Salem, Massachusetts - 1692.

The year in which it all began. The witch hunters came to town to rid of the growing witch community with dedication and fearlessness. Amidst the dark rituals and petrifying spells, the witch hunters stopped at nothing and fought mercilessly to give proper consequences to the unwanted, demonic force. A body of individuals practicing devilish, black magic casted friends and family against each other, tainting the air and setting the atmosphere of Salem, Massachusetts. What was thought to be an end of this supernatural advancement in history, was only the beginning of a better understanding of a realm of beings that have only been rumored to be true. As time went on, the witch trials that began soon became scarce and it was announced finished just to bring peace to the people of Salem, but any smart person would feel the cold, dark air that permanently contaminated such a beautiful place.

The existence of supernatural beings were kept secret, but Salem, Massachusetts housed them all. It would be unrealistic to believe that each rabid werewolf or demonic witch kept their wicked race a secret; stories would often reach out to the people when sudden deaths and cold-blooded events would stir up — but there was always a cover-up, an alibi, a false story. It wasn’t just the supernaturals that worked to keep themselves secret, but the community itself was to be protected from the knowledge of their existence to save for an empty, deserted town to only be filled with a potential, growing force. Witch hunters became scarce since the powers of the supernatural realm only grew with time, evolving fast to fully reach their true potential. It took a skilled individual to really take down a creature of the night. In these days, it is said that it takes one to kill one.

For several decades, they worked hard to keep their kin in check, excusing the occasional instances in which a werewolf would run rabid, a vampire would feast, or a witch would use an innocent for a sacrifice. It was a peculiar lifestyle, working to be a secret and not letting one’s supernatural abilities get the best of them. Although, there were feuds between the community. Perhaps it was for sport to save them from boredom, especially with a strong desire to properly exercise the skills of such powerful bloodlines. The voodoo witches rivaled the witch covens, the werewolf packs rivaled the vampire covens, and the witch hunters were now out to extinguish them all.

Today, casting aside all rivalries, all revered individuals in the community, all supernatural battles, and all differences between each vile race, a coming shift was felt among each person within the community. The supernaturals were becoming too comfortable, too prideful, and it was nearing a time in which a proper, threatening force were to come to eliminate them all. The mystery remains unsolved and perhaps it was the paranoia-induced fears among foretellers and those containing precognitions of a coming armageddon that ceased all civil wars and petty battles. A silence has stirred up and many lose sleep during the night(or day).

Bad omens and warning signs are experienced by everyone within the community. Whether it be strange symbolic writings produced in the strangest of places, or the death of a supernatural by unknown causes, or rabid supernaturals that roam endlessly trying to kill. Mind control, unknown writings, peculiar symbols, repetitive visions of the beginning of an end — all of these factors introduced a fear for a cataclysmic era within the supernatural realm. But what is the solution? Should this be a matter to be feared? Is this simply a scare? The signs are apparent and the fear to be had was appropriate, even for the strongest supreme witch, pack leader, or coven leader within the community.

Where does the average hunter stand in such a situation in which they are being aided, yet still threatened? To kill just one supernatural calls for a destructive battle, so to kill them all in an act of genocide would cause terror a great length outside of the community. Should the safety of the people be one to question? Is this force supporting the cause of eliminating supernaturals or is it a mere war of sport and games from a powerful figure exercising his abilities?

It is now that a rising force is being welcomed, instituting a diversity of races, packs, and covens, to build some sort of agreement to educate and protect one another from what is to come. Consisting of several strong assets, this force seeks to build a safe haven and to also establish a long awaited, and necessary, band of individuals to ensure peace within the community. Whatever you may call it, only those with open minds choose to participate, many of which cannot cast aside their differences, choosing to ignore the concept, or even retaliate this treaty. The choice is yours. Will you band together as a community and defend against the intimidating force to come, or will you keep to your foul pack or iniquitous coven? Will you protect your loved ones, or stick to yourself? The fate of your life is in your hands, as it always has been, in Salem, Massachusetts.

► Nobody is Useless, in Salem, Massachusetts

Whether you’re used to fulfill a ravenous vampire’s thirst, a starved werewolf’s hunger, or an immoral witch’s ritual, your purpose in the hell known as Salem, Massachusetts will always be of great use.

► OOC

This concept is spawned from a role-play that had trouble getting started by @HushedWhispers! I’d like to thank her for the ideas, some of the content, and for giving me a creative idea to get going! As well as this template for an OOC/Recruitment thread! In addition to this, she will be joining as our official Co-GM!

