When you become popular enough to be called famous by any metric, you do garner haters by nature. I’m sure something like that is the sad truth to their motivation.

Not for my own opinion of myself, I don’t. I like what I do, I enjoy what I do, and if something I make or do is not something that I like, then it gets redone, or binned entirely. If others see value in it too, then great. That means I’m on my A-game, or that they can relate, or the quality is high, or all of the above. But if something exists with my name on it, you can bet that I enjoyed it and thought it was worth.

Lonely? I mean, nothing about not outsourcing your confidence says you can’t also enjoy others’ company. Nor does it mean you can’t appreciate when others respect you or your capabilities.

Then they can validate. If you’ve got any faith or confidence whatsoever in what you’re doing, then they’ll be able to see it if they just look. You don’t have to feel like you need it from them.
