@VerifyinTr1gIDs I'd love to have Reverse Flash and Grodd in my rp
Here's another
Picture
Well the upcoming Suicide Squad Joker will show up at some point in the roleplay but since the Joker has so many alternative versions and names I figure there can be all kinds of other people who have the same clown motif but aren't the same person. Just look at how different Joker is in pretty much every media version. Not to mention AU characters like the Jester, Red Hood, or Jerome in Gotham.
@VerifyinTr1gIDs Well the Joker already exists but you could always make a similar character. Right now we have Bane in progress and Deadshot is a gun-slinger so some kind of support character or metahuman would be good.
I need someone to inject life into the roleplay though.
Affiliation: Deadshot was a prominent member of the Secret Six for a time before going out on his own as a freelancer, contracting for many organizations such as Luthor's Secret Society at one point before being captured by Batman and surrendered to the authorities. Deadshot has been a member of the Suicide Squad since then.
Occupation: Deadshot was an assassin, a marksman for hire and one of the best in the business. He often boasted that he "never missed" his targets.
Race: Human
Appearance:
Powers: Deadshot has no powers though his reflexes, precision, and senses border on superhuman.
Skills: Deadshot is a master marksman, one of the best sharpshooters alive if not the best. With a sniper rifle he can eliminate his target from well over a mile away. In fact he holds the world record for longest recorded kill with a sniper rifle at 1.75 miles. His accuracy is so uncanny that he can often perform seemingly impossible trick shots by ricocheting his rounds off of surfaces to hit the target. Lawton was trained in the military and is a reconnaissance expert and skilled hand-to-hand combatant. Lawton is perfectly capable of lying in wait all day and night to make a shot. He is a competent tactician and has skill with leadership.
Equipment: Deadshot's primary weapon for this mission is a custom assault rifle. The rifle has been ergonomically constructed for his use. It has a flash suppressor, forward grip, folding stock, and quick-switch magazines. Deadshot carries armor piercing rounds and other special ammunition for certain situations. Lawton carries a Colt 45 that is similarly personalized to him and features an extended barrel and magazine.
His iconic white mask is armored and will stop a rifle round or explosive shrapnel. The eyepiece allows him to track his targets with virtual interface and can see in multiple spectrum. The sight is linked directly to his wrist mounted cannons which fire nine millimeter rounds. His armor will protect him from blunt trauma, shrapnel, and a burst of assault rifle fire.
Weaknesses: Despite being a skilled hand to hand fighter this is nowhere near his specialty and unless he has a firearm in hand he is likely to be overpowered by a true master. Deadshot's armor is designed to be light and comfortable, able to allow great range of motion. It will not stop sustained assault rifle fire.
Psychological Profile: Floyd Lawton is a consummate professional. He will kill any man or woman that he is being paid to kill, his professional standards require minimal to no collateral damage and his one scruple is that he will not take contracts out on minors. As long as the contract is active he will pursue his target to the end of the earth but will give up the chase immediately if he is no longer paid for his services. Though he sees killing civilians as unprofessional he has no compunctions for active combatants, he will deal with armed personnel quickly and efficiently.
Lawton has a wife and daughter that he cares for above his own life and will do anything he can do to protect, though he knows he can never truly be a father. Lawton's older brother was killed when he was very young and he has a way of creating surrogate brothers for himself such as Rick Flagg. Despite his professional standards and devotion to his family he has little regard for his own life. He will defend himself to the utmost but is perfectly willing to place himself in danger and risk grievous injury or worse in order to get the job done, this makes him unpredictable and dangerous. Lawton often displays a casual disregard for authority and a sardonic, nihilistic viewpoint.
Biography: Floyd Lawton was born in Gotham City, the youngest of two children to a low-income couple in a rough neighborhood. Lawton's mother was responsible and hard-working but Lawton's father was an alcoholic and extremely abusive especially towards Lawton's older brother Daniel. Lawton's father was a former soldier who served in Vietnam and suffered massive psychological trauma because of what he had seen and done in the war. He often beat both boys and their mother until one day Lawton had enough. When he was sixteen he took his father's service rifle and tried to kill him. At the time his brother Daniel and their father were having a fight, their father moved to strike him. Lawton killed his father and in the crossfire, killed Daniel as well. Distraught, the young Lawton ran away from home and never returned.