So, this is your classic supernatural RP taking place in, none other than, Salem, Massachusetts! I tried my best to make this as different as possible, trying to stray away from such mainstream, supernatural concepts! To summarize the plot — it is essentially a mystery to the players. A coming oblivion is foreseen by many and the rumors are spreading very fast that supernaturals are to watch their backs from a realm-ending terror. I don’t want to reveal what it is that will be threatening the realm(partially because I haven’t really come up with something super clever YET), but that just adds the fun to the mystery! ALSO, I’m new to GMing, so it’d be cool if ya’ll would be patient with me. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

► Playable Roles:

I can add more roles for each category, as well.

► Character Sheet:

The only thing that’s really optional within the sheet is the theme song section. If you’re not going to do the theme songs, please delete that area from the sheet. Where you see [.hr], please remove the . for the coding to work.
I'm so happy this is getting some recognition! :) I'm going to work on an OOC when I get the chance! Thanks for the interest everybody!

I think I was involved in the first go, so I'd be glad to try again. Though I'd like to know for your version, can a witch know both normal and voodoo spells?

For this version, a witch is most capable of magic based on what branch is inherited. For example, a witch born of voodoo ancestry will be more capable of learning voodoo magic, whereas a witch born into a family with a history of necromancy would have an easier time learning necromancy. A witch often drifts into the branch of magic that his/her ancestors passed down from generation to generation. This does not limit a witch to learning other branches of magic, but straying away from the inherited branch of magic will be more difficult, and would require extensive practice and learning. For example, if you're a witch born of a necromancy family, but partakes in a voodoo coven, you'll have access to spellbooks, mentors, etc. to properly learn voodoo magic, though it will come more difficult than those born voodoo witches.

Got my relationship chart done and I do look forward to adding more to it as we progress through the RP! I also got my introductory post up as well!

Location; Alice's Chambers - Kingdom of Abhainn
Interacting With; Myself

Alice, expressionless as she is, couldn't hide the despair that undesirably overtook her mind and body. Whilst sitting in front of a beautifully crafted vanity within the chambers of a sunlit room that still housed the crisp, morning chill, Alice paid no mind to whatever appearance that her handmaiden was giving her for the day. Her mind remained focused on a single fear that the future potentially held, one in which could ruin her prospective happiness that she so strongly hoped for. Alice's childhood companion, her King, the only love she could imagine herself considering, ripped away because of an unwanted pact of peace between rivaling kingdoms.

Alice's gaze, fixated on the mannequin that fashioned her worn, but still graceful, battle armor, broke when her handmaiden finally spoke,"I'm finished."

Alice turned to the mirror, a little displeased with the over-elegant look that she would be sporting for the day, but perhaps it would be a look that would somehow convince King Maddox to think otherwise of the marriage. Regardless, Alice expressed her gratitude,"Thank you, Jetta. You really should consider styling a more worthy noblewoman, for I don't deserve such a talented handmaiden."

Jetta chuckled,"My Lady, you are too kind." She fixed up her hair and added the finishing touches with beautiful jewelry to compliment her long, fitted gown that gleamed of metallic tones. Jetta continued,"You best get going, to not be late for the arrival of the Sliabhian royal family."

It was clear that Jetta was careful with her words, refusing to mention anything of the coming Queen-to-be. Alice respected that, but also respected Jetta in general, for she was always honored to be the handmaiden to Alice. Jetta, tall and slender with long brunette hair, always had a beauty that Alice envied, with a humble and kind personality respectfully paired with her alluring appearance. For years, Jetta was always the one to bring fashion and style into Alice's everyday life, whether it be furnishing her room, sewing her gowns, or dressing her up for a ball. It was clear that Jetta had great talent and had an eye for beauty, for she was the one to design the appearance of her armor as well. Judging from that, Jetta knows a great deal about Alice's life, but she primarily works as Alice's stylist rather than any ordinary handmaiden that fetches her food and wine, or any other demand that a noblewoman would stress.

Alice stood and proceeded to her father's chambers of the Allaire court to show her respects before leaving to join the other nobles. It seemed as though Alice would only ever crack a smile when she was near her father, but even those smiles required a bit of forcefulness since her bed-ridden father spawned a great deal of sadness for Alice. Not taking anymore time to save from being late, Alice proceeded out the door and proceeded to join the rest of the nobles.

