I already have a thread up, so just ignore the date on it. Here's the link: roleplayerguild.com/topics/89963-jubil..

Would anyone be interested in a sci-fi RP inspired by the original Star Trek? A crew on aboard a ship, traveling the vastness of space in search of new species and civilizations?
Bump

Name: Mackenzie "Kenzie" Searoby
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Species: Wolpine, savage species

Rank: Petty Officer

Role: Security officer

Sexuality: Heterosexual

ESP rating: Medium (Mild empathy)

Personality: Kenzie is a bit of an odd character. Found by the crew aboard an abandoned slaver ship, the man has been a little off since the first day he was brought back to the crew. He has displayed nothing but gratitude since his rescue, but although he means well, Kenzie is a little rough around the edges. Having pleaded to be allowed to stay with the crew to repay his dept, Kenzie was made a security officer due to his strength, durability, courage, and hand to hand fighting skill. But he's been known to use a little more force than necessary at times.

He's a bit of rough neck, often times not realizing his own strength, or the strength of those he's tussling with. While sparring with fellow officers in the past, Kenzie had been known to accidentally injure them. For which he is always incredibly sorry, but it happens all the same.

Aside from his violent fighting skills, Kenzie is pretty well behaved. He does what he's told to the best of his skill, and does his best to stay out trouble. He's kind of like a large child in that he has a knack for getting himself into messy situations. However, he is incredibly loyal to his crew. He's often kind to others, with a soft spot for those he favors, easily excited, and courageous when he needs to be. He does, however, still have nightmares and flashes back to when he was working for the slavers, against his own will. These episodes are best dealt with by getting him to relax and perhaps giving him a mild sedative to let him sleep them off.

Appearance: Kenzie has a very muscular build. He's very solid and stocky, standing only at 5'5". His skin is a dark tan color with a multitude of scars spreading across it. He has black hair and dark brown eyes. His hair, worn long and wavy, extends into a sort of mane that runs down his spine. He has thin tufts of hair on both of his ears, which come to a point and are mildly flexible. His back has darker brown spots that freckle it. His nails come to a point, almost like claws. He has more body hair than the typical human male, but with a more fur-like consistency. In his resting form, he has a short, stumpy tail that protrudes from his spine. It's not long enough to cut a hole in his pants for, so few people even know about it.

Kenzie, being a Wolpine, has the ability to morph into a werewolf-ish creature. He grows dark brown fur, long fangs and claws, a tail, and golden eyes. His strength and stamina is almost doubled. Intelligence in this state is, however, brought down almost half. Uncontrolled or enraged, a shifted wolpine acts almost as though on some sort of pcp: aggression is high and self preservation is low.

About the Wolpine:

The Wolpine are an old race from the savage planet of Talga. Their society is very dog eat dog, with no real government to make overall laws. Needless to say, their planet is classed as savage. They survive by forming packs with three to four different families. These packs build villages and defend them from other packs. Strays and loners usually don't live long on Talga.

The entire species has the ability to take on a wolfish form. In this form, they have increased strength, speed, and senses. It's typically used for fighting, and thus feelings of rage or fear can bring the creature out, whether the wolpine wants it or not. Shifting is pretty difficult to control, and once it's begun, it's even harder to stop. In their wolfish form, they are more prone to rage issues and lack of self control. However, with practice, they can eventually control their shifting, and even do it on will.

Their diet consists mostly of animal protein. They hunt in groups of five or six to bring down the large game animals that roam their plains. Wolpine have a high metabolism, and must eat every five hours to remain comfortable.

Wolpine are a popular slave species due to their savage strength. They make great soldiers, and are often used as such by other races to fight their battles. Sometimes they get paid for their servitude, and sometimes they don't. Either way, they usually have no choice when it comes to being taken from their planet. At one point, the entire species was at war with another, the Galodians, over their planet. The Galodians had invaded and proceeded to hunt them like animals and sell the captives. They finally won the war, running the Galodians off of their planet for good.

The wolpine celebrate several holidays, the biggest being Valenhop: a celebration of when their species won the Galodian war. It's typically celebrated by large feasts and gift giving. All pillaging and fighting is paused for one day of peace and coming together.

Another popular holiday is Matesren Day, when the wolpine celebrate their mates by giving them gifts and special attention.

The wolpine's courtship process is fairly standard. They find someone they get along with well and court them for a while before deciding to tie the knot. Wolpine couples usually produce litters of two to three, and are able to do so every two years. There is a bit of gender inequality among their species, with females typically being the more aggressive and thus the ones in charge.

