This is what the lakebed team needs right now.

'Cide's being ice queen is Sapphire's thing. Gren's going to smash right into your fortress of solitude with his ram of pure passion if that's what it takes for her to open up.

I thought you needed alien robots to infiltrate the Fortress of Solitude?

Who was Arslan again, cause the only thing that comes to mind is the fact that that means lion.
Gren you jackass.
Well it's lunch time right now so the mess hall might be a start.
Bah, I'm such a bad CoGM. I feel I'm too blase' about most everything.

Either way, it's my job to stand by the GM's decision. So, I shall.

I was under the impression that the CoGM's job was to offer an opposing viewpoint and help the GM to make decisions or in the GMs absence to arbitrate disputes.

I don't believe so. There's no reason we need to have an automated response to anyone who leaves and returns, you can make a judgement on a case-by-case basis instead of leaving it up to they left now they want back in. In a player vs player arrangement I think it's fairly obvious that one member would sit out. Just as any team who advances in the tournament in the RWBY canon sits out all but one fighter. The example you relay about teams ten to fifteen strong are ridiculous and honestly it's pointless to even talk about it.

It's fairly simple, I approached the GM of this RP, apologized that I left without a word and we worked out an agreement. My grandmother passed away and I wasn't putting RPG at the top of my priorities.

He then decided that he would let me back onto my team, if every single member of my team was alright with it, if not he would've transferred Bianca and that would've been that. But they were alright with it, forgave me for my absence and it ended. If you disagree with Lug and you think that a five man team threatens the fabric of the RWBY universe and the RP, then you will have to appeal to him.

He's the GM he makes the rules and what have you. But I do want to be clear that as I stated to Lug before, I've already told him that I will be flexible with making it work. If that means I have to sit out of Vytal, so be it. I asked Lug if he could see it working and he said he could. So that's where I'm at with this right now.

This'll probably have to be my last post on this topic, I don't want to add fuel to an unnecessary argument and I appear to be speaking to four or five people who share an opinion which means I'm not going to do anything to sway you.

I'm sorry about your Grandmother, I hope your family is doing alright.

The ten to fifteen strong was an over exaggeration to make a point. The real problem with this is that there is no such thing as an exception. If Bianca is allowed to return to her old team then what grounds would we have to deny Trad the same right. Not to mention the IC reasons for the exception. I realize that in IC Bianca had a family emergency which I think would be grounds to let her return to Beacon once the crisis was past but as far as Ozpin's decision making skills go I don't think there is a valid reason for him to let Bianca return to her old team. The entire training course of the Academy is designed around four man teams. Having a person with five people disrupts that.

And I'm not calling you a liar or anything but we haven't actually heard a final ruling from Lugubrious. We have only your word that he did approve of this. I'm not trying to start anything and you don't need to defend your integrity but that conversation also took place before a plethora of objections from the rest of the cast which may alter the ruling somewhat. My point is that until Lug actually says something in the OOC Bianca returning to VGNB is not set in stone.
And the race is on...

@Nafasi Before you start posting you need to choose a faction to join and update your CS in the character tab. Sorry we couldn't wait for you.
Gloria Lieth - Solitary Confinement

Gloria lay on the floor staring up at the ceiling. She rather hated this room. It was padded on every surface and everything was white. There were no windows. The color was kind of mind numbing. Though in all fairness the padded walls made really steady punching bags when she was angry. As much as Gloria might have hated the solitary confinement cells they were also the only place that she actually felt safe. She was completely cut off front the rest of the prison, she wasn't expected to do anything and while the food dropped in quality from what they got everywhere else Gloria made do.

As she thought the girl with the golden hair subconsciously ran her fingers over small white scars that decorated her knuckles. It was the reason she was in solitary in the first place. Every once in awhile when she was really angry Gloria would punch a wall... or a person but usually it was a wall. She did it because she was fed up with being trapped. Her ability gave her almost absolute freedom. Freedom to go where she wanted, to take what she wanted and to not have to listen to anyone. Being in this prison it was the ultimate hell for someone who was used to being able to walk through walls. Sometimes she'd wind up and hit the concrete in the vain hope that her fist might just go through it. It never happened and while her hand hurt and often enough bled she usually felt just a little bit better.

After the first couple of incidents she'd been taken to the infirmary, patched up and sent back into the yard. After the fifth or sixth they'd started cutting her food rations and lately the punishment had been solitary. They couldn't sell damaged merchandise so they couldn't have someone injuring themselves. They had some kind of healing meta in the infirmary but he always left the scars on her hands intact, a kind of reminder Gloria guessed.

After what could have been eternity or a few seconds or was likely about two days the door to the cell was opened. "Up and at 'em ghost girl. You're going back to the population. Lunch is just about ready." The guard escorted her to the lunch room where various lower members of SOUL were serving. It wasn't exactly appetizing but after several days in eating solitary food it might as well have been a turkey dinner. There was a table in the back that was more or less designated to the factionless. At any one time there were usually about ten of them but Edmund, Gloria herself and the one they called The Messenger were the only ones that lasted. The others usually died off in a weak or two. But there were always new ones to take there place. Screw ups of the various factions that got turned out, or idealists new to the prison that didn't understand that being factionless was a serious struggle. Gloria had only survived because she'd had the mentorship of another factionless girl that had gone through the same trials, Hippolyta. But she'd sold out. Now she was the leader of the Faction the Amazons and while Gloria could say they weren't as bad as factions like SOUL or STEM or the MIR they still weren't good.

