Some people need to make a hard choice when deciding which two karaoke streams they want to listen to. I have no such weakness: I have two ears for a reason.

The hard part about trying to play some politically savvy mastermind is the assumption that the world operates off real world politics and not your DM’s politics.

Don't put too much stock in prophesies. At best they're full of shit, but more often than not they're one of those self-fullilling kinds. Plan for what happens afterwards instead.

A character isn't deep or compelling just because you let them get hurt a lot, are always depressed, or do morally questionable things.

If you're here either you're wondering what I'm doing cause I need to post in your RP (In which case, calm yo tits, I'll get around to it), or you want to know who I am. So let's begin.

I'm a college age asian kid who has more heart than he has senses. I'm still working out this whole "adulthood" thing, so until then I just do what I feel I must. As far as personality and traits go, I'm not one for boasting. So if there's anything redeeming about myself you'd have to figure it out in person or by word-of-mouth. Generally however I'm rather perverted, in the best and worst ways. nothing is too much until I've crossed the line, and that just means I've started.

As far as Roleplays I like, I have a thing for fantasy, though I'm also good for some types of sci-fi, supernatural, Modern, and slice-of-life. If it's open and sandbox, I'll probably join it. Never really been a romantic, I often chose to sexualize any notion of romantic encounters I come across. I generally write at Casual quality, though I have no issues with Free-Level Rp/Players and I can hold my own in Advance.

Noted. I'll be working on a CS then. Shouldn't take me too long. Hopefully.
I'll throw my lot into this. Give me some time and I'll even have a character up.

Question though: How hard are we going to go on mechanics like magic and such? I imagine it won't be 1-to-1 D&D, but I'm sure it'll get a bit exhausting having to deal with someone who has an infinite amount of fireballs, or who shuts down an epic battle against a boss because they're spamming Hold Person. Additionally, what would be the rough "level" of our characters as far as what we're able to do and/or experience?

Another question: What's the tech level we're operating at? Because when I hear western I think stuff like guns and trains, which opens up to a lot more technology than most fantasies are willing to explore. Tangibly related is there any limitation/importance to what sort of equipment we bring? I have it in mind to create an orc artificer who's basically on this job to get money to upgrade his armor, but I'll be a might disappointed if my armor fails to stand up against wooden arrows because of plot.
Werner shook his head grimly when asked if he knew anything about his daughter's whereabouts. "I've tried to look for her when I'm out but... Like I said they've done a good job covering their tracks. Only way I'd find them is if I give up everything I have here to do that and..." The old man simple sighs and shrugs his shoulders. He was still holding out on the hopes that his daughter may just end up coming back on her own, as unlikely as it was. "And beg pardon ma'am, but the chances of finding a place good enough to compete with Underhaven as a settlement seems unlikely. It's not like no one's tried to find a place to settle before they got here. But between the Cold Waves and the mutants still roaming these halls, it ain't exactly easy for settlers to find a place to call home. There's just a lot of logistics and such that goes into it that we simply can't get outside of Underhaven. But who knows... Maybe you'll find something out." Werner seems to think about what you said before standing up and walking away, mumbling to himself.

The camp was fairly quiet right now. People were throwing some new fuel to the fire and seemed to be getting ready to make a meal. Water and rations were being brought out. There was a new shift in guard too, though it just consisted of two from the wall being exchanged with two people from within Underhaven. Their equipment looked more or less the same. The only difference was that these guards looked visibly older: as in elderly men. This world was too dangerous to enable the old to rest, but even so it could be a cause for concern if your protectors are old enough to remember the old world. Or perhaps these were the type of people who could survive these harsh conditions despite their greater age. Fear old men in professions who die young, and all of that.

Donny tried not to think too much about what Ellie had said about herself and what she does here. On one hand, he gets it. You gotta do what you gotta do to survive, and there's some real freaks in this world. Even Donny has had... Strange urges from time to time. But he's managed to keep himself in check, if only because it was more practical for him to focus on his job than his base desires. Too many young men back at his colony practically devolve into beasts when they lack the sort of focus Donny can muster. When she left Donny looked at the mutant dog. He hasn't seen an animal that wasn't mutated and trying to kill him. Even some of the dogs back at his colony were so feral they're chained up anytime they're not suppose to tear someone apart. Made Donny wonder why anyone bothered to keep them given how uncontrollable they were.

