar of Master Tactician Ckit-Nah Klen Tah, who was elected by his people to the position of spokesman and earned his place as Master Tactician through military promotion."
The Empress and Master Tactician bow as well, but the Master Tactician has a bit of trouble as he is still breaking in the new avatar (Dolphins are notoriously hard to connect with avatars).
"It would be an honor to one day have Abh ships fly alongside yours, Overlord." Says the Empress, right after standing up from bowing.
"I am always happy to meet another land species, we have much to learn from each other." Says the Master Tactician, likewise.
"Now, what is it that you wish to discuss here?"
Expansion
With the Triarian expansion program, the EA has decided to essentially copy their program with EA technology. They have begun launching warp missiles filled with nanobots at planets to lay claim to them, increasing the speed at which planets are taken over. The EA continues to race towards Front 01 in search of better technology, their goal being the dark matter technology seen in draconian ships. If they can get it, then it would make the production of energy much easier, thus allowing increased negative energy production.

Orc Diplomacy
Dmitri Saveli rushed to the hangar of the huge Abh-designed station, which, in Abh style (a part of the quickly-developed culture) was painted entirely green. The hangar comms officer nodded to him, confirming that the Orc fleet was in-system. He ordered a message to be transmitted.
"This is President Dmitri Saveli of the Earth Alliance and spokesman for the Inferior Ones. There is an Abh spokeswoman here for the contact as well, along with a Dolphin spokesman. It is an honor to meet with your people, the origin of this transmission is the hangar of the diplomatic station Kiktahkhe. If you wish for a face-to-face meeting, then head for the hangar. The doors will automatically open."

Hach Diplomacy
"Ah, we are more than capable of trading food! Our farms provide far more food than we actually need, and what would it say about us if we refused to share? As for what we want in return, a few samples to that metal would be quite nice, but if it is not possible then we want nothing more than the knowledge that we helped."
Message to Orc Fleet
"President Dmitri Saveli will meet you at the location marked on the starmap being transmitted along with this message. He has been alerted of your planned arrival and should be ready for you by the time you reach his position, as long as he doesn't collide with any planetary debris on his way."

Draconian Front 25, 56th EA Patrol Fleet
While on it's way to the Draconian quantum gate to Front 14, the 56th picked up an unknown contact on the newly enhanced Draconian sensors. While small enough to be a simple anomaly, a single ship was broken off from the fleet. After all, the war is over, might as well do some exploring. What that single ship found, of course, was what seemed to be a fleet of ships scavenging. Deducing that they must know what happened, the crew decided to twist the truth a bit and present the EA as a mighty nation. Quite a big lie, as for the entire first three galaxies they just cowered behind the Triarians. To prevent an attack on their craft, a message was sent to the alien fleet along with a translation matrix. Just in case.
"This is Captain Ballzédé of the Earth Alliance starship Kelroil. You are within Earth Alliance space and gathering debris, as such, we assume that you are unaware of the recent war between us and the Draconian Empire, the origin of the debris to be found here. The technology in formerly Draconian space, composed of about a hundred galaxies, is normally delegated by the nations that contributed to the war. However, during first contacts it is overlooked by our nation. Though I do ask you to identify yourselves and inform us if you have had any friendly contact with the Draconians recently."

EA Virtual Reality Historical Records, Battle of Gliese 667 Cc
As he wired into the VR system, a new spectator began to watch the VR recreation of the famous battle, known not for any major strategic gain for any of the sides that participated, but for the historical importance. The battle is considered the event that defined humanity, reshaped it many years later. Seven hundred different sides fought in the battle, every one of them for their beliefs. It was the waning days of the Common Sense War, and the fighting had gone to the extremes. It took place after the dozens of Christian factions finally united, but not by unity. No, they were united by being conquered by the one with the most savage and dangerous soldiers, it's name lost to history. This battle was where they would use their new strategy, against Gliese 667 Cc, the last planet where humans of multiple faiths lived together in peace. Why did they attack it specifically?
There were Jewish inhabitants.

As the spectator watched on, the hundreds of fleets were quickly decimated by the superior Christian forces, with outnumbered the others and outgunned them. As they closed in on the planet, leaving behind thousands of floating hulks in their wake, the cargo bays of the ships began to open. Out of them flew millions of nuclear missiles, which impacted the planet in short order. Due to the design of the weapons, the fireball rages on for hours, supported by a fusion reaction being fueled by vast reserves of fusion material on the fleet. When they finally ran out of fusion material, the fireball dissipated and the survivors of the fleets were met with nothing but dust.
And that's why Gliese 667 Cc isn't on starmaps anymore, along with ten other planets that met the same fate before the great purge was started by Dmitri Saveli and Fergus McClain. Afterwards, the human species took the title they still believe they deserve: The Shamed Ones.
Allimone Meeting
"It'll take a bit to convince my people to lend propulsion technology, when we opened warp drive up for civilian purchase... bad things happened. However, trade is really easy. In fact, I'm actually authorized to accept trade requests. As for declarations of friendship, we have fought side by side in the Sazkarjhit War. It is practically a given! Also, please do not take offense at the Triarian comments. They have presumably had bad experiences with religion, we have as well, but that experience taught us to accept the beliefs of others instead of condemning them. For what it's worth, we find your beliefs intriguing."