Gloria noticed that Edmund wasn't at the table today. He was much older than her, likely one of the oldest people in the prison and she knew he suffered from migraines. He was most likely in the infirmary right now. The healing meta could help but apparently the brain was trickier to heal than other parts of the body. Gloria sighed and dipped a spoon into her gruel. It didn't taste half bad this morning.
Eh Talk to Lugu about it, wasn't my call. I will say this though, in a roleplay, something without stats or crunching numbers really. There isn't much of a difficulty. There is a conversation, relationship between the players and whoever is playing the antagonist. Saying it's easier to cooperate with five people is similar as me saying it's unfair for one semblance to be stronger than another and all that. There's hardly a game to break. Either way, I'm no GM so talk to him about it.

I've actually brought up the issue of different powered semblances but that's a conversation for another day.

I think letting Bianca join rejoin her team after she has already been replaced is a bad idea. This indicates that if someone drops off from a team they are welcome to return to that team no matter who has filled there spot. This is a sign that if you drop off from Heroes of Beacon you are always welcome to return (which as we've seen is not true, we've had people wanting to return but be disallowed). It also means that the teams have no limit.

Team CODE has lost both Aurellius and Marcus. If there RPers return are we expected to make a six man team? Robert's original team lost everyone except him. If all of them wanted back in would we create a seven man team? And as this goes on more people from various teams will drop out, it's a fact of RPing. If all of them return could we not end up with teams that are ten or fifteen strong? When do we draw the line between being able to rejoin your own team and having to join a new one? Those team number limitations are there for a reason, in Team Vs Team combat a five man team would have an advantage so would that mean that every time a 5 man team goes into something like the Vytal festival they have to chose someone not to participate at all?

This is obviously Lug's decision but I think if we start bending the basic rules that RWBY has in its cannon things are going to start falling apart. Not saying Bianca shouldn't return but I think a prolonged absence like that means that they cannot return to there old team.
Sapphire Rode - Airdocks

Sapphire had expected the topic to come up at one point or another. It was sort of part of living in close proximity to other people. 'Oh where's your family from? Where'd you grow up? Do you have any siblings? How are your parents?' It wasn't exactly new to Sapphire. Though she did not recall telling Gren about the Music Box. Of course Gren seemed to be rather adept at gathering information. Perhaps he'd asking Diamond, Emerald or Oswald. In any case these were not the types of questions that she particularly wanted to be answering.

"Do I look like a townie?" Sapphire asked rolling her eyes. Usually the best way to get someone to back off of pleasantry questions was to go on the offensive. No one liked to feel like they were being judged. "My family moved around a lot." She said tossing the answer off like it meant nothing. This was not exactly the truth. In actuality the Rode's had three houses that they had used regularly in Sapphire's childhood (they also had one or two vacation homes but that was besides the point). One of them was on the outskirts of Vale, separated from the community by a long road, a tall wall and imposing gates.

That was were Sapphire had spent most of her life though they also had a place in Atlas and Mistral. It wasn't often that hunters from other Kingdoms were called in to deal with a problem but when it happened Sapphire's mother and father usually ended up in the area for weeks or even months at a time. Sapphire's mother and father had bought houses in the other two kingdoms the ensure that they could keep there family close to them. They didn't have a house in Vacuo because on the rare occasion that they were called out to that remote location they didn't want to subject there children to that kind of harsh environment. It was also the reason that her brother Oliver had run to Vacuo. Janus didn't have as many connections there.

"What about you Gren?" Sapphire asked with an air that suggested that she was only mildly interested in the answer. "What are your parents like?" That was another way to deflect. It usually ended in one of two ways, if the person had a happy homelife they would be glad to talk about where they came from and forget about any questions related to her past and if they didn't then they dropped there own questions feeling that if they got answers they would be obligated to speak on there childhood.

Into the Lake

What Shiro, Oswald, Napoli, and Robert didn't realize was that the lake was much less calm than it appeared. On the surface of course it was smooth as glass but the lake at the foot of the Beacon cliffs was actually quite turbulent. On the surface it was calm but there further down you went the rougher the waters became. Tossing you this way and that, the currents were merciless.

Not only that but there was something else in the lake with them. Something dangerous. Something that wanted them gone from it's home as quickly as possible. It didn't care if they made it back in one piece. Right now however that threat was not apparent. What Shiro saw at the bottom of the late was something sparkly, metal catching the light. What he couldn't tell from this distance was that there was far too much of it to simply be Sapphire's daggers.

Once he got closer he would realize that he was looking at a pile of junk, all of it made of metal. Jewelry, engine parts, lost weapons, even some pots and pans. All of the metal that had fallen from the Beacon cliffs resided on the bottom of the late in that particular spot. For the right person it was a pile of treasure. To most everyone else it was more likely just junk. The majority of it was rusting over, except for some of the higher quality jewelry and the weapons which were made of a material designed not to rust in water.

What Shiro couldn't see from this distance was that that pile rested at the mouth of a cave which was almost pitch black inside. Not only that but something rested inside the cave. Something that liked its pile of metal undisturbed. Something that wasn't going to take kindly to a thief.
Hey, I'm trying, okay? It just seems like Shiro is always off running about, getting emotionally manipulated by everyone but Gren. Maybe I ought to arrange an accident to break his legs and have Gren nurse him back to health, so Shiro would grow to be more dependent on him.

Who here is willing to break Shiro's legs for me? I'm thinking Oswald. Maybe he'll do it to earn brownie points with Sapphire. What about you Gratia? Feel like catching a tiger by it's toe?

Cause violence is a great segway to romance. Why not just have Sapphire break them >:)