History: Kenzie was born on Talga, and raised there for most of his life. When he was 23, however, he was captured by a soldier ship and sold to be a warrior for some other race. He had no idea what the war was about, or who the two sides even were. Him and several other soldier were placed on the battlefield with tracking devices on them, and given little choice but to fight for their lives. After each battle, they were collected again.

Many tried to run, but the tracking devices made it impossible to hide. The punishment afterwards made the attempts not worth the effort.

Kenzie was in the middle of trading hands, being transported on a soldier ship to a new war, when his electronic restraints malfunctioned. Kenzie was able to free himself and wreak havoc on his captors. This, however, left him floating in space on a ship that he had no idea how to pilot. He had been on the ship for several days when the Jubilee stumbled across it. He had managed to set up a distress signal to try and get help, and the IGSA ship responded.

The scene inside the ship was pretty gruesome. A starving wolpine among several corpses and broken machinery. Mackenzie was taken on board the Jubilee and put in holding until they could figure out what to do with him. He managed to plea his case and was freed, but he didn't really want to go back to his homeworld and risk the chance of being captured again. So he stayed with the IGSA and began work as a low ranked security officer. Having worked well with Captain Barad's crew, he was re-assigned to them for his first, full mission.

Name: Captain Isam Barad
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Nationality: Iraqi
Rank: Captain

ESP rating: Low

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: Captain Barad has been accused of being stern and slightly cold. This being only his second long distance voyage, he is becoming increasingly irritated with people doubting his abilities. Throughout his schooling, Barad proved himself to be highly intelligent and resourceful. He is not overly emotional, logical, and, most importantly, has a deep running respect for life.

Captain Barad is not one to jump the gun and start a fight, although he will certainly finish it. He avoids trouble when he can, always putting his ship and his crew before himself and his own pride. As with every captain, Barad was trained to not let his humanly desires, those for life, love, and victory, to endanger his mission or ship. Truly dedicated to his duty, the only woman in his life is named the Jubilee.

Appearance: Captain Barad is of Arabic decent, with a medium brown skin tone, brown eyes, and black, curly hair. His hair is shoulder length, often worn in a bun or ponytail while working. He is a bit on the short side, standing at 5'7". He has a muscular build, his physical prowess making up for what he lacks in size. His best fighting aspects are his close range skill and aim, but he prefers to try and use his head first.

History: Born in Iraq on Earth, Isam was raised in a time much different than that of a century ago. After the Altoran invasion, Earth was divided up into seven sections, each represented by a counsel member. Problems would be solved with meetings instead of wars, as was on Altoran. The counsel representative of the middle east was a very progressive woman who had visions of a time when equality and peace would rein supreme in her land.

With much coaxing, her section of the world slowly stepped into a new era. Gone were the days of war and fear, with a new dawn of peace and prosperity among them. Equality among genders and religion was finally realized, something that the world thought it would never see. Education became openly available for those who wished to seek it.

This is were Isam grew up, being taught from childhood that life and respect are the two most valuable aspects of his existence. Never should he take a life without costing himself great anguish, and never should he disrespect another based solely on his own, personal beliefs and preferences. With this thought process, he went to the school of IGSA at the youngest age possible, eighteen, to become a captain.

It was ten long years of school and training, climbing ranks, before he was able to leave Earth on his first long voyage, Captaining the Jubilee across the galaxy and back. Successful, he was given a one year break before being called back to duty

Most of the crew will be human, with a few Altorans among them. By this time in their history, humans and Altorans gets along very well. Although most Altorans returned to their planet after Earth achieved peace, a few preferred to stay. Their offspring have integrated into Earth society, but they are still fairly uncommon. Other alien species can be created with a detailed description.

The modern human:

Humans have evolved slightly over the centuries. Although they appear the same as they have for hundreds of years, they are slightly more intelligent. They are still born with an innate fear of things different from them, although by adulthood, most have learned to overcome it. They despise being held captive, even if their captivity isn't unpleasant. They are strong willed and resourceful. Perhaps their largest evolution is their slowly increasing sensitivity to ESP, or extrasensory perception. Some humans have higher ESP ratings than others, and those ratings are rarely ever used to benefit nor exclude anyone. All this means is that certain members of the human race are more sensitive to things that your other senses cannot pick up, such as magnetic fields, radiation, the influence of telepaths, ect.

