Those kinds of races are definitely the outcast types, but that doesn't automatically make them antagonists. Take Vampire the Masquerade for example, or the Underworld movies.

Lifetaker is just overkill, Sol is more than enough to keep a unit alive.
Just so you know, you will receive a heavy PExp penalty for surrendering, just as Freeshooter did. If you stick it out, you'll earn a much more fair amount of experience even if you are defeated. This also applies to how much gold you'll earn.
