Ariana blinked at her. "What do you mean? Do you not have much? I think I brought too much--should've finished unpacking but I'm not to fond of my roommate," she explained with a shrug as she stopped in front of a door. "Think this is it," she added, handing the paper back to Katherin.

"Good," Ariana said with a deliberate nod. If she had to have a supernatural roommate, why couldn't it be someone like this? And I'm stuck with a freaky demon, she thought in annoyance. She sighed and rubbed at her head, her eyes flickering to the doors as they walked. "Think your room is just ahead," she added, looking down at the paper again. "Do you need help unpacking or anything?" she offered.

"Oh. Well that's..kinda cool," Ariana admitted, eyes wide for a moment as she thought about it. "But you don't, like, hurt anyone or anything, do you?" she asked hesitantly. She was raised to fear these things, but Katherin seemed friendly enough--and what harm could a shapeshifter do? Especially when she couldn't even change into another person?

Ariana looked down at the paper and then around at the dorms. "Thanks," she said in response to Katherin's advice. "And, you're on the right track. Your room isn't much farther down--might even be around mine. C'mon." Ariana turned to help the shapeshifter find her room. "So, uh..what can you..change into? People?" she questioned, turning her brown eyes on the girl as she walked.

What are fighting for?

If we prefer a male guard, I can switch to one of her siblings--they're actually a family of demon slayers in the fantasy setting I made them for a few years back, so I thought someone from the family would be perfect.

Appearance: Ariana is tall for a woman and broad in the shoulders. She's well toned and can rival almost any man in size. Her eyes are an alert, puppy-like chocolate brown. Her skin is pale and dotted with freckles, and her long dirty-blonde hair is typically tied back in a loose braid. Although she had typically been doned with iron and steel armor within the castle, she switched to leather armor to allow for faster travel upon leaving the castle. She binds her breasts in order to fit into her armor better, so she appears rather flat chested, as well.

Weapons: A sword, a knife, and a cross bow

Personality: Ariana loves to be around people and loves to chat. However, her duty as a guard often has her in the background, keeping an observant eye on the environment. She finds it frustrating at times, but the trouble she has sitting still is exactly what makes her a good guard: she's always on her toes and alert. At heart, she's a kind and optimistic person who was thrust into a war because of her heritage. She's brave and will always put another human's safety before her own. She's almost excited to be out of the castle, but a bit scared, too. (The princess probably knows her best.)

Bio: The Andrelus family grew to prominence a hundred years ago at the start of the war as the first to organize and train a guild of demon hunters. As such, the family caught the attention of the royal family and has been in league against the demons ever since. Ariana's generation is a large one: her eldest brother--Abraham--of seven is a prominent member of the royal army and each of her brothers contribute to the war effort in some way: her twin (and the only one "younger" than her) is a healer, Alexander is a blacksmith, Ares is a royal army soldier, Adam and Avery mercenaries who specialize in demon slaying. Ariana is no exception and, through her training, was picked as one of the princess' guards at fourteen and has been ever since.

"Oh. Uh, yeah, human," Ariana confirmed, frowning a bit. Another one, she thought soberly. She glanced back over her shoulder and sighed. "Well, um, I'm sorta good with directions. What are you looking for? I mean, I'm new here, obviously, but yeah," she offered sheepishly, dropping her hand to her side. Maybe she'd learn something about shapeshifters hanging around Katherin.