Altorans:

Altorans are very different from the humans of their sister planet. To start, their species is sexually amorphic, meaning that, to an outside species, their males and females are virtually impossibly to tell apart. Both genders have skins that varies in shades of blue, an average height of five feet tall, golden eyes with pink irises, horns, and bright colored hair. Neither have distinguishable features that set the two genders apart, however, males and females do exist. The species reproduces via extended physical contact between a male and female with designated parts of the body, usually being the hands. Because of this, Altorans appear to be amusingly prudent. Most find the human urge to casually touch one another while conversing, or any sort of PTA, incredibly inappropriate. As the two societies have mixed over the past century, this has become less prevalent, but still existent.

Another notable feature of the Altoran race is their telepathic capabilities. Born almost blind, they learn to establish telepathic bonds with other, seeing lifeforms to make up for their own lack of sight. On their own planet, these lifeforms are often highly trained pets. But on Earth, where having an animal around at all times isn't always convenient, they have adapted to form these bonds with human friends. Altorans form close bonds with those around them, and those within their trusted friend circle are often used to see the world through their eyes. Humans with higher ESP ratings make these bonds easier. Alone, without a mental link, an Altoran is truly blind.

Aside from using their abilities to see, Altorans can use their telepathy to make up for what they lack in physical strength. Although an inherently peaceful species, they can use their mental capabilities to defend themselves by attacking their enemy's mind. Pain can be artificially placed into their opponents mind, hindering, even killing, them if necessary. Suggestions can be put into another's mind, although mind control is out of the question. And mind reading can be accomplished via contact to the forehead.

Our daring crew, trained by the IGSA Academy, will be undertaking the journey of a lifetime. We will join them one month into their travel, after acquaintances have been made. Their ship is carrying a crew of four hundred and three, all dedicated to their respective duties.

Uniforms for officers and crew are simple and comfortable, with a (in order of appearance) formal dress, business dress, and casual dress. All are color coded for ease as follows:

Captain: Gold with black pants
First officer: Blue with black pants
Lieutenants: Red with black pants
Science officers (include ship surgeon): Green with black pants
Security officers: Copper with black pants
Crewmen: Black with black pants

The Jubilee:

Only 12 ships like her exist. She can fit 500 comfortably, but currently only carries 403. She has deadly phasers mounted on the front underside, although they are for defense purposes only. Her top speed is warp 9, nine times faster than the speed of light. She has transporters than can lock on to a lifeform from 40,000 kilometers away and instantly teleport them onto and off of the ship.

Year 2205, almost one hundred years ago, Earth underwent a massive change. The human were, as per usual, going about their typical wars and feuds, over resources, revenge, dominance, or anything they could think of. Even with their advancements in medicine and technology, peace seemed so far away.

Russia, the new leader in space travel, was about the send off their very first inter-galactic ship to explore other galaxies. This occasion, unbeknownst to mankind, would mark Earth as a new class of planet: one that had the ability to reach, and therefore threaten, other worlds.

There are two types of planet: Civil and savage. Civil planets seek out peace and the end of war. Savage planets openly incite it. Earth, at the time, was considered to be savage. Their closest lifeform planet, Altoran, was tasked with keeping tabs on the humans in case they should ever reach this point in their technology. And sure enough, once humans set foot outside of their solar system, the Altorans invaded.

Known for their telepathic abilities and peaceful dispositions, the Altorans were not looking for a fight. They merely sought to reshape the Earth to prevent an intergalactic war from tearing it apart. They informed the leaders of Earth that if they did not end their warmongering ways, that Earth would be destroyed. Fortunately, they listened.

Over the next 100 years, Earth became a civil planet, and the Intergalactic Space Alliance, or IGSA, was formed. Now, instead of fighting among each other, the humans form voyager ships and seek out other civilizations to form bonds with. We will follow the journey of one of the voyager vessels, the IGSA Jubilee, as she continues on her 5 year mission to explore and form alliances with other planets in the name of Earth.
I've been wanting to do a 1x1 RP based on the anime movie Wolf Children. I'd like it to take place in a more Western setting, but with the same basic ideas: a male wolf shapeshifter falls in love with a female human. I don't have much in the way of plot aside from that, so I'm pretty open for ideas.

I'm looking for someone to play the human female. I'd like someone who can write on a casual to low advanced level with decent grammar and good character development. You MUST be over 18, as I don't like playing with minors. I would prefer someone who can handle mature themes. I'm fine skipping sex scenes if you prefer.

If you're interested, please PM me. If you post here, I likely won't see it.
Maybe. He could hang out in Limbo General Hospital for a while until work stops being such a bitch.
