It didn't used to take so long to recover. When I was younger I was told a kiss would make it all better. These days, by that logic, I'd need to be a porn star.

Might not have internet tonight. Travelling into an area I don't know well. My wifi hub may not have cell towers to use. Should move by the next day though.

Work is a little nuts. Long days, little time off. Going to be a little slow on replies. Bear with me.

I am looking for an MxF (I prefer to play the M) RP. I am looking for someone ELSE to come up with the setting and plot. Below I describe my preferences and requirements. I am used to creating RP’s. I am trying to avoid that. Seems like everytime I try this, someone PM’s me and asks “What do you have in mind”, flatters my detail, and wants to do one of MY ideas. PM me with your ideas.

Rules
Advanced (some casual for conversations). Give me something to respond to.

Daily posting (or as close as we can get) - not interested in constant excuses. Check your subscriptions. Commit a little. I am looking for a writer with good skills, and not expecting to be heavily sidetracked by RL stuff like school. If you don't honestly have the time, do not apply. Also, please don't just reply with "interested". I do realize that daily is probably not possible. Schedules alone will likely get in the way. I work a very odd schedule. Some days I have a ton of time. Often I am lucky to get an hour or two. If a reply gets to me too late, I won’t be able to start on a reply until the next day. Such is life. But weekly posting … I will get bored in a post or two.

I am not a grammar or spelling Nazi. I do, however, prefer third person, past tense as most books are written.

I detest most fandoms. (This is largely because I haven’t had a TV to watch in a decade and a half. I’m a little anachronistic.)
I tend to avoid darker scenarios. Real life has enough of that.
I enjoy romances. Usually they should not be the entire focus of the RP. I do, however, enjoy some that romance is the whole point, such as arranged marriages.
I love sci fi.
I love anachronisms, apocalypses, post apocalypses, colonization. (Not anarchism. )
I prefer to avoid most combat in RP’s.

I do not have time to do ALL these RP’s. One.

Some ideas:
I love anachronisms. Things and people out of their time or place. So things like time travel, cryogenic suspension and the like are a good start.

World building. I don’t mean literally building a planet. And I prefer to focus on one character. But a post apocalypse where the characters are trying to restart civilization is good. Being marooned for various reasons is good. One scenario is on an island where the economy has all but crashed and everyone is struggling. Then new money - a casino - comes in to buy everyone out for a meager sum, but better than nothing. Half the town is fighting to preserve their culture. Half is desperate enough to bail. But the casino wants it all and needs a 100% response.

Life or World changing events. I had a lottery winner RP. Another is the arrival of aliens. One scenario I liked was the Wet Firecracker War in which WWIII was a failure as every nuke failed to actually blow up. The nukes just looks like giant flares. However, the reason was the mystery. Another scenario had a bunch of kids gathered each as the potential heir to a vast fortune. This one was set about 20 years from now if I remember right.

In Spring of 2019 a flight of dragons arrived in the region of the Mojave National Preserve. Most of the world is still oblivious to what happened and exactly where the dragons came from. The military is struggling to put a lid on the matter, but it is rapidly getting out of hand for these dragons are proving to be rather elusive. Worse, what accompanied the dragons seems to be even worse - and quite possibly in pursuit of them - and is blatantly hostile to any attempts to intervene.

The dragons appear to be fledglings ranging in size from pony sized to as large as a stallion. The largest of them is strong enough to snatch a full grown man off the ground - not that they have. If anything the dragons have been avoiding people. They are clearly not the armor plated variety as some of them have been obviously injured. Neither do they seem to breathe fire. However, they can most definitely teleport - a fact that has made their capture impossible so far.

***Note: Though it is not initially known at the start of the RP, the dragons are sapient. I will have specific names and personalities for them.

The hunters are a mix of races, armed with archaic weaponry. War trolls, demons, wyverns, and some other races are present on a small fleet of what resemble pirate vessels able to sail through the air. One might think that this would be much of a threat against modern military airpower. But they have already dispatched a dozen modern fighter jets and attack helicopters with contemptuous ease..

There are two schools of thought regarding the dragons. One: the dragons are an invasive species. They have to be bagged and tagged. Two: they are an endangered species. They must be captured and released into a preserve.

Regarding the Hunters. They are clearly hostile. Parley is to be considered, but not at any risk to civilian lives. And thus far the hunters do not seem interested in talking and have no qualms about killing civilians or taking hostages.

I will be editing this as facts regarding the dragons come to light, including a list of the dragon names and descriptions, as well as their psychology.

Characters

Scientist - a variety of possibilities exist here, but bear in mind how the dragons will be viewed. They haven’t harmed any humans yet. But they are clearly predators. So the government won’t be looking to kill on sight. Instead they will avail themselves of specialists in the appropriate fields.

Military - the dragons arrived by way of an incursion across dimensions. This is, of course, classified. The dragons are beasts, but so far harmless. Assist local officials to contain. If assigned to hunt the Hunters, well they have already proven hostile. The goal is to contain, interrogate, and likely deport. If they resist, lethal force is authorized.