Orc Contact
"There is a star cluster that nobody has bothered to colonize, near our space in fact. If you want, I can have the coordinates transmitted to you. For an official meeting, you'll have to travel to the human and Dolphin home system of Sol. The fourth planet from the central star is our current capitol, and it is undergoing terraforming. The original homeworld is no more. Our president will be alerted, and he will be ready for an audience."
Orc Contact
"There are about four nations that we have contacted, the Triarian Collective, Equestrian Empire, Zonanese Empire, and Sazkarjhia. The Triarians are arguably the most advanced, the Equestrians have the highest capacity to use the force commonly known as magic, and the Zonanese and Sazkarjhit are both theocracies. They don't have the best history with eachother. There's plenty of unclaimed space, mainly because everyone is scrambling for the planets of the now-extinct Draconians."

Hach Diplomacy
The EAS McClain dispatches a shuttle, containing Fergus and two soldiers. There were Sazkarjhit ships in system, after all. The shuttle came in for a landing at the station, and the occupants stepped out.
"It is an honor to meet with your people once again, I am Fergus McClain. I understand that you wanted to discuss trade?"
Hach Diplomacy
The EAS McClain exits warp in orbit of Allimone, with the Sazkarjhit negotiations over Fergus has been freed to work on other diplomatic assignments.. The gravity rings alone dwarf most of the other ships, which is almost certainly a surprise to the others, as the EA has so far appeared to be a weak nation. The huge craft slowly glides through space to come into closer distance with the other ships, and transmits a message to the planet below.
"This is Fergus McClain of the Earth Alliance, we have been sent as a response to your message. We too are interested in trade, and are ready to begin negotiations."

Expansion
Being overtaken by the Equestrians and Triarians, the EA has begun production of more colony ships over all of their planets. IT appears that the industrial capacity of the EA is much larger than would be expected, with hundreds of new ships heading towards the new galaxies for expansion. Along with these new ships are nanorobots, being sent to convert barren planets into distortion worlds and simply lay claim to others. As the expansion continues, EA territory is being carved out in such a way to give them control of the intergalactic gates leading closer to what was once the Sanctum. Bringing them closer to the Draconian core galaxies, and thus giving them access to more advanced technology.
Orc Contact
The main hangar of the EAS Vengeance slowly opened, revealing the gigantic space. Small spacecraft moved around inside of it, carrying fighter craft from other hangars to the cargo bay of the flagship for storage. A line of buoys lit up, guiding the Orc craft into the hangar. As it got closer, invisible laser beams locked onto it and pulled it towards the docking port slowly. While the two ports were completely incompatible, the EA one shifted into the perfect shape for the Orc one. A quick scan shows that no major atmospheric adjustment is needed, but the inside atmosphere is changed slightly to the exact same mixture inside the Orc shuttle. The docking port then opens, revealing a blue-haired, pointy-eared woman. When compared to the Orcs, she is laughably small and frail. Her garment clearly shows that she is no warrior, and instead a diplomat.
"It is an honor." She says, bowing slightly. "Welcome aboard the EAS Vengeance, I have the honor of representing the Earth Alliance in this contact. As is standard for contacts of this type, I have been asked to give you a quick overview of our nation. We are composed of three species, the humans, the Abh, and the Dolphins. I am an Abh, a genetic construct created by the humans to be the perfect fighter in space. However, we were allowed to choose our line of work and I chose to be a diplomat. The humans are the founders of the Earth Alliance, and were the dominant species on their homeworld, but they have a doctrine that states that they are inferior to all other species due to a war in the past. The Dolphins were also native to the human homeworld of Earth, but occupied the oceans instead of the land. They have no natural grasping appendages, and rely on robotic avatars to work. The war that we just got out of spanned the entire local group of galaxies, and a few outside that group. All of them were controlled by the Draconian species, which has since been entirely wiped out by allied forces and our own. If you want to know anything, just ask."

Expansion
Somehow cracking the codes of Draconian systems, the EA has been able to colonize hundreds of Draconian worlds with infrastructure intact! A rush has begun to reverse engineer the technology and colonize the rest, with colonists being cloned constantly to satisfy the demand. Starships have been sent out to create dozens of Krasnikov tubes between each galaxy, in addition to the already existing wormgates. The Earth Alliance seems bent on taking over as much of Draconian space as they can.