Soon Ellie came back with a small barrel. She wanted two knives for it, one for the person who she got it from and one for herself. Donny scoffed, but produced two of his rebar knives. It wasn't really that bad of a deal, but he notes that next time he ought to just go look himself if he wanted the best price to himself. "Aight, fine you little brat. Just don't cut yourself on them. They're sharp, but I never made a sheath for them." Donny handed Ellie the two knives, handle first. Despite being made entirely of metal they were quite light, easy enough for even a child like her to handle. They lacked a proper hilt but the grove right underneath the blade was dull, to prevent accidents while cutting, and the threaded shape of the rebar that made up the handle gave it some extra grip. "Now then, I got work to do. Now that I got some heat and time, I can work my magic." Donny carefully stood up to gather up his equipment and prepare the area he had to turn it into a makeshift forge. He'll need to be careful as the small keg wouldn't burn nearly as hot as he'd like, but he could use what heat it does produce to make some of the scrap metal he has malleable, which would give him the precious opportunity to shape them into parts he needs to make the rifle operational.

"Hope the others won't mind the noise, because it's about to get busy here."
The smell of herbs and moisture was strong this morning. This was one of the few times Domic was lucky enough to be alone at the communal baths while his tub was smaller than most, and lacked a heater, the quiet was something he could only find in his dreams. It was hard for him to connect with his fellow hunters. They seemed so… Jolly. So eager. Most were aces as well. It made Domic feel lesser. Weaker. He couldn’t drag them down to his level.

As he dunked his head into the ice cold water Domic felt his body engulfed once more, and his skin felt like it was burning despite bathing. When he got out his stomach growled and as usual, Domic began chewing on his tongue. The metallic taste teased his hunger. ”Lets eat.” after drying off Domic donned his clothes, followed by his armor, and head to the cantina.

It was loud and bustling. Hunters, handlers, researchers, and Palicos were out and about doing their business. Domic did his best to stay out of the way as he made his way to his table. But as he did, he saw that there were no seats. From all the noise and hubbub, it seemed like everyone was at the gathering hall. All good and seats were there due to the comet. ”Right. Forgot about that.” Domic never much liked the gathering hall. Too far from his gardens. Too many people. But he’ll deal with it. He had to.

Sure enough there were large crowds at the Gathering Hall. So many people coursing, singing, and feasting. Domic ordered some food and went to find a table, though he had to eat with a group of strangers. He minded his business as he ate his meal; a big hunk of roasted wyvern tail, with buttered bread, served with a side of rice with Mosswine brain curry, and a large mug of wyverian brandy. Domic ate heartily as he passively listened to others chat and talk. Apparently there was some big mission going to happen soon. Domic was considering it.

Money’s been a bit tight since Domic commissioned his Super Scattergun. He’s been able to pay his living expanses easy enough via gathering and his garden, but he wouldn’t be able to pay for any equipment upgrades unless he can find a real good bounty. This could be his lucky break. Of course, he might end up having to work with others but… He’ll just have to deal with it. He had to.

At the notice board Domic simply wrote his name in the biggest, newest request. Hearing that something fell from the meteor does sound interesting, though Domic doubts it’s anything too big. Otherwise the older hunters would’ve already been sent out. Domic knew how this usually goes down: eager boobies go out thinking they’ve found a big haul, and fueled by youth they lay down the ground works for a new settlement or research base, but it’ll be years before it yields any results. In the mean time the youth will just clear out the local threats and await further orders. That’s how it usually goes.

”And if it doesn’t… That’s when things get messy.”

After signing up for the job Domic turned to head back to his room. He’ll need to stick up on supplies. Potions, rations, bombs, ammo. They’re heading north so that could also mean cold weather. Fortunately his armor was quite adapt at dealing with the cold, but some hot drinks would be helpful nonetheless. There was also the possibility that once he’s up there, he won’t be coming back to Astera for a while. He’ll need to make arrangements for someone to tend to hos garden and ferry supplies to wherever he’ll be going. A bunch of logistical stuff.

”Work’s never done.”
Been a busy week for me! Will try to make a post within a day!
Finally finished editing my profile, commentary and all.