Police - Keep civilians clear. Let the professionals do their job. Serve and Protect.

Civilians - also possible. Keeping longevity of the characters in mind, avoid children. Too hard for them to keep up with dragons. Perhaps teenagers with access to a car?

News Media - This could range from a teenager wanting to get a good Youtube video to some action news star wannabe to just about anything else that fits. Heck, a bird watcher or fantasy author might work.

Going to bump this again. I have one version going, but want a second.

Thompson Farm
(just south of Pueblo of Sandia Village)
That’s about 5 ish miles north of Albuquerque and along the Rio Grande.

It had been three days since Jonna’s assignment in New Orleans had flopped. Well, not a total flop. But her chief editor wasn’t exactly thrilled that she hadn’t gotten so much as a No Comment and almost no picture of the superhero. But she had no problem getting the elderly patients to verify her story. Not the greatest of witnesses. But the injured driver had also spoken up. Her videographer had saved their jobs by supplying the first images of the hero in a dramatic save. Unfortunately the footage was so bad that the chief almost refused to run the story.

Her chief, however, did have a heart and ordered her to take a few days off - in the wake of the near death of her mentor. That gave her reason to visit her father on his farm. Despite objections she had taken it upon herself to pick up some of the supplies for the farm.

Duncan had spent nearly 24 hours assisting rescues. It had killed him being unable to stop the flooding. However, his earlier efforts to drain some of the energy of the tornado had kept the surge from breaking the upgraded levee constructed after the first Katrina. People were calling it a miracle. Noone yet realized it had been their new hero at work. But then noone had been able to see what he was doing out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.

He didn’t get home until the afternoon of the 28th and slept like the dead for the next 12 hours. The 29th was spent maintaining a presence with his company. He was seriously starting to rethink this whole superhero gig. How the hell did they do it in the comics? He had really just spent the better part of 3 days on one disaster. True he had likely prevented damages that would have totaled over a billion USD. But …

docs.google.com/document/d/1MOwkdsGfH…

He needed a break. He hadn’t seen Patches in three days either. He had made a quick stop by the grocery store for apples and brown sugar. He was absolutely horrible about spoiling the horse. Then he stopped by the Feed store to pick up some other knick knacks. It wasn’t much. He lacked a pick up, and so relied heavily on professional horse transport and care. He had the space at home for a horse. But as busy as he stayed, he’d have had to hire someone. And Patches had a bad tendency to bite anyone but him. And now that Patches was healed up enough to ride he needed to be worked.

He had bought his supplies - little more than a small bag that made him look like a small pet owner, as opposed to someone with a horse. He spotted a blonde woman struggling to lift a sack of feed onto the tailgate of an aging pickup. It was the first of ten 50 pound sacks.

He nodded pleasantly, his eyes crinkled with humor behind his Ray Ban sunglasses. “Ma’am? Care for a little help?” He reached down and picked up a bag with one hand and curled it. ‘Tell you what. You stay up there and arrange it. I’ll toss it up to you. Catch?” He was clearly joking about actually tossing the sacks. But he lifted all ten in as rapid a succession as Jonna could manage and hardly broke a sweat. He didn’t quite stop there. He tossed up the rest, even though she could have handled that herself. It did make the job go faster though.

He barely stuck around for a thanks - even though he recognized the woman instantly. He hated to admit it, but he felt just a little paranoid. He had parked his car on the side of the feed store - out of sight and away from the loading areas. After all, he’d only come in for a couple items. By the time he backed out of his spot and took off, Jonna Thompson was already gone.

It wasn’t long before he caught up though. She was heading north in I 25, got off at x234 hwy 556 and made a left. It was a farming area. But he didn’t want to make her paranoid, so he backed it off a little so it would look like he was tailing her. Duncan knew a little about this subject from Gary. Problem was, Jonna seemed to be heading same place he was. Yep, she made a right into 313 north. And as luck would have it she turned into the very farm he was headed to.

Crap.

He made the last right turn into the farm and followed her on in. She was going to think he was a creep or stalker if she didn’t recognize who he was….
Sounds good. PM'd some ideas for an initial encounter. I could write something up if you want.

Oh ... couple detail to add to CS. Where does she work?

Duncan is based in Albuquerque, NM. Not super news area, but it is central to all the places he has been. And he has made the news before on several occasions in his mundane ID. He nearly broke records in high school football as a kicker. And he killed 6 guys when he was 15 - self defense when a gang broke into his home. He wasn't mentioned back then though, but his mother was as she was also killed by the gang. And he started Bears for Courage when he was 15 - right after his mother died. (He enlisted the aid of the USMC's Toy's For Tots organization to have wounded vets donate bears to terminally ill kids.) It would be easy enough to look all this up in computers. And as he had 2 PhD's by age 15, he is no underachiever. He'd be a resource to question - if you can get ahold of him.

Just remember, he's no inexperienced amateur when it comes to the Press.