Howdy! I'd like to join.: Ascendant Collective.: Cybernetic humans. The extent of augmentation varies, with most civilians only having a few implants. Specialists in assorted fields, such as the military and in industry, are difficult to discern from machines. As time goes by, these lightly augmented humans are dwindling rapidly as the population becomes increasingly robotic.: Cybernetic collectivism. While each individual still maintains autonomy, they are at all times made conscious of their present objectives designated by their superiors, carrying them out with a strong sense of purpose.: As a new power in the galaxy with only so much territory in their hands, territory carved out of backwater systems of the Earth Alliance at that, their military is comparatively quite small. While some Earth Alliance weapons systems are still in use, they are in the process of rearming their nation with indigenous designs. The rapid industrialization that went hand in hand with the cyberization of the rest of their society has given them appreciable production capabilities, but it is still not enough to fully ensure safety from any would be enemy of the revolution. While they have a few advantages due to their cybernetics and extensive usage of neural-interfacing, these qualitative advantages are insignificant compared to the overwhelming quantitative advantage any potential adversary would enjoy. Many Ascendant vehicles are guided by cybernetic brains, with the most committed and skilled soldiers being transferred to these “war forms”. Ships and ground vehicles such as tanks, walkers and so forth are essentially just larger scale cyborgs, and fanatically devoted ones at that, willing to abandon any semblance of humanity to safeguard their people and homeworlds. Not all opt for such extreme augmentation however, and there are still more conventional elements of their military force organized much like their pure human counterparts.: In the outer reaches of the Earth Alliance there were those who sought to exploit the chaos during the Draconian War in order to advance their ideologies. Each failure, especially in the case of the destruction of Earth itself, gave more ammunition for the demagogues. The Ascendant Collective is one such movement in this period that happened to succeed. Their movement advanced the idea that in order to survive and evolve, mankind had to abandon their flesh and adopt mechanical forms, embracing technology to make them superhuman. This ideology readily took hold among the handful of systems that make up the Ascendant Collective today, in part due to the race to fight particularly destructive alien diseases which had spread through their corner of the galaxy. As the body count rose, the desperation to find a solution also increased. The Ascendant Movement achieved power almost entirely without bloodshed. Very few resisted augmentation and those that did tended not to last particularly long, the new government not even bothering to oppress them as their deaths to the diseases were certain. When their path towards independence was complete, they severed communications with the rest of Alliance and remained isolated, only recently emerging once more as a greatly changed, rebuilt nation. While they are not hostile to the Earth Alliance and other pure humans outside of their relatively small domain, they regard these outsiders with apprehension and paranoia. They have overcome their plague, but it remains uncertain if they can hold onto their newly carved out nation. Much deliberation presently occurs on the issue of their relatives in the Earth Alliance, with no consensus yet being reached on how to approach them. While they may consider themselves superior to humans and simultaneously fear what the Earth Alliance’s reaction to their transformation will be, they still view them with respect. As their brothers and sisters, any talk of conflict with them is treated with great reluctance. Ideally they wish to convert more to their cause not through conquest, but through demonstrating the virtues of their way of life. Some cynically ponder if this is just because they know they could not hope to compete with the Earth Alliance militarily, however. Cautious thinking is presently favored.Aliens are met with similar suspicion, but are also being considered for the purpose of forming alliances and other treaties beneficial to the Collective. On the flip side of things, they are also perceived as the greater threat.

Accepted! Very nice idea, and bonus points for one of the best explanations for separation from the Earth Alliance!

Duck, I find that having people Rp the past could just end in some guy going THIS HAPPENED NOBODY CAN DENY IT. Perhaps the year before WW3? As for example, the prologue?

Actually, this is essentially a reboot from a different forum. It worked really well there, people really only dropped hints and expanded on them later. I must note that the other forum's RP community has sort of devolved, and the people here are almost certainly more experienced. A much earlier version of this ran for hundreds of pages and never ran into any history-related trouble, despite having only a very small amount of history. And you should believe me when I say that having the players write the history adds unimaginable depth to the roleplay as a whole.

I would love to join this, with the exact same nation I had earlier and the exact same semi-unstable, possibly insane, eccentric president Fergus McClain.
Orc Contact
"Your statement is acknowledged. Searching database."
There is a slight pause as the database of the EA is searched for any former contact with ships of the design just encountered, when none was found, the message continues.
"This has been noted as the first contact between out peoples." Says another voice, this time much more friendly. "It is an honor. I am Hakeshi Tares, the diplomatic officer for this fleet." She begins. "If you wish, we can have a diplomatic meeting on either of our ships. We are always happy to learn about new cultures, and it may be possible to negotiate territorial trade if you want to set up colonies. We use this area only for the intergalactic gate, which will soon see little action as the war has been won."

Sazkarjhit Diplomacy
"Wonderful! Krasnikov Tubes will be laid down soon, I have alerted the crews through my neural link. It is my hope that this alliance allows both our people to prosper."
