If his chest is pressed that tightly against Kanitah, then there's no conceivable way that he can have his foot wrapped around Kanitah's foot. Unless they're both lying down flat against eachother, at which point there's no way the grapple would work for either of them. Rolling would be so easy that Kanitah shifting his weight would roll Fury over.

That's what's happening, the only thing resisting your character just trying to roll over is Fury's weight (which is insignificant to us) but also Fury's star-fished and pressing your character's legs down to the ground, any roll you attempt would have to come from your shoulders and hips and have to overpower Fury's leg strength. His knees are barely if at all touching the ground, though they would still probably be clenching your character's hips. His chest doesn't have to be directly on top of Kanitah's as your own arms width would increase the distance between the two characters, but this wouldn't help Kanitah punch with them, they'd still be sandwiched.

Besides which, as I've already mentioned, Fury doesn't really care about anything other than establishing a choke by which he can steal enough energy to sustain any attack Kanitah launches, while simultaneously killing him.

But regardless, though you have many options available, I think that launching an attack with your hands in that fashion is unrealistic, and maybe even impossible.
Seriously, I'm really worried we're imagining different things here. Kanitah's hands and arms are crushed beneath Fury's chest and stomach at the moment, you'd have to free them and angle punches at his sides, which would be difficult anyway which is why most people don't try and strike an opponent when they're the ones on their backs.

I only allowed the nearly impossible palm strike because I assumed Kanitah might have a moment to react with his hands before Fury threw his weight down and lay flat on top of him.

Fury isn't like arched over Kanitah and then bent down at the top to choke him, that would be both retarded and not at all what I posted.
Not much to go on, but I think I could beat @MelonHead's Mech with only the power portal, the Bass Cannon and/or Solar Staff. Though the Solar Staff alone would be harder to do it with.

Well, it's the difference between a mid tier character and a character pushing towards god tier.

Scion seems to have the ability to bend reality to his own perceptions, which is way way way way way above the level of any of my conventional characters.
Read everything again, you also had your character step forward on his left hand side, in response to an attack to his left shoulder? Maybe it's just me, but that seems counter-intuitive to effectively parrying a strike that by all rights is going to be more effective than your defence.

Interesting point. Let's get a take on that. I don't think anyone will get their feelingd hurt. So who is a tough out. For me, the top three I'd say are; Melon, Rilla when he's on, then DJ.

Heh, cheers.

If I had to pick a top three, from what I've read (and I confess, I haven't seen everyone who has fought fight yet) I'd say Skallagrim definitely has the most 'real world' experience from my point of view, which gives him a significant advantage most of the time. Following him would probably be Khan, who definitely does his research (I'd say my own talents lie in the same area, I'm pretty good at researching different practical forms of hurting people.) and the third would probably be Rilla with the right character in hand, namely some quick magic using bastard.
Also, you're going to take Brennus' head off with a wooden longsword? That's remarkable. You also just effortlessly parried a two handed attack with one hand, after admitting your character was the weaker, also very interesting.

I'm not going to argue, as I've already said my attack was cursory and careful, though I'm confused as to why you've begged to differ in your post and turned it into some sort of huge theatrical swinging assault which is cumbersomely slow and weak. I'm pretty sure your character is using a wooden longsword the same as mine, so you don't have some sort of longsword Vs Fencing sword advantage here.
Passatas are footwork, yes. A gran passata is when you move your non-dominant foot forward and then follow that with an attack, like what Brennus did. It lets you shoot forward great distances, but is also somewhat unwieldy.

As long as what's happening is understandable, everything is fine, then.

Maybe I made a mistake somewhere, I'll re-read my post, but I'm fairly certain Brennus moved forward on his dominant foot (right foot) because he's right handed while simultaneously striking down with his sword.

As for the technical terms bit, I'd only really use technical names for things which can be googled to quickly get an image of them because it's much-much easier than trying to explain where every part of your body is. I did however also include a brief explanation of what the stance was afterwords.

Read my post, no mistake, he stepped forward on his right foot.

I have unfortunately not fought two of the three presented, and the one fight I remember having with Melon was never resolved or had a clear upper hand.

I have actually fought few in my time and the fights never seem to have resolved.

You never replied when Adrian swung for your character's head, if I remember correctly, so that was on you.

To clarify, I've never, ever, abandoned a fight in OOC, though I have ran off in IC.
Brennus noted immediately that his opponent seemed not to notice his stare, but neither did he meet it. This suggested to the Iceni that Florian was probably a coward, and that this fight would be brief and uninteresting. He began to feel this was ever more likely the case when they reached a comfortable fighting distance and his foe left himself exposed and presented his sword in a particularly unthreatening way. Should Brennus have been granted the use of a shield, he would have simply bum-rushed and battered the man to the ground before beating him with the wooden sword, but such was not to be the case.

Instead, Brennus launched a fairly simple attack, stepping forward on his right foot to grant himself extra reach as he lifted his weapon slightly and pushed down with his forward hand, with the effect of delivering a speedy vertical cut towards Florian’s left shoulder, compensating for the fact that he seemed to be leaning forward slightly and would probably yank himself back when the attack came.

The beauty of Brennus’ simple assault was that it was incredibly low risk, such a cut could be blocked, but countering it was unlikely.
Like dead on mid-tier, maybe a little below.
