When Arus reached the civilian caravan, he'd see the dozens of elderly, women, and children standing around talking amongst each other as a token force of soldiers flanked the makeshift camp on all sides. He was greeted by an oddly dressed man with a green cloak and an obnoxiously large orange horn fashioned to his forehead.

"Well met," the man spoke, motioning to those seemingly under his command as soldiers began corralling and organizing the people to move once more. It didn't take long for everyone to fall in line and for the group to begin it's trek through the woods, following the myrmidon with little to no deviation to his guidance. Yet, as they began to progress further, the oddly dressed man would ride up beside Arus- the verdant shade of his cloak contrasting the yellow feathers of his feathered mount as it squawked contentedly at being draw to a slow trot, "So, how bad is it? Even from here, the scent of blood is heavy in the air." Not a moment after asking his question, he'd turn his gaze back to the civilians trailing just a mere yards behind them, "A lot of these people won't survive out here. I hope Holliander knows what he's doing, but I can't help but think Vernire was right. This trek may very well be a folly. But with the numbers we lost the other day," the man paused for a while before turning his gaze back to the forest before him, "I just hope Vernire doesn't blame himself for this if it goes south. He's a troubled man, but a good one at heart."

With the small exchange done, the group now traveled in silence through the woods. Luckily enough, no more risen seemed to be roaming the area as they quickly came upon the sight of the survivors from the fray before, desperately setting up makeshift tents and other fixtures in an attempt to ready themselves for the coming nights. As the summoner's gaze fell upon the sight, he fell silent a moment before asking in a distant tone, "Where are the rest?"

As the trio spoke to the brothers, they'd notice that the tension between them was slowly dying... Or at least digressing into mere glares versus the exchange of lows. Erion would notice that neither of the brothers had any adverse reaction to his healing, merely casting a glance in his direction- Vernire with a glare and Holliander with a smile. As Joanne brought attention to the stone, Holliander would nod at Robert as he spoke out, waiting till the mage finished his speech before adding his own, "The church has wanted nothing but peace for the land, thus is why we hid the nature of the stones. If everyone knew the artifacts responsible for the artocities all those years ago was still in our possession... It would led to utter chaos-"

"More like you bastards were saving it as a fail-safe in case your iron-grip on the world waned!" Vernire snarled loudly, "Don't pretend the atrocities of the church were warranted in any manner. While we struggled to make a living on scraps, you 'holy-pigs' slept in mansions and grew fat on pork and wine."

At this, Holliander seemed to take great offense, though offering not another word, "Perhaps this was just a misunderstanding... We can settle this back at camp." With that, he'd attempt to move past Erion towards the direction of the road. Vernire instinctively drew up his sword, bearing his teeth like an animal.

"I'll be damned if I let a traitor back into our midsts... The only way you're going back is in chains!"

At this, the emtions seemed to boil over once more, the brothers staring each other down as the trio stood around them.

As the trio started making their way into the woods, Arus turned back towards his recovering allies and put himself among their ranks. At once, the troops began rushing to the sides of the wounded, doing their best to provide triage care for those that could make it, and comfort for those who could not. As Robin surveyed the scene, he could help but clench his teeth in disgust, "Why? When did the Risen become so coordinated?" Shaking his head with a sigh as his anger turned to sorrow, he'd move his horse up beside Arus, "Go back down the path and call the others up... Tell them to avoid the roads and lead them just south of here, and we'll meet them there. I don't want them seeing this bloodshed, and I don't want them to present another opportunity to strike us without warning."

With that, the well robed man would turned his mount towards the bulk of the regrouping forces, leaving Arus with his thoughts and his officers orders. It was then that the realization dawned upon him, with Vernire still missing- there wasn't many left to report to. Hopefully he'd find the lead of the other caravan and be able to lead them here successfully.

As Erion shouted, both of the men stood at attention as their gaze shot to the moogle. Though their bodies still seemed ready to fight at a moments notice, they gave pause enough to address the creature.

"Begone from here, Moogle! I will see this traitor slain," The larger of the two snarled, drawing up his heavy blade as his ebon armor clattered slightly. It was obvious he was prepared to rush if the moogle moved... Or maybe even if he didn't? This man was nothing more than a spire of rage, almost impossible to read.

"Pay no attention to my rabid brother. He's always been a poor lier, and even now he would feign his innocence. I caught him out here giving orders to the Risen, and he turned on me when I confronted him. Seems my brother intentionally led us out here to have us fall prey to these monsters." Holliander stood, his blade at his side as he seemed to relax at the moogle's presence. He gaze a comforting and confident smile, seeming to give Erion more attention then his brother at this point.

"Says the man with the Zodiac stone." At this remark from Vernire, Holliander turned his attention back to his brother, glaring angrily as his grip visibly tightened on the blade in his hand.

"We all know I am part of the church, Vernire. How would I have gotten my title without it? But I was lucky enough to sneak this stone away, hoping that it would lead us to salvation. I was trying to keep the stone a secret, as to not alarm the others at the outpost."

"Is that why you were waving that stone around the fleeing Risen? I've heard of hiding something in plain sight, but trying to signal the undead with it?" It was obvious by Vernire's tone that he was taunting Holliander.

