Even if you were to give us all they we up to D20 that's only 6 options, besides who would want a D20 when they could have 2 D10's, it equals the same amount but now you have more dice since you lose one no matter how high of an amount they are. I personally think you're good where you are.
You said we could go up to D10, so I assumed that we could use all the ones under it, so D4, D6, D8, and D10, which only discludes D12 and D20

As the sound of gunfire was heard the pyromancer quickly tried to put up a wall of flame to defend himself. Luckily, bullets were much faster than a wizard's reaction time. The ground erupted in flames as the pyromancer fell forward but due to the spread of the pellets managed to stay alive. The swordsman looked over and then back at the paladin. "If he's one of yours call him off, if not our deal still stands and we'll continue our battle after we deal with this one."
The pyromancer, with his last but of life, extended his flames to the general area of where Astaroph was standing before falling dead. The two crossbowmen aimed their crossbows, ready to slay the intrusion if he was not called off while the swordsman kept his eye on both so to avoid any sneak attacks.