He used certain connections in his neighborhood to falsify records and join the Marines. He excelled in boot camp and was immediately groomed to become a Force Recon sniper. He was one of the most promising sharpshooters they had seen in a long while, the death of his brother motivating Lawton to never be so careless and to always be precise with his aim. He soon became the top marksman in the entire armed forces and was involved in many dangerous assignments and operations, always taking out his target in the most efficient manner possible. He became highly decorated. When he was 25, he met a civilian when he was on leave named Delilah. They grew close together quickly and Lawton married her. He soon left the armed forces and his young wife became pregnant. Floyd had no other skills besides combat but didn't want to leave his family. He soon acquired special gear on the black market and became a contract hitman.
Deadshot was used by every major criminal organization in Gotham and beyond, and is responsible for dozens of assassinations in his first few years of operation. He brought money home to provide for his family, his wife Delilah and his young son Daniel and infant daughter Zoe. Until one day a murderous kidnapper named Will Anselm killed his young son. Lawton became enraged with grief and killed Anselm. He became withdrawn from his wife and after some time, and spent less and less time at home. Lawton became a top assassin, hired for jobs all around the globe. His kill count soon reached the hundreds and he provided well for his family, doting upon his daughter whenever he returned home. Until one day while attempting to assassinate a Senator, he was foiled and captured by Batman. Deadshot spent time in Belle Reve until he was recruited to join the Suicide Squad. He was released from prison after several missions but was offered enormous compensation and protection for his family if he stayed on. Deadshot has been an integral member of the Squad since its inception.
Special Notes: Lawton is nonreligious but occasionally quotes the bible. Lawton is also a self-professed socialist.
Name: Mercedes Graves
Codename: Mercy
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown, the subject can be anywhere from her early twenties to mid forties.
Source: The upcoming Batman v Superman Film.
Birthplace: Unknown, the subject has no official birth records in any country, is fluent in several languages, and speaks in a Metropolis accent that may or may not be manufactured.
Affiliation: Graves has no official ties to any organizations, government or private, besides her employment at Lexcorp shortly after Alexander Luthor Jr. took control of the company. She is acting as a field support for Task Force X and a liaison between Lexcorp and Checkmate.
Occupation: Graves appears to perform a number of functions. She regularly acts as Luthor's executive assistant and valet but also serves in a bodyguard fashion, and is speculated to be Luthor's personal trouble shooter.
Race: The subject appears human, but displays abilities beyond normal humans.
Appearance:
Powers: Mercy displays strength, speed, agility, durability, endurance, and senses far above a baseline human. She has demonstrated Olympic level ability in all of these areas, but the upper limit of her abilities is simply not known. Whether she is genetically altered, cybernetically upgraded, some form of mythic being, a metahuman, or some kind of natural wunderkind has not been established and Luthor refuses to provide any details or allow any tests.
Skills: Mercy is an intelligent woman and demonstrates an adept talent at organization and logistics in a corporate and military setting, and is able to efficiently multi-task. Mercy is a noted tactical driver, with proficiency in several land-based vehicles and is a fair pistol marksman though she is not on a master's level. Her true specialty is hand-to-hand combat, she displays skill in several forms and techniques and is an expert with knives. Her skill may not be quite on part with a master's but her pure physicality makes up for any lack in form.
Equipment: Mercy Graves often wears a skintight jumpsuit with tactical harness in combat. Mercy has very little in the way of combat gear preferring to pack mostly survival equipment and ammunition for her personalized Desert Eagle firing .357 rounds. Mercy also carries a carbon steel tactical knife.
Weaknesses: Mercy avoids gunfire and blades just as anyone else does, it seems her enhanced durability is limited to blunt force. Mercy is more resistant to pain but is it speculated that her enhanced senses make extreme sensation and extreme pain that much more debilitating to her. Besides this she has no special vulnerabilities or weaknesses.
Psychological Profile: There has been no opportunity to conduct interviews with the subject or those close to her and we have no records to draw on. From observation by members of the Task Force and her occasional appearances in public we see a perfectly controlled person. The subject always dresses neatly and very rarely if ever abandons a formal mode of address. Mercy demonstrates tremendous calm under pressure and a determination to get the mission completed at all costs. Her defining characteristic is her almost fanatical devotion to Lex Luthor. Mercy is not a sadist or particularly empathetic, feelings rarely enter into her work. When they do she is surprisingly capable of truly acidic snark.
