I'm not sure if I'm still interested.
"I've e-mailed you the paperwork. Just print it and fill it out; we'll pick it up when we get there."

"What is this? Some kind of waver?"

"Yes. In the event of injury or loss of life, it states that you agree to take the risks upon yourself and your family member and therefore can not take legal action against us."

"Loss of life?!"

"In which case you will receive a full refund and our deepest apologies."

There was a long pause on the other side of the phone. Then, "It says here that no cameras or filming will be allowed."

"Yes. It makes my partner uncomfortable."

"Uncomfortable? You're saying that he can kill my daughter and I can't sue, but he can't be made uncomfortable?!"

"That is what the paperwork states, ma'am. And I can guarantee you that my partner is no killer, however if your daughter is possessed by something powerful enough, it may be able to end her life if it so pleases."

Another pregnant pause. "What time will you be here?"

"In about two hours."

The tension inside the home was palpable as the priest and his partner arrived. The family was gathered in the living room, their expressions tired and pale. Exhausted eyes looked up at them as the two entered. Father Walter was dressed for the occasion in his traditional robe and collar. Lucas wore all dark colors: dress pants, a black turtleneck, and a scarf that his face was tucked into. He stayed close to his companion as the Father greeted the family.

They were quickly shown back to the bedroom where the victim was being contained. The family just wanted to get this done with so they could finally begin to pick up the pieces. From what Father Walter had heard, they had tried several other methods: doctors, priests, sage cleanses. Nothing worked.

The young woman was covered in self inflicted scratched and small wounds. She wore a now ratty pajama set with what looked like vomit down the front. Her eyes were cold and inhuman as they watched the priest and scarfed man enter. The look of contempt was not hard to miss. The girl was tied to the bed by her wrists and ankles to keep her from hurting herself any further. Her mother trailed closely behind the two, but Father Walter turned to smile kindly at her, and ask that she remain outside the room.

"It may be a bit hard to watch," He said as gently as he could. The mother was stubborn.

"I want the door open. I want to be here." She settled to remain in the hallway. That would have to do. Lucas was eyeing the young woman uneasily. Whatever had taken her body was powerful enough to defeat anyone else who had tried to exorcise it. It had driven the young woman to give one priest a very nasty bite. Father Walter turned to the girl, who had remained silent as she mean mugged the two of them. He drew a small Bible from his pocket and began to speak a prayer for the girl.

An inhuman snarl left the girl's throat. She drooled down her cheek as she curled her lips back over her teeth. Father Walter remained unphased. When he was done, Lucas slowly approached the girl. Her head whipped around to watch him. She snarled words at him in a different tongue; it didn't sound too friendly. Lucas reached out to touch her cheek, and then the girl began to trash wildly.

The monster inside of her roared, causing the mother in the hallway to gasp and take a step back. The hellish cry carried all the way downstairs. The demon in the girl pulled at the restraints, trying with all its might to survive. Father Walter moved in to grab the girl's shoulders and push her back down. She hissed and lunged at the man, trying to take a chunk of flesh out of him. Lucas moved fast this time, cupping his hands on either side of the girl's face and turning her head back towards him.

The girl's eyes met his, and suddenly she stopped moving. His dark eyes fixated on her's as he loomed over her. The room was silent. The air was tense. Then, the girl went limp.

Lucas fell back away from her, his back hitting against the wall behind him. His breath turned ragged as he clenched his hands to his own head and doubled over. He would jerk every now and then, seeming to battle a silent force for a good five minutes before he, too, went still. Finally, he braced against the wall and slid to the floor, his head drooped.

Father Walter watched the entire thing closely. He waited a moment. "Lucas?"

The dark eyed man looked up at him slowly. The same familiar, black eyes met his. The beast was gone. The priest walked over to the man to help him back to his feet. The mother ran into the room to her daughter and clasped her hands on either side of the girl's face.

"Tracy?" She asked, pleadingly. The girl gave a soft moan.

"Mom?" Her voice was soft and weak, tired from days of battling the demon who had made her body its home. The older woman broke into tears and embraced her daughter, then quickly began undoing the restraints. The rest of the family came up, having heard the commotion die down. There was an air of relief among them. The two exorcists decided that this was their cue to leave. They didn't wait to receive their gratitude.

