@Dark Cloud If nothing else, maybe incidents like this can give Zag a chance at character development. His "honor" is not the same as everyone else's. He's not among dragonborn, he's among humans, elves, gnomes, and shifters. He'll need to learn how to conduct himself among these unfamiliar people. Morality is not so black and white that everyone follows the same set of good and evil, even in a world where there are gods who try to categorize such things.

@Dark Cloud Aight. Just saying I've seen this happen a lot before in other groups. Someone gets the bright idea to act a bit brash, and the impact of their actions affect more people than they think. Usually what happens next is the offender claims that they had permission to do whatever it was that was causing a problem, which basically means anyone who are bothered can basically get fucked. This leaves a bad taste when it feels like a DM basically allows someone to be an ass and get away with it. Grudges are formed. Or people just leave.

I've seen it happen at least seven times. Four times in RPGuild itself. I try to learn from those experiences and nip that bud real quick.

Incidentally examples like I just said also tends to happen historically, with knights and such. They get permission from their lords to do something existentially "okay", like dealing with bandits. In the process the knights start shaking down the peasants and merchants, taking stuff, and generally being hostile to everyone they think might have something to do with banditry. Now the peasants don't like them, but when they try to appeal to their local lord they basically get told the knights are allowed to do that. This creates hostilities. That's more or less where Domic is coming from.

@Dark Cloud Probably why. This is going to be a contravention opinion I think, because everyone wants to play what they want. But in my experience? Characters who can't get along with the rest of the party or cause drama because "it's what their character would do" not only won't last very long, but typically the party itself won't. This isn't a school project where the teachers put students together and everyone has to just tolerate each other. Everyone is an adult, and that means they do have the choice of whether or not they want to work with people who may or may not be a liability. And if too many people are willing to tolerate someone who's obviously just going to bring trouble? that's how you get people to just abandon the group, until eventually it's just the problem child, and those who don't have the spine to stand up against them.

@Dark Cloud it'll be a tossup considering Domic is also a barb, so if he can get his rage off he's just as durable. Plus Domic has better AC. Zagren would need to win initiative, crit, and roll very well for damage to win by turn two. And considering they're both barbarians, reckless attack is going to be a given. So Domic's 17 AC vs Zagren's +6 attack means Zagren has about a 45% chance to actually hurt Domic, compared to Domic's +5 attack vs Zagren's 14 AC, which gives Domic 55% chance to hit.

Ultimately it boils down to who wins init. Zagren's acid breath will get through rage resistance but Domic's danger sense gives him advantage in the Dex save and +2 Dex is decent, especially with advantage backing it up.

Conquest of Caldaria

Yurt picked up the knives, testing their balance and sharpness. He had a keen eye for detail and could tell these were functional, though not particularly fancy. More for hobby use than for hunting or war. "Hmm... I'll give you 6 denarius for all three." As you went to get a bow and quiver, Yurt gathered a few bundles of arrows for you. Nothing fancy: basic iron tips, light but sharp.

The difficult part would be getting a good enough bow. The cheapest ones you wouldn't even want to use for hunting: they lacked the strength to put any meaningful force behind the arrow, and we're best left for training. You would find a good one for 20 denarius: it was a full bow, not quite as big as a proper longbow but certainly better than your current shortbow. Took a bit longer to draw but the range and power you can put behind it would be well worth the cost.

"Let's see, with all that, including trading these knives, will cost you 30 denarius. Anything else I can get for you?"

Berserker is fun, if risky. I honestly can't say I like the exhaust drawback. Takes way too long to heal, and even longer to even have counter measures. And I don't think any of us can even learn Greater Restoration even if we do get that high of a level.

Domic was about to rush forward to cut Zagren down when Kyra of all people came out of nowhere to chastise him. He was considering turning his blade on her too when she threw his own words back at his face. "Tch... Fuck. Fine! But let me make this clear: I don't give a shit about honor. But if you go around being an ass just because you don't like who they are, especially to me, you better have a damn good reason or be ready to fight. Honor's just bullshit people say so they can get away with being assholes, and I ain't about to tolerate that shit." Through gritted teeth, Domic sheathed his axe and went over to help Zagren up. Sure, he doesn't like the guy, and frankly if the opportunity presents itself again Domic will probably try to kill him, but Kyra was right. Zagren was part of the team, and even Domic understood the importance of working together as a team and dealing with idiosyncrasy. As much as it annoys him. Just because Domic has no honor doesn't mean it's okay for him to be an ass either.