Biography: It is highly suspected that Lex Luthor used his considerable connections and wealth to simply erase all traces of Mercedes Graves from public record. She has several assumed identities from various nations when she must operate covertly but none are her real identity. No Lexcorp employee or Task Force member has ever gleaned into her personal life or background, the only one who knows anything about her is Lex Luthor and he is unwilling to share anything. She simply appeared at his side shortly after Lex Luthor's father died and he assumed leadership of the corporation.
She was his left hand during the Bizarro affair and helped Lex Luthor remain publicly blame less for the events in Gotham. After the dawn of the super-powered age, Mercy has acted as Lex's left and right hand in all his major projects and operations and has assisted Checkmate several times. Mercy is part of the advance team in the desert between Kahndaq and Bialya, performing recon on the ground and creating a safe operational area. No doubt she is advancing Lex Luthor's interests in the area as well.
Name: Bette Sans Souci
Codename: Plastique
Gender: Female
Age: 29
Source: A mix of Justice League Unlimited and the Flash tv show. Plastique has all the snark, sensuality, and explosive expertise of the animated version with the more heroic leanings, military background, and metahuman abilities of the live action show.
Birthplace: Central City, USA
Affiliation: Plastique is an active operative of the US government and a White Knight in Checkmate, a senior field operative and team leader with high security clearance.
Occupation: Plastique was an EOD Specialist in the Army before she turned meta. She was eventually promoted and made a special agent. Agent Bette serves as one of our eyes and ears on the ground.
Race: The subject appears human, but displays abilities beyond normal humans.
Appearance:
Powers: Plastique has the metahuman ability to cause an explosive blast when she touches any solid object. Her power can range anywhere from a firecracker level explosion to a blast akin to a missile. Any skin contact will be viable for the detonation and she cannot be damaged by the force of her own attack. She has slightly enhanced durability as well to cope with pressure and vibration caused by explosions.
Skills: Plastique was an accomplished EOD tech in her service to the military, she is capable of spotting and disabling most explosive devices quickly and efficiently. She was just as skilled with making explosive devices. Plastique is a master bomb-maker and can improvise explosive weapons from virtually any common household item. She is able to quickly calculate the ingredients necessary for a device as well as the effects of any potential detonation. While her metahuman ability may be useful, Plastique is just as comfortable using mundane tools to get the job done. In addition to her explosive expertise, Plastique is a trained soldier and is proficient with firearms and is comfortable leading teams.
Equipment: Operative Plastique was given the standard White Knight armor, a form fitting shear fluid jumpsuit that will thicken to protect against fast moving debris and small arms fire, reinforced by advanced ceramic plating. Her tactical vest and belt comes with standard survival equipment and she possesses a commlink with twenty-four hour real time access to the Checkmate network. She carries several explosive devices ranging from claymores, C4, mines, and grenades of various types as well as her own specialized explosive discuses. Her cut-down short-barreled, pump-action shotgun comes with incendiary and explosive rounds. For extreme situations she also carries an XM25 grenade launcher. Her gloves are fingerless and allow her metahuman powers to activate. She carries a G18 automatic pistol as a holdout.
Weaknesses: Plastique may be almost immune to explosive force or vibration but is just as vulnerable to extreme heat or debris as anyone else. She requires her armor for protection from high-level explosives and anything else that can kill a normal person can kill her. Her powers also require direct contact with her skin to activate, they cannot be activated through clothes. The larger an explosion she causes the more it will drain her. If she fires a full-force blast it will severely exhaust her and such an attack can only be used every few hours. In most situations she gets by with low to mid-level directed blasts.
Psychological Profile: Plastique is an honorable individual, never failing to stride the high road despite all of her dangerous missions. She prefers to get things done right, not fast and refuses to endanger civilians. Bette Sans Souci will go to any lengths possible to save lives and displays an iron will and calm under fire. Plastique is usually obedient to her superiors but will find ways to circumvent orders she thinks are contrary to her personal code. She may not be blindly obedient to Checkmate but she is a devoted patriot and will give her life to defend her country.
Despite this, Plastique is not without her flaws. She is never truly happy unless she is in a dangerous situation and is often seen as an adrenaline junkie, willing to take extreme personal risks to complete her mission. Plastique may be a good operator but often displays a casual and humorous attitude even in tense situations, always ready with a snarky remark or comeback. She knows she is a beautiful woman and takes full advantage of it with a natural sensuality. She has never been married and is an on and off-again relationship with the Justice League member known as Captain Atom. Plastique has refused to divulge any details to Checkmate and Waller has decided to not press the issue.