Father Walter helped Lucas out to the car and into the passenger seat. The skinny young man promptly fell asleep against the door as they began to fight LA traffic back to their home.
I'm gonna be out of town this weekend. I'm posting from my phone now. I'll wait till I'm home to post.

Name: Lucas (No known last name)
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Species: Human?

Occupation: Professional exorcist and cleanser

Personality: He's a bit of a strange little guy. Lucas is very peculiar about who he interacts with and how. He doesn't like crowds, being photographed, cameras, or being asked questions. Any of these things will have him become frustrated and he'll probably storm off in a huff. He can be a bit childish. If irritated, he will quickly resort to lashing out physically to get his point across. Seeing as he can't yell, one might think that this is his alternative.

If one gets on his good side, he's typically a mild, friendly man. Once he decides he trusts someone, he doesn't seem as stand offish anymore.

Appearance: Lucas can easily be described as a bean pole: tall and lanky. He's been told often that he's too thin and needs to gain weight. Lucas has a PEG tube that sticks out of his abdominal wall; it's basically a port straight to his stomach where liquid food and nutrition can be pumped. Due to the all liquid diet, he stays just above underweight.

He's pretty unassuming looking: hidden under oversized clothes with his face tucked into a scarf. He has a head of messy black hair, usually worn short due to his tendency to not take care of it. He has a natural olive tone of his skin, hinting at a possible Italian heritage. His eyes tend to catch people's attention. Some say he has the eyes of a feral animal, dark and a bit wild. Others say they see the eyes of a sad hound dog. Either way, his eyes are dark brown, the color almost indistinguishable from his pupils.

Lucas's most predominant feature by far is his face. He sort of doesn't have one. While his forehead and eyes appear normal, Lucas's face below the bridge of his nose is malformed. His nose appears to be incomplete, like someone cut the fleshy end off of it. And he completely lacks a mouth. His chin is narrow and pointed, his features almost elfish in appearance. If not for the deformities of his face, Lucas might be considered handsome.

Other:

Lucas has a very unique skill set. He has a 'gift'. Lucas can draw energy from surrounding sources, fire, sunlight, heat, electricity, and produce his own light. This light burns monsters that get too close to it, namely demons and vampires. While his light in ineffective towards werewolves, witches, and most other foul creatures, most are unable to touch his skin as if it were made of silver.

His gift of light is accompanied by an ability to defeat demons in a way that even the most experienced of priests have yet to figure out. When he comes into contact with the creatures, he seems to absorb them. If he is performing an exorcism, he draws the demon from the victim and into himself. This usually results in a short inner battle before the demon is completely eradicated. So far, Lucas himself has never been possessed.

weaknesses: Because of his deformity, Lucas is mute.

When tackling more powerful demons, there is a chance that they may escape, weakened, rather than be destroyed. After dealing with demons of high power, Lucas usually has to take time to recover.

Biography:

Where Lucas came from isn't entirely clear. He showed up in LA during a string of violent possessions at the hands of demons. He had been only just a boy, no older than 9, when he proved his worth by banishing demons that even the most experienced priests couldn't. The boy was a gifted exorcist.

It didn't take long for a local priest to take the young boy in. He allowed Lucas to live at the church, very interested by the boy and his mysterious heritage. Even as he has grown, not much is known of how Lucas came to be, or even what exactly he is. It seems to be a touchy subject, and he becomes impatient and irritable if asked about it. He, himself, doesn't even seem to know the entire story.

Lucas has remained at the church, being called on for particularly difficult demon cases. Some people have come to avoid taking his help, as the process in which he removes demons from their victims seems to have a 10% chance of killing the victim. While these deaths seem completely accidental, some the patrons of the church and demonology world have labeled the strange man as a murderer.

Supporting Characters:

Father Walter: The priest that serves as Lucas's main caregiver. He watches over the odd ward and allows him to live at the church for free. Father Walter is in his middle ages, and has been an exorcist for many years now. Priests of his experience level are becoming a rare breed. As the years go by, less and less people believe in possession, and mental illness tends to be blamed for the culprit. He took Lucas in because he saw the boy as a valuable asset, and he didn't want him to fall into the wrong hands.

