It's exam season, boys and girls, so postage should be up over the weekend. If you don't hear from me by Monday, honour my memory.

Well then. I'm exceedingly British, rather sarcastic and I love a good shipfest in my RPs. Also male. Funny, that. Fair warning, I will treat you like an adult. That means I will mock you, point out your mistakes and most likely /cringe when you do something really autistic. Being an adult means accepting criticism and working to improve yourself, not ignoring it. And if I need calling out on my bullshit, just do it. Please. Nothing is worse than not realising that you've said or done something stupid til a week after the fact.

I currently live in Japan, so my posting hours are... weird. Please bear with me.

I chose primarily Austro-Hungarian and outdated British weapons for no reason other than style. Personally I don't mind what kind of weapons your armies use, so long as they fit the bill of being a slightly older rifle. They could be knockoffs or bought in dribs and drabs through the black market, doesn't really matter. If you want to be 100% accurate, then sure go for it. But no-one will be forced to use a certain weapon purely because of historic accuracy.
... Alright, common sense here too. No assault rifles in 1910.

Sven, I'll make a decision when its 100% complete, but it looks good so far. Very populist.
Alright then Bright, Naruto is accepted. Chuck him in the CS tab and we'll go from there. Once we have six states accepted, I'll open the IC.
Consider me intrigued.

You guys don't need to wait for a posting order y'know. I'll try to post tonight.
I am interested in this! I want to bring the monarchy back to China! Even if it destroys me!

I have one question: Since there are European colonies nearby China and Asia, are they going to be apart of this roleplay and the storylines of China?

As Clock said, the leased colonies will slowly bleed Western influence into China. This isn't limited to just the areas around Hong Kong and Macoa (i.e. Guangdong), but the further you get from the coast the lesser the impact. Also, the German colonies don't exist in this timeline because I completely forgot about them.

I will start working on my character sheet tomorrow, it's quite late here actually at the moment. (I live in Europe.) So it should be up once you are sleeping or when the lot of you are waking up. (That is assuming most of you folks are American.) I'm not to good with the whole map/paint usage thing so I would appreciate it if the host could colour the area of Ningxia for me. If my claim is accepted that is.

Side note: Lennon, i've noticed that the area you currently have, including the small strip of land connected to main land China, has a population of 15.9 million people today. Yet you only have a population of 2.5 million in your character sheet. I don't know much about population growth but to me it seems as though you should be able to increase your population to 4.5 million even, or 5 million maybe. Just a suggestion of course, was just making an observation.

I'm as British as they come, so a lot of the OOC activity seems to be when I'm asleep... But yes. Most of the census data I've found says that Hainan Island alone had a population of around 3 mil, but I decided to lower it in order to artificially weaken the Peninsula; the idea I'm going for is a small state with a relatively weak army and small but strong navy. Jiang won't be a major player in many land wars. That said, I might boost it to 5mil if everyone else's states continue to be so massive...

@Bright_Ops Is your CS finished? As for the Qing, the only three remaining named character is the rightful Emperor Pu Yi, who was smuggled out of the country by a small band of his most loyal retainers, about twelve senior ministers and military commanders. He is still a child though and is being raised by the Japanese court, with all the implications that entails. There are also a handful of minor cousins and such that can be used if something untoward were to happen to young Pu Yi.

Also Stein (and Clock actually), I'd have preferred you post your CSs to the OOC first as per what I said in the initial post, but what's done is done. Anyways, the Ma Clique is accepted.

Also, haha congreves... When I go on events the KGA always have their damn congreves firing over our heads. You die halfway up the field only to have a rain of sticks falling on you for the rest of the battle...

Also also, can everyone make sure that their warlord's names are in the correct Chinese order, i.e. family name first. Makes things less confusing.
Six to eight is my preferred number, though I expect it'll be four to six at most.
Census's are hard to come by, but most of what I've found pegs Guangdong with a population of around 3mil in 1900. Any more than 10% of your total population in the army and you start to get major economic issues.
But if we do this 100% realistically, then none of us are gonna have any fun, so let's say... Guangdong has a population of 9mil.
Looking good, though 1.5 million is a big army. Even the Beiyang Army, one of the largest and most modern formations in China at the time was only about six divisions.
I think I'll take some of the layout and details you've put into yours and use it to pad out my CS a bit.
You are not sempai, you are unworthy of being a sempai.

Ouch. Good one XD
In the interest of initial balance, no. Those areas not claimed will be populated by minor unnamed warlords, some of whom may be friendly, others not so much. They will eventually be used as fodder for PVE conquest.