Biography: Bette Sans Souci joined the military right out of high school, quickly rising through the ranks due to her technical proficiency and rapidly gaining the position of an EOD tech. She is responsible for dozens of successfully deactivated devices throughout her career and has only failed to deactivate a device twice, with neither incidents resulting in casualties. She is responsible for many civilian and military lives being saved and became highly decorated for her efforts. Bette Sans Souci was soon recruited by special operations teams and underwent several high-risk missions, turning her talents to help cause explosions and not avoid them. She has crossed paths with several prominent operators including Floyd Lawton and the two struck up a quick friendship. After a mission requiring air support she met Captain Nathaniel Adam. The two soon began dating and were quite happy together.
Their situation changed with the Black Zero event. Captain Adam was one of the pilots in Metropolis and was directly exposed to the energies radiating from the Phantom Zone. After several months he spontaneously developed powerful metahuman abilities and changed into an energy being. Captain Atom soon left the military and joined the Justice League much to Plastique's chagrin. She disagreed with his decision to serve a private entity that could potentially threaten the security of the United States. Her own metahuman powers soon developed and she volunteered to join Checkmate. The couple had been engaged to marry but broke off the engagement, leaving the Captain to the Justice League and Plastique to the government.
The two occasionally rekindle their romance but have not seriously reconciled, keeping their trysts as secretive as possible. The operative has undergone several Task Force missions and has achieved every objective so far with minimal collateral damage and team casualties. When the situation in the Middle East developed, White Knight Plastique was a natural asset to deploy. Plastique has operated in the Middle East before and unlike Deadshot was not a career criminal. She was paired up with her former comrade and the two retained their friendship despite their differences. Plastique is the Checkmate observer while Deadshot serves as squad leader. She has been entrusted with the responsibility of the team's nanite explosives but should she become incapacitated the duty falls to Waller who can override Plastique's authority and remotely detonate the explosives as well.
Name: Hudson Pyle
Codename: Cavalier
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Source: An amalgamation of Prince Charming from the Fables series and the Cavalier from the comics. He has all the wit, charm, arrogance, skill, looks, and promiscuity of the Fables character with the grounded background and mundane human nature of the main universe character.
Birthplace: Upstate New York
Affiliation: Pyle was a self-styled vigilante but had no affiliations with the Justice League or any other organization before he was recruited by the Suicide Squad.
Occupation: Pyle was a major Hollywood actor who performed his own stunts as well as a talented athlete before he became a vigilante.
Race: Human
Appearance:
Skills: Hudson Pyle is an expert swordsman, one of the best natural sword fighters in the world. He was skilled enough to once best Batman in melee combat and is an olympic level athlete. His reflexes, perception, endurance, speed, dexterity, and agility are as high as a regular human can achieve. Pyle is a master with any kind of bladed weapon and is skilled in melee combat with other weapons and unarmed combat as well. Pyle can expertly dual wield long swords and throw daggers with astonishing accuracy. If faced against five skilled sword fighters the Cavalier can fend off all of them at the same time. Pyle is also a noted confidence man, pistol marksman, and horseback rider.
Equipment: Pyle has little equipment besides the standard survival gear provided to him for this mission. He carries a single M9 for long-range combat and a variety of knives and daggers. His main arsenal are his two Nth metal long-swords, provided for him by Checkmate and custom-forged to him. They are extremely sharp and durable, able to cut through almost anything and are extremely unlikely to break. His blades are also useful against magical beings or defenses. Cavalier wears a tailored leather long-coat that has been made with special synthetic fabrics to protect him from blunt force, blades, and small arms.
Weaknesses: The Cavalier is just a normal man and is as vulnerable as any. His weaponry leaves him specifically suited to short-ranged combat and he has limited utility in long-range firefights. His Nth metal blades can affect magical items but can also be affected by them. They can be destroyed with a strong concentrated spell.