I see that everyone only has sparkling reviews for each other. Really, this group will come together through mutual love, admiration, and honest trust. I can feel it.

That or the fact that we're all pretty good at murdering things and not letting each other get murdered by said things. One of the two.

Give it time. Either we find mutual respect for each other through the blood of the covenant, or we literally sell each other out as soon as the opportunity presents itself. It could go either way!
Oh okay I see it now. About two weeks ago. Tis what happens when you take a while to post, I only did my spear roll.

Also I’ll be taking the 3 points. I’m putting 1 point into Spear, Agility, and Stealth.
Wait were we suppose to rol perception for something? I don’t recalled being asked to roll perception for anything.
If anyone had told Reyvadin that he was going to meet god, he would consider you a madman at best, or potentially an assassin at worst. If you told him that the devil was going to come to earth and bring upon a reckoning the likes that he’s never seen, the young noble would’ve already been twenty paces away. But reality was far stranger than fiction. A good book, a good story, has a sense of progression, pacing, and logic that seems obvious once you read the whole book. Even surprises can feel natural once you’ve seen what has been happening in the background.

So what the hells happened that day, that a demon and dragon would do battle on the mortal realm and with such power it could wipe out a mountain?

Nothing Reyvadin has witnessed or read before could’ve explained it to him. He’s seen blizzards bury towns in snow and ice. He’s seen ocean storms destroy a nord fleet in minutes. He’s even once witnessed the ground split open and swallow up a fortress (he later learned these things are called “Earthquakes”). But what he witnessed that day was none of that and more. For all the stories he read of demons and dragons they’ve been just that: stories. Creatures of fantasy meant to represent aspects of man that are often thought too powerful for mere mortals to handle. Indeed, the world doesn’t need the likes of demons and dragons to represent humanity's cruelty when humans are more than capable of turning into monsters themselves. So to see them in the flesh, and see them literally shape the world with their cataclysm clash… It was a stark reminder of Reyvadin's insignificance in this world.

”There's always bigger fish.”

Reyvadin survival during that disaster could only be attributed to either the gods' blessing or the devil’s luck. Like many he was flung into the air by the sheer force of the winds. And while most were broken by being smashed against the ground or impaled in trees, Reyvadin fortunately had only been slammed into a nearby tree, which he then was able to use as cover as more debris and bodies were thrown around. Even as his tree was uprooted, Reyvadin was able to find a sturdier tree to hang onto until winds had died. What was left was nothing, the ruined village they had found was reduced to a dirt lot, and even the forest nearby became at best naked trees and broken branches. This was well beyond the ability any human could bring forth.

Alas as awe-inspiring as that calamity was, Reyvadin needed to keep moving. He found one of the dead brigands and managed to take their knife, some of their supplies, and their clothing. A new cloak and some armor would go a long way to making it in this world. He managed to find some silver lordings among the ruins, and even a bent spear. While the spear blade itself was useless, Reyvadin simply removed the blade and kept the shaft. It was in much better quality than the previous sharpen branch he had previously.

After scavenging what he could, Reyvadin eventually found the others as well. While they weren’t looking great they were alive. And as scuffed their tactics were they lived, their enemies died, and thus they were the victors. Reyvadin wasn’t going to be too caught up in the what-ifs and should-haves. As the group traveled, they were soon joined by three strangers. They didn’t seem to be brigands (or if they were they were at least well mannered). The woman seemed to be a mercenary, and the elf-man seemed to be another criminal. Who caught Reyvadin’s eye was the burrowfolk. Unlike Migi, he seemed more polite. But it was the sort of politeness that Reyvadin gets from slave traders: hospitable and gregarious to their customers, and still wholly willing to profit off another man’s struggles and suffering. It made Reyvadin’s nostalgic.

Travel was grueling. Reyvadin was no stranger to marches but he had little more than threadbare shoes he stole off the dead, and they were already getting worn down. Thus his feet were getting sore and blistered, and with their cloaks as the only form of comfort at night they often slept on cold, hard ground. It made Reyvadin miss a simple pair of good boots or a bedroll. But after two days of travel they finally managed to make it to civilization. Varone.

“Aye, Skywatcher, let’s head on in. And watch your pockets. No doubt thieves are out and about to prey on the weak and naive today.”