Being new to the noble scene, Alice had very few acquaintances, thus saving her from having to greet any absurd amount of prissy nobles that she came across -- though she did receive many looks as she always does when she makes an appearance. Alice found her way to a spot where she'd get a clear view of the scene, but it was enough for her if she could merely watch King Maddox and nobody else.

As soon as she laid eyes on him, her heart skipped a beat and the loud muttering of the nobles were deafened. A weight pushed down on her shoulders as a faint expression of sorrow was released, watching the charming King await his upcoming bride. The butterflies that filled her stomach was familiar, but the sadness that now came with them was as foreign as the Sliabhians stepping foot on their territory. It would be second-nature for Alice to scan the scene and soak in the faces of every individual involved within the event, but her fixated stare remained on King Maddox, for this could be one of the last times she would see him without a woman locking arms with his.

The silence broke her stare as she finally eyed the welcoming Sliabhian royal family. It was easy to depict the nobles from the royalty, and the military officers from the soldiers. She took as little time as necessary to survey the situation as the Queen-in-waiting stepped out of her carriage, a moment to be remembered by every noble, soldier, and royal member to witness.

How cliche it would be for this new-found adversary of Alice's to be ugly, undeserving, spoiled, and bitchy -- but it wasn't the case, even with the rumors that spread fast within the noble courts. She even tried her best to picture this moment and how it would feel, but the magnitude of the real event didn't compare to what was fabricated in her mind. A few gasps and intense muttering escaped from the crowd, but the silence was still apparent as the beautiful Queen-to-be glowed in the daylight.

Julianna Hardin, member of the Sliabhian royal family, the future Queen of Abhainn, and the woman that played the most important role in tying the kingdoms together to bring peace between the lands. Her beauty was astonishing, almost overwhelming for Alice. A gorgeous, blonde woman to rival the look of Alice's, with an incredible body that was perfectly complimented by the gown she fashioned. Her clear complexion, fair skin, and grace in her steps seemed to only add to the competition that was already becoming established in Alice's mind. Alice paid no mind to any other noble in the situation, her focus being maintained on this new competitor that entered the courts.

This jealousy was like nothing Alice has ever experienced before. Her mind, running to her war-like, barbaric ways, described the feeling as if her heart was ripped out and trampled on by heavy, iron greaves, only worn by a woman that completely outmatched her in terms of beauty and elegance. Clenching her jaw, Alice eyed the event and took in every bit of the situation, paying no mind to the rest of her surroundings, which was unordinary for Alice to do, but the time has come for her to work on a different form of strategy. A form that deals with nobles, royalty, and love, influenced by jealousy and hatred.
Shall I create a relationship chart for us to keep up with? :)

That'd be pretty cool! I've actually never seen a relationship chart for an RP o: So it'd be interesting to see one!
@Lionhearted

I mean, as much as I want to have some sort of base relationship with Lady Alice, as she's a pretty cool person, it wouldn't really make much sense.

But I'm willing to bet that Jaxton would admire how brave she is and how well she handles the sword.

Aw thank you~! I'm actually really liking this character that I've created and I'm so glad that everyone else is taking a liking to her as well!

At the very least, maybe Jaxton has heard the stories about the Abhainn Battle-Maiden? She was definitely a topic of interest between the nobility and the high ranking militants of both armies. Though, with her noble get-up, nobody will recognize her. Unless the two end up sparring, he could build assumptions that it IS her! Or if she was seen on the battlefield by someone in her equipment and then said equipment was found in her chambers. Or if she ends up wearing it again... :hm Only a select few people knew the identity of her, but it was kept quiet for the sake of saving the reputation for Alice as a noble woman and the reputation of the military for allowing the participation of a woman within the ranks.
I will be waiting impatiently for Monday!
<Snipped quote by Lionhearted>

I cannot for this rivalry to be portrayed, honestly. :)

Me too! I might add to my CS Alice's thoughts of Julianna, but I think I can just save it for my intro post too.

Also, just looking at everyone's names listed in the opening OOC post makes me feel like I'm apart of something so epic. Hahaha
I'm so excited for this to begin!

@HushedWhispers & everyone I guess

So I edited my CS and added all the relationships that I have between people so far if you want to take a look!

Also, if anybody else wishes to build any past relationship with Lady Alice, then let me know~! I only PMed those that I thought would make the most sense!
