PersonalityCalm and patient is what most people have in mind when laying eyes on Usagi. She's usually silent as a butterfly, yet if needed she can howl like a wolf. She also happens to be very patient, never having to yell at someone, except on rare, yet desperate situations. And when she does, it's indeed powerful. Usagi is also wise and while supposed to be a servant purely on death, she usually loves the sight of life, unlike other shinigamies, and would spare someone rather then taking their lives, even those who've caused very hateful crimes. She believes people like them should get a second chance at life. Yet if forced to kill, Usagi does it quick and painless, so that the victim will never have to shout, yelp, or even peep in pain.
BackgroundUsagi Shikinami was originally born as an okami shoujo (wolf girl) to a white father werewolf and a human mother. As a young child, she always appreciated life and nature, often looking at the sky, at the plains, or the woods and watch the animals live and play out their daily lives. She even helped some of them when they were in harms way, yet also respecting nature's way of sacrifice. Usagi practiced with her father in communicating with animals and nature itself, with the practice of medicine and healing by her mother, who was greatly experienced in those arts. Her early life was happy and quite peaceful.
Yet suddenly, at age 9, Usagi and her family was approached by a shinigami at their house. The reaper warned the little girl that her parents will perish in very soon time. He said that one of them will perish brutally and violently, while the other will perish quietly and calmly. Yet he did not specify when and how it will come and vanished silently into the night. The parents were slightly worried but felt as if they can avoid death until their old age kicks in. However, they were wrong. On a night, directly two years after the shinigami's warning, Usagi's father was hunting at night when he was suddenly attacked by a bunch of farmers who believed him to be an evil demon out for blood. The werewolf father did not survive as he was stabbed repeatedly by pitchforks and was shot in the head as a finisher. Then, 5 years afterwards, Usagi's mother came down with a mysterious sickness. Even after the best attempts that Usagi had for medicine and healing, she could not save her mother from dying as she passed away silently in the late afternoon sun...
Now alone, Usagi had nowhere else to go. She was confused, unsure on what to do with her life, weather if she should continue living or kill herself and start again in a different reincarnation (so she thinks). However, before she could make her final decision, she was approached by the same shinigami who predicted her parents' deaths. He felt pity for the girl being all alone out in the world and was sorry for her predicament. Yet Usagi hadn't barked back... she didn't blame him. She knew that her parents were going to die anyways. Perhaps not in this way, but she knew that death was just a natural part of life, and that all living things expire at some point. Even if it takes them centuries or even millennias. The shinigami then offered Usagi to be one of the shinigamies herself, to have a purpose in life. She can then control and predict who lives and who dies, while also taking a life, saving a life, or maybe even reviving a life once every blue moon. The girl agrees and takes a scythe for herself, whom with some added features of her own, calls it the Shinpan no kama, or "The Scythe of Judgement."
Since then, she has predicted, saved, killed and revived thousands of people in her career. While she dislikes to bring death upon her blade, let alone telling the somber predictions of death, she does keep a straight face while quickly and painlessly put one person's misery to an end... and cries inside.
PowersLike many shinigamies, she is known to predict many people's fates in life and when they will die. However, unlike most of them, she can also breathe life into a deceased object or thing. This however depends on how much magical mana she can use, as all living things take a different source of mana to successfully revive them. For example, an average human being would take around 5,000 mana to successfully revive it. Yet the less mana being provided to said human, the less chance of it getting revived. To regain her power, she must either let it charge naturally for up to 2 hours (every hour equals 2,500 mana gained) or more, or to bathe in a mana pool in the shinigami realm. The mana can also be used to heal injuries of any kind. However, the reviving magic only works for organic organisms who died within the last 12 hours and it will not revive artificial robots and beings.
SkillsUsagi possesses great jumping abilities, as well as strength, rapid healing, and agility. She is also known to teleport anywhere that is in her line of sight, with only one special teleportation move to the shinigami realm.
WeaponsUsagi wields her own modified scythe she calls Shinpan no kama or "The Scythe of Judgement." Its comprised of a mixture of hard, yet light weight materials, in which it can slice through almost anything as if it were a stick of butter. It also happens to have the maximum capacity of holding in 10,000 mana at a time.
EquipmentUsagi carries around various herbs, medicines, and remedies to heal a person through natural means. In emergency circumstances, she carries a few extra mana and healing potions, with her mana potions having up to 500 in each one.
