Act two of the original three is done. It is about 100 pages and 23k words. I'll be merging the first two acts into one and the book will end up being about twice as long as originally projected.

Act 1 of 3 is done. It’s about 100 pages and 23k words and has a prelude, 8 chapters, and an interlude. I’m looking at 100k words as an approximate goal.

Bio

Thrawn: "I have read about the nightswan. Have you?"

Nightswan: "You refer to the fact that it sings only as night is falling?"

Thrawn: "Yes. You do not expect your stand to succeed, do you?"

Nightswan: "I know that it won't succeed."

Thrawn: "That does not necessarily mean the end. I can give orders for you to be taken unharmed."

Nightswan: "They will be ignored. Half the troops here are Batonn Defense and Restos is determined to get rid of me."

Thrawn: "Then come with me now!"

Nightswan: "A man must do what he must, Admiral Thrawn. Even if his stand is against the fall of eternal night."

Air pressure cannot pull, not even a vacuum can do that. It only pushes from an area of higher pressure from an area of lower pressure. Lessening pressure around the hands wouldn't loosen the grip if there was no air in between.

A better way might be to apply a strong breeze directed at the points where Mishka's fingers contact Graham's neck to prise them off. It might not be as strong as those other methods, but it is probably safer.

Please understand that I'm not trying to attack you with this, just trying to find a way for our story to follow established rules and be internally consistent with what characters can and cannot do.

I've edited it.
@DFTBA
The lifter is pulling, not expanding in-between the two.
I'm interested
Who are ground, car and lifter in this analogy? I've lost track of how that relates to poor Graham.

Ground would be Graham, the car is Mishka's hand and the lifter (who is flying in the scenario) is Geoff's power. Also, I edited the ending to the post like Zoldyck suggested.

EDIT: Dammit - I shoulda waiting a few minutes, now I won't get 1000 without double posting, which I won't do.
<Snipped quote by Melkor>

Yes, yes it does.

I meant in a scenario in which you're not touching the ground(like you were flying and picked the car up, the ground is fine - the ground is Graham's neck). Also, Rune, Graham can't heal himself...

Well, you could possibly alter the ending that Mishka is no longer floating or anything like that, else we'll probably be stuck for atleast two posts with Mishka not being able to do anything except for floating and getting more upset... :P

If you want to alter the post then that's fine by me, no one responded to it yet anyway. But dont feel forced to do so, alright? :)

I'll do that when I get an open window. I'm stuck reorganizing the children's section after what seemed like every kid in the world decided to take every book off of the shelves.
In that case I apologize. I saw no other way to stop the strength based Mishka. You said I shouldn't change the post?(considering the reasons that I should) Also, DFTBA - I thought of it more as what she experienced. If you lift a car, is the ground underneath the car experiencing the pressure it took to lift it? I thought of it in the same way in this case.
Apologies for the double post. Is what I did considered god-modding?

Edit - I've never actually seen it myself, so I don't know exactly what it looks like.
Geoffrey Burr

Geoffrey's gaze remained unabridged as he awaited Graham Turner's release. The hulk of a girl shifted her sights in Geoff's direction as she spoke.

"I know that fighting is not allowed sir and so we are not fighting. I am just asking for an appology and decided to lift him up so we could talk face-to-face. Nothing wrong with that is the-"

There are a few things wrong with that, yes...

During her explanation, Graham seemingly decided that it was about high-time he cut into the conversation. Not a smart move, considering his position in the matter.

“Yes! Yes! Listen to the manly voice of wise wisdom and kindness! Mr. Turner would like to go down now, please? Miiisssshhhkkkaaa, pwetty pwease? With borscht on top?”

Beet soup atop of his plea? I feel as though that would not taste very good. Also... Was that meant as provocation?

“OH GOD NO! NO NO NO! I DIDN’T MEAN THAT! PLEASE!”

Clearly not...

Mishka's grip became noticeably tighter... "Mishka. Let. Him. Go." Burr's voice maintained its low tone. The pressure in the hallway increased to the point where a few students began complaining, to the neighbors, about their ears popping.

She didn't seem to hear him at all. In fact, she turned to Graham and said "I beg your pardon?" her voice and face became noticeably less sane... That's the only way to describe it... Like an animal's instinct to kill. Her eyes seemed to do a number on Turner.

"That is quite enough." Geoff wasn't going to have another second of it. The pressure in the hall returned to normal. Mishka began to lift off of the ground This one is heavy... and her fingers were pushed from Graham's neck, the pressure, caused by the wind, was immense, enough to life a car, or two by Geoff's estimate. Not that she was holding with that pressure, it was simply difficult to remove a grip of steel provided by someone with super strength.

Geoff set Graham down and said, "Meredith is waiting, the bell will rin-" And the bell rang. The students rushed off to class until it was Graham, Geoff, and a no longer floating Mishka left in the hallway.