See No Evil: He is a man around Lucas's age, cleverly named Seymour. He, like Lucas, is deformed. He has no eyes. Seymour also has powers similar to Lucas. He lives in Louisiana and is sort of a penpal to Lucas after having heard about him from an acquaintance. It's still yet to be discovered if there is a third "Hear No Evil".
Great! Do you have any questions about the plot? I'm still kind of throwing ideas around in my head myself.
Note: This is inspired by the movie "Mr. Jones". I will use several themes and set ups from said movie, but many big changes have been made. No knowledge of the movie is necessary.

The first scarecrow was received in 1921. It was gnarled and gruesome, put together with sticks and animal bones in an almost delicate way. It sent shivers down the spine of anyone who saw it. And it came with only a small note signed by Mr. Jones.

Since then, less than a hundred of these scarecrows have been received across the world. They are considered to be rare and very valuable, however, they can not be sold. If taken from the premises of their designated location, they quickly rot and fall apart, and a new one will appear less than a week later. If left be, they appear to last forever. The people who receive them seem to be randomly selected: business owners, private homes, farms, schools, there is no pattern. However, a few who have studied the arcane have managed to pin down a possible purpose.

The world as we know it is separated into several different planes. Some of these planes are less pleasant than other. Some are inhabited by monsters and demons, and creatures who would happily overthrow mankind. The veil between our world and these worlds has always held strong, although it may be weak in certain places. These places are the ones that receive a scarecrow, to ward off those who otherwise come through.

Mr. Jones, whoever he is, has done his job as the veilkeeper for many years. However, about 15 years ago, the veil grew weaker than ever. Suddenly, the scarecrows weren't enough anymore. So what was the elusive artist to do?

Three children appeared. They didn't have names, families, or any recollection of a history. Each one was deformed. One didn't have ears; hear no evil. One didn't have eyes; see no evil. And one didn't have a mouth; speak no evil. These three children appeared in places on planet where the veil needed the most protection, and they were gifted with powers to ward evil away. They were beacons; a warning to anyone who picked a fight with this realm. As they grew, their powers grew stronger. Their purpose was clear to them, but never who they were or where they came from.

Now, as the veil continues to weaken, it has become apparent that Mr. Jones may need help. Small, doll sized scarecrows have been sent out to seemingly random people who resided near the full sized ones. Each one had three addresses written in a note where Mr. Jones's children could be found. The Beacons received letters and dolls as well, with with words "Come find me" scrolled by hand.

The search for Mr. Jones is on. Can he be found before the veil breaks down completely?
@Game Maker

I'm waiting on you, but don't feel rushed to post. I'm kinda in the same boat with my work tbh
@Dynamo Frokane I was pretty careful when I made his powers to try and not make him overpowered, and I really don't think he is considering that his power really only affects a couple types of creatures. I was also careful to exclude any sort of religious ties to his powers, and that was for a reason. So I'm not really willing to make those changes because I'd have to change more than just the powers, but the backstory and what I consider to be essential character traits.

Also, telling people that they can't use photos is really nit picky in my opinion, and I'm not too thrilled with the idea of being in an Rp where the GM is going to nit pick over things as insignificant as whether a reference picture is a photo or not.

So yeah, I'd rather take my character and leave :/
Kolgrin came to a screeching halt when the princess stepped in front of him. He jutted his head off to the side, glaring hard at the man she was with. His hackles were raised, but they quickly fell when he felt a tiny hand brush over his fur. His ears drooped and he gave a couple pitiful whines. The giant wolf turned into little more than a puppy, his tail wagging and his big, wet tongue lolling out of his mouth to lick his mistress happily. He was very happy that she was okay, even if he was still wary of her company.

Once their reunion was over, Kolgrin took the hint and slunk off towards the camp. He held his head low as he approached the fire, taking in the other two faces that were there. When he saw Logan, his head perked up, his ears standing straight. The wolf leaped at the man, clobbering him to the ground to shower him with licks and headbutts. Kolgrin hadn't forgotten Logan, even if they hadn't had a chance to play in quite some time. He could always be rougher with the knight without fear of harming him...to badly at least.
