If the fighter wasn't blasting an IFF signal (and why would it be, while engaging a target?) there's not going to be anything conclusive from ATC or radar. That's just not how the technology works. Anyway the Kremlin is being a lot more forthcoming than the white house right now. This seems like a cosmic fuck-up, not a conspiracy. Somebody pushed the wrong button (or pushed the right one, but targeted the wrong plane). The Pixar Theory + New Information (Possible roleplay in the future)

Somehow I remember all this sounding much, much more compelling the last time I read about it. This writeup (the link I mean) seems...... not the same as what I remember. Idunno. What The Hell, Elder Scrolls?

1. Install the 'Inconsequential NPCs' mod, and clear this right up. Supplement with 'Populated roads,' and other such population mods. Suddenly you need a party of ten to clear a fortress -- and that's awesome.

2. ESO revisited Skyrim (albeit in an earlier age) and did a much, MUCH better job of filling it up with NPCs.

Zone three -- Locate store early. Store carries an additional charge laser. Revamp loadout, sell a bunch of shit, now running two charge lasers. Aight.
Zone four -- Encounter strange ship selling shit I don't need. Decline. Offers to sell translator instead. Purchase. Translator is now my second crewmember.
Zone four B -- Locate store. Purchase second Lanius crewmember. Vent ship's atmosphere.
Zone four C -- Encounter slaver; liberate additional Lanius crewmember.
Zone four D -- mantis ambush targets cockpit. Engi destroyed. Crew is entirely made up of Lanius and drones henceforth; vent all remaining atmosphere and disable oxygen system.
Zone five -- breeze through. Locate store; purchase Swarm missile system (unable to use due to scrap/weapon system constraints). Armament is now two charge laser pods and charged missiles. Fucking. Sick.
Zone six -- breeze through. Upgrade cloaking and hacking.
Zone Seven -- Breeze through. Ship is almost fully upgraded, potentially the best possible loadout. Combat drone mark 2. Advanced hacking. Advanced cloaking. Full reactor. Full shields. Shit engines, but who cares; weapons nearly fully augmented.

Zone Seven exit -- rebel scout is trying to flee, engage? Naturally. Launch attack. Disable enemy shields. Defeat boarding foes and breach drone. Target enemy engines and navigation to disable craft. Enemy launches its final-chance missile. Cloak to dodge.

Missile hits anyway. Ship destroyed. Layout C remains locked. FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKKKKKKK YOU REBEL SCUM