As the two brothers began to taunt and accuse each other, Jo-Anne and Robert would stumble upon the odd trio in the woods, seeing Erion positioned between Holliander and Vernire... But what was with this talk of cooperating with the Risen, and the Zodiac Stones?
I'll work on being a little bit more forthcoming. I apologize.
Everyone's reported, sirs. Is another GM post in the works?

Yes mam. I've read up on everything, just trying to find the time to sit down and write it out. If Lugia wants, he can post the next update and I can message him the summary of what's going on. If not, I should have a post up of not Monday night, Tuesday morning.

Warakuma Public Library

As Masa approached the library, he couldn't help but give a subtle sigh. Having spent the rest of the week volunteering and assisting at other locales within the city, it seemed that it was the library's turn for his attention. On his way home the day before, he met with the manager of the building who asked for his help with maintaining the place. Despite his frustration and fatigue, Masa begrudgingly accepted before heading home. Standing before the doors, the boy would give pause before letting himself in and eyeing about the innerworkings of the building. Ironically enough, the library didn't seem quite that rushed. In fact, it was rather mild crowd- despite the sudden shriek that greeted him. Turning his attention towards its origin, Masa would notice several other students from his school that were still studying for the upcoming exams.

Sighing slightly as he ran a hand through his hair, Masa would begin to move to the front desk, “Figures,” he’d whisper to himself, quickly digressing into his thoughts, ‘Maybe they won’t notice. I said I’d help out around here, so I guess I’ve got no choice... It’s not like I have anything better planned.” With one last sigh, he’d report in to the librarian and take a cart filled with returned and left over books. At once, he’d make his way to the furthest space from the other students, placing the books in their correct position on the shelves without so much as a word. Yet, he caught himself continually glancing over to the studying students; shaking his head free of the silly thought of communing with them before going back to his task.

As the fight with the heavily armored knight draws to a close, the warriors take a second to catch their breath before heading towards the sounds of the melee down the road... Well everyone but Erion. Being tasked with searching for Holliander, he'd take his own chocobo and tug on it's reins- turning the creature's heading towards the tree line before riding onward. As the moogle attempted to ignore the echoing sounds of the combat from further down the road, he'd oddly hear the sounds of another melee further into the woods. Quickly, he'd pick up his tempo- rushing forward with renewed haste. As he came near, he couldn't help but notice a pair of humanish figures squaring off with one another- swords at the ready.

When the moogle came within shouting distance, a sudden burst of light would erupt from the blade of the slightly smaller man, a blade seeming to form out of said light as it flew into the sky and rushed towards the other man. Oddly enough, the taller and broader of the two, plunged his blade into the ground as the sword of light drew near. Suddenly, the ground would begin to shake around the moogle and his mount (none of the others down the road would feel this) followed by an ebon blade erupting from the ground as it shattered the sword of light midair. Though slightly overwhelmed by the power and spectacle of it all, something else surprised the moogle more so.

The two men that were fighting? Were the brother Commanders: Holliander and Vernire.

Jo-Anne and Robert quickly made their way up the road, meeting up with the forward guard in a matter of moments. However, nothing could've prepared them for the sights and sounds of the brutal combat: the mounting number of bodies upon the ground a harrowing sight as the survivors fought back the Risen about them. As the duo met up with Arus, the three would begin striking out against the horde-

- felling many of the horde before the undead strike back. All at once, the combat drew to a pause. For some reason, the Risen held their fire, those locked into the brunt of the melee suddenly holding their weapons aloft as they mindlessly stared at their adversaries before them. With a terrible screech from their back lines, the lines of the Undead began to retreat back into the woods. Almost everyone seemed to be taken aback by this, Robin obviously gaping at the situation. As the volunteers began to chase their prey, Robin called out, "Hold! We cut our loses here! Tend to the fallen and injured, we need to regroup with the others."

Despite their motivations, most complied to Robin's orders without question. However, one soldier near the treeline spoke up, "What of Vernire?! He ran off into the woods!"

"He made his decision. We'll make our way to a more defensible position and search for him as we make camp."

With that, the last of the Risen seemed to fade into the darkness of the woods... However, a small flash of light from deeper within seemed to catch the trio's attention. What could it be?
@Takaru

Yeah, but my problem comes from Masa is me stepping out of my comfort my comfort zone when creating characters. I like the idea- in fact I love it, but I just can't seem to plot out the reactions of a: self-destructive, anti-social, chartiable loner. Even when I just start typing things out, they seem to contradict themselves and so I scrap it and attempt a rework to no avail.

Thanks for the suggestion though. If I can ever get something acceptable (in my mind) I'll probably have him attend the magnet point, but at the moment it's on me. Also being frazzled doesn't help, but we won't go into that >_<.
Full time worker, father of two, and one of which has a severe disability. Yep, not much teeth left.
Here, just trying g to figure out how to reintroduce masa... sorry for the delay.
Sorry for the delayed update. A combination of trying to figure out where the plot is going and getting at the figures right for the combat. I'll talk with Lugia about giving XP at the end of combat and other events, and also about the distribution of Bond levels. At this point though, if there is anything that needs correcting or clarification, please let me know.

Edit: Forgot to update the NPC combat... Sad to say, these rolls were a little high, so both the Risen and the Survivors suffer Heavy losses. You can feel free to interact with this on your posts or just wait till the end of combat.
