@Fallenreaper In regards to Iron it's not that big a deal but stating your character's physical characteristics are 'human' isn't very specific. It essentially means 'human average' which isn't very representative of an obviously physically fit human. There's also a pretty huge range of strengths and speeds that humans are capable of.

Plus in lower tier battles you tend to have a triangle of skill strength and speed, with one of the three being sacrificed for the others for balance reasons. Just because it's highly unlikely any two humans will match each other in strength and speed.

As your character is wiry they would probably favour speed a little over physical strength.
I bet I could beat y'all with a Rilla doll, a bulbous Melonhead and bubblegum.

That's a powerful set of weapons you've got there.
Unless you just decided on the cuff that the only reason I participate in Arena is because I like to win rather than have fun with no real links to the pertaining conversation, in which case you just like making dickish baseless statements, congratulations.

@MelonHeadIf you don't roleplay to have fun, then what do you do it for?

I think you should read through what was said a little more carefully, as you essentially questioned why I RP if not to have fun, after I said that rule of cool was not the -only- point of the Arena, essentially suggesting you believe the only way to have fun is unrealistic combat.

Pretty clear to me.

Hah, yup, that's Athinar, always batshit crazy. :P

He looks somewhat like I imagine a theatrical Vietnam Vet looks like when having flashbacks.
I think it's safe to say that the hallway and staircase are ninety degrees to each other?

So like, from a top down perspective with north straight up, maybe the hallway is at the six o clock and the staircase is at the nine o clock?

Yeah that's how I imagined it.
Both Raid films were epic. I have yet to find kung fu films as brutal as those.

Hell yes, pretty much the best thing the new Star Wars has going for it is it has Raid's choreographer.
As Adrian stood there, bow drawn and ready, the arrow primed to pierce his quarry’s heart with lethal force, the last thing he expected was for his opponent to become temporarily insane. The man leapt side wards and backwards, in order to scuttle behind the natural corner in the corridor about twenty feet ahead of the Vampire. He also simultaneously deployed some form of dark blade which seemed incorporeal and reeked of magic to the Nosferatu. Adrian paused, lowering his bow and releasing some of the tension, somewhat bemused as he listened to his foe’s heavy footsteps carrying him down the corridor, followed by a thumping scraping sound he presumed was either the man falling over or jumping down for some reason. Adrian turned his head in confusion, wondering if his entertainment was over already, there was after all a significant danger the crazy man had just fell upon his own sword.

“Why has my arrow,
Brought upon him such distress,
Does he fear death so?”

Adrian’s voice echoed with a sing song quality, accentuating the strangeness of his Eastern European accent. He walked slowly down the corridor, out of sheer habit utilizing his ability to muffle his footsteps, allowing him to move silently. He was alert to any sounds his foe made, after throwing himself to the ground around the corner, as he hugged the far side of the corridor from the corner, which incidentally was to Adrian’s left, he quickly turned, bow once again drawn and primed, ready to fire point blank into his foe if he had revealed himself. However, if he made noise and betrayed movement, Adrian’s caution would prevent him from turning the corner immediately.
Slight issue there, you said your character came round the corner in your initial post (hence being able to see Adrian) but then you had him walking forward (towards Adrian) as he spoke, hence me tracking the distance between them. That would put you out of range of the safety of the corner in the corridor.

This is less me trying to get an advantage over you and more for people reading wondering what the hell just happened. Useful training I suppose as well.

I could just work with it actually, though it's going to make your character look a trifle insane.

Do you think only portraying unrealistic and theatrical combat is fun?

I'm a history student, so funnily enough some degree of realism is of interest to me. It's still fantastical in nature, but that doesn't mean it has to be stupid.

I'm the sort of person who sees the stupid hovering kicks in martial arts films and thinks it ruins the entire film, where-as things like the Raid, with by all accounts realistic choreography, is fucking awesome.