Psychological Profile: Hudson Pyle is a womanizing, attention-seeking, hedonistic braggart with a minor heroic streak. He does not do what he does purely out of an altruistic spirit but rather a drive to do daring things and gain adoration for his deeds. Hudson comes from a privileged upbringing and is accustomed to luxury and comfort, though he is a maverick among the upper class. He rarely speaks directly, almost never takes things seriously, and is always ready with a boast, quip, or amorous one-liner. Despite his numerous character flaws he does not harm innocents or cause collateral damage and is entirely without sadism or extreme emotional instability. The death of the only person he ever loved has caused Hudson to withdraw emotionally while he goes through the motions of a sensual dashing rogue.
Biography: Hudson Pyle was one of the East Coast elite, born to an old money family in Upstate New York. He never wanted for anything and was provided for by his considerable family fortune. Hudson had several siblings and relatives but never grew particularly close to any of them. His parents had never taken too much of an interest in him and were always away on business or trips. His own relatives were busy with inter-family politics and petty games. Hudson's only real friends were the children of the mansion staff. He received the best education and was an accomplished athlete all throughout his school years. Hudson had been a child prodigy with fencing classes and horseback riding. He had been expected to attend an Ivy League school and work for his father in corporate banking. However Hudson was a dreamer and had always imagined himself having a life of adventure and action, he looked to stories of knights in shining armor and hollywood films for inspiration. Eventually he settled on becoming a star.
He defied his parents and attended a school of performing arts, honing a natural talent for acting and drama. Hudson soon appeared in several tv shows and plays, including a star-making role on the Phantom of the Opera. He broke into mainstream stardom with the titular role of a blockbuster Hamlet film and followed it with a successful film series on the story of King Arthur where he played Lancelot. Hudson became a household name and won numerous accolades for his body of work, raking in the profits from his endorsements, appearances, and acting roles. His sexual exploits with both men and women gained him infamy in the world of performance and his drunken escapades made the news as much as his movies did.
Hudson reveled in the fame, but that all changed with the arrival of Superman and the dawn of the Superhero. Suddenly costumed heroes and villains were the real celebrities, their action-packed exploits soon overshadowing even Hudson's fame. Most would have been satisfied with their stardom but not Hudson. He wanted the same adulation that heroes like the Flash or Green Lantern received. Hudson put his athletic talents and fortunes to work and became the Cavalier. He became a dashing rogue and took Gotham city by storm, becoming hugely popular with his charismatic presence and crowd-pleasing sword skill. However that all changed when he fell in love with a rich young woman who happened to be the daughter to a crime lord. Their relationship was discovered and a rival don had the girl killed. Hudson went on a rampage and killed several bosses and their top agents in cold blood, including the girl's father. Cavalier then had a one and one fight with Batman and actually managed to escape but was later captured by the authorities. Cavalier was quickly recruited into Task Force X and has taken part in several Suicide missions.
I've added a sheet for Deadshot who I will directly control unless someone wants to take the reins at some point. I will add in more sheets later for Mercy Graves and other characters as well as a list of potential antagonists and allies.
To anyone who peeks in on this roleplay, sign-ups are always open.
It has been five years since Batman and Superman settled their differences in a fight against Bizarro, Lex Luthor's secret weapon. Three years since ordinary men and women began exhibiting metahuman powers in the fallout of the Black Zero event, three years since magic has returned to the world, and three years since the formation of the Justice League with official support by the United Nations. Their League has grown to include dozens of members. Supervillains of every stripe have become one of the largest threats to public safety from the insane Joker to the militant Kobra Cult or the powerful Intergang. And thousands of so called superhumans now roam the Earth. Some have magic abilities, others are genetically or cybernetically enhanced, most have metahuman powers, some have extraterrestrial origins, and a few are simply exceptionally skilled men and women.
The Justice League has been the main line of defense against supervillains whether they be contract killers, psychopathic murderers, organized criminals, fanatical terrorists, or thrill-seeking anarchists. The Justice League has even had to defend the Earth from supernatural monsters, the renegade Ocean Master, and an invasion by the alien Brainiac. Dozens of dangerous supervillains and vigilantes, those with powers and without, were imprisoned in a specially designed secret federal facility in Louisiana called Belle Reve Penitentiary. Many infamous names now reside in the prison. Names such as Black Manta, Deathstroke, Parasite, the Reverse-Flash, and many many more.
