Nathaniel walked out of the first floor lobby with a wrinkle in his brow as he weighed his options. He could rule out the race immediately. And while he wasn't a bad swimmer, he also wasn't great at it either. That really just left the athletics and the talent show.

Nathaniel had always been fairly limber, and he had been getting some physical conditioning with Brad. Still, acrobatics seemed way out of Nathaniel's league. In the controlled environment of an Action Field and with Solid Vision assistance, then maybe. But there was no way Nathaniel could just do that by himself.

So that only really left him with the talent show, although even then, Nathaniel still felt himself with a sense of dread. He remembered back to his embarrassing display during his placement duel. Getting in front of those same people again and performing for them did not distill him with any sense of confidence. Still, it was his only realistic option. Perhaps he could just go with something low-key. His mother had taught him the piano. Maybe heading to the music venue would be a good starting point.

With that, Nathaniel headed into the elevator and rode up to floor 3.
Sitting at a table, Nathaniel slid his new deck into his Duel Disk and marveled at the new weight of his deck. Admittedly, it was still the same weight as the 40-card decks he has always been using, but it certainly felt heavier. He had taken the lessons from his last duel to heart, and changed his deck to hold more power than ever before. Still, a small part of him worried about whether he could handle that much power, since he hasn't had such a great track record with it in the past. Yet most of him felt excited about these new changes.

His thoughts were cut short however, when a random student came in and yelled at the students at the table to leave. They scattered like birds, and Nathaniel left with them. Once he was quite a distance away, he closely observed the new arrival. The student looked pretty old, but more importantly, he was wearing a uniform that Nathaniel had never seen before. Judging by its dark colors, Nathaniel could only guess that the student was from the Dark Dorm he had read about in the student handbook.

These guys were definitely bad news, and as Nathaniel prepared to leave him well enough alone, another student, looking to be a Light Dorm, actually went up and talked to him. This did not seem like it would end well, and not wishing to be around when disaster strikes, Nathaniel turned and mixed himself in another group of Earth Dormers.
Name: Trap Economics
Trap type: Continuous
Effect: You do not pay Life Points to activate Trap Cards.

Seems really really abusable.
@Jangel13

To my knowledge Joshua, Michelle, and Nathaniel are all in the card shop. The former two are having a conversation, while the latter just bought cards.
Name: Supervisor
Level: 4
Attribute: EARTH
Monster Type(s): Warrior
Effect: If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If you do, Special Summon one Gemini Monster from your hand, and equip this card to that monster. A Gemini Monster equipped with this card is treated as an Effect Monster, and gains its effects. You cannot Normal Summon/Set the turn you activate this effect. You can only activate each effect of "Supervisor" once per turn.
ATK/DEF: 1600/1200

I would say make it "If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can..."

Other than that, I think it's alright.
First of all, I'm not telling you to relinquish your win. I'm clearing up a ruling and nothing else.

Second of all, if we're going to follow the card text exactly, the card text very clearly says that it must be sent to the Graveyard while equipped to a monster. Well, if the monster's destroyed, then the card's no longer equipped. It's just game mechanics.

Third of all, the GM very clearly stated how the card works (which makes me wonder why he didn't pick up on it this time).

In any case, I'm just stating a ruling. I'll let Ammok decide what to do from here.
Well, I linked to the ruling, but I'll quote it if I have to:

"If a monster Equipped with Dragunity Aklys is removed from the field and Aklys is sent to the Graveyard, you can NOT destroy a card on the field. Since the monster is no longer present, Aklys was not Equipped to a monster when it was destroyed; it was instead destroyed by game mechanics."

<Snipped quote by EviiPaladin>

Heads up for next time, Aklys does not work like that. If Aklys is destroyed due to the equipped monster leaving the field, be it Synchro, destruction, or otherwise, then Aklys is no longer considered to be equipped when it is destroyed and it cannot activate its effect.

Yes, I dug this up all the way from page 134.
Name: Miracle Maker
Level: 3
Attribute: LIGHT
Monster Type(s): Spellcaster / Gemini / Tuner
Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:
  • When you use this card as a Synchro Material Monster, you can also Fusion Summon an appropriate Fusion Monster using the Synchro Material Monsters as Fusion Material Monsters.
ATK/DEF: 1000/800

Oh sweet lord, please no.
Name: Holder of Knowledge
Level: 2
Attribute: LIGHT
Monster Type(s): Spellcaster / Gemini / Tuner
Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect.
  • When you use this card as Synchro Material, one other Synchro Material Monster can be from your hand.
ATK/DEF: 0/0

Okay, I'm not a big fan of this card. When you look at Tuners that Synchro from the hand like T.G. Cyber Magician and Mara of the Nordic Alfar, they typically have heavy archetype restrictions. Even the splashable ones either severely weaken the Synchro Monster (Eccentric Boy) or are much harder to get out (Tatsunoko).

Plus, when I look at some of the previous cards you've made, like Arcane Master combined with Gemini support combined with Arcanite everything, it seems like a bit much.

Now that I have whined about balance, it's time to give my character more cards.

@Ammokkx

I'll have Nathaniel spend 40 points on Starter Deck: Yuya since the first one is discounted, and 15 more points on another set of (guess what?) BOSH. That would be 55 points total.