But even though the Justice League has the adoration of the public, the United States government does not trust the powerful group. They formed an agency named Checkmate, meant to protect civilization from superhuman activity whether they were heroes, villains, or anything in between. To this end Checkmate created an operations group including trusted government agents and sympathetic superhumans to undergo missions for the security of the United States. However they had few superhumans willing to volunteer and turned to other sources for more manpower. Thus Task Force X came into existence, a black ops group made of patriots and criminals who have very little choice.
The conscript members of Task Force X are given a simple bargain. Perform critical, secret, and highly dangerous operations for the United States in exchange for reduced sentences. The probability of death or injury is very high, whether by enemy action or the nanite-explosives in their necks. The risk is grave but for these desperate souls, it is better than the alternative. Though government agents may call it Task Force X, the conscripts know it by a different name,
Suicide Squad
2015: Batman and Superman had their historic fight in an abandoned section of Gotham, ending in a draw. The two settled their differences and teamed up with Wonder Woman to defeat Bizarro, the genetically twisted creature created by Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor suffered no public reprisal but became Superman's greatest foe. Wonder Woman's presence and actions publicly confirmed the existence of magic and the supernatural world.
2016: Metahuman abilities became publicly apparent when a hero calling himself the Flash stopped a bank robbery, two murders, attempted arson, and several muggings in under a minute. Several metahumans, both heroic and villanious, appeared afterwards. Scientists speculate that the Black Zero Event is the cause, the opening of the Phantom Zone exposed humans to energies that we know little about. These energies affected thousands of humans in the form of metahuman powers. Scientists state that they expect metahumans to keep randomly manifesting for the rest of Humanity's history as a species.
2017: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman recruited the Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Aquaman to combat the alien artificial intelligence known as Braniac. This second invasion prompted massive investment by governments in advanced weapons technology, cybernetics, and genetic enhancement as well as research into space-faring vehicles. The seven heroes formed the Justice League with official UN Sanction to defend the Earth from further alien invasions, natural disasters, terror groups, supernatural threats, international crime syndicates, and of course supervillains. Organizations such as the League of Shadows, the Court of Owls, the Kobra Cult, Intergang, and more have become a massive threat to public safety. Superhumans such as Black Adam and Queen Bee have gained massive power by conquering Kahndaq and Bialya while others such as the Outsider have formed massive criminal empires.
2018: Despite the increasing presence of supervillains, the Justice League has kept the world mostly at peace. The League has succesfully defended the population from several supernatural and supervillain threats, along with a full-blown invasion by renegade Atlantean leader Ocean Master. Most major cities create a Special Crimes Unit, SCU, in order to coordinate with the Justice League and combat masked crime. The Justice League expands their roster several times over with various metahuman, supernatural, alien, and transhuman heroes along with exceptional mundane humans. With their large numbers the League has averted multiple disasters and crises, and mundane crime has dropped sharply.
Lexcorp has begun arming the government with advanced technology and transhuman operatives. Lex Luthor then secretly formed a Secret Society of hundreds of supervillains to counter the Justice League. Those who are not so trusting of the Justice League have called for government restriction and sanction of super-humans and the Justice League in particular. Many vigilantes outside of the League have appeared. These vigilantes operate outside the law, with no official sanction unlike the League, and are often more brutal in their methods.
2019: The Justice League has become a major organization. The organization recruits more and more skilled citizens around the world in a variety of fields. Embassies from the League have been built in every major nation. The League publicly announced the completion of the Watchtower Station, a low-orbit space platform with advanced scanning and communication capabilities along with teleportation technology and advanced shuttles. The super-hero organization numbers in the hundreds and operates in every corner of the globe.
Along with regular crisis response duties, the League has begun funding humanitarian programs around the world. Wayne Enterprises, Queen Industries, Kord Enterprises, S.T.A.R Labs, and Ferris Aircraft all declared their partnership with the League in their humanitarian endeavors and scientific research. Entertainment companies such as Blaze Comics have begun creating various Justice League media and products resulting in enormous wealth for the group.
Known vigilantes such as the Huntress, Batwoman, Red Hood, and others are declared public threats and are sought by police just like supervillains. Tension has developed between the police and the Justice League for its refusal to aid authorities in capturing these vigilantes. Several superhumans have volunteered for Cadmus, fearing the Justice League's monopoly on superpowers and Cadmus has begun training Special Forces operators to specifically combat super-humans.
2020: The Justice League has effectively become a micronation. The League has announced plans to build a Lunar Colony and begin asteroid mining operations. Enrollment for the Lunar Colony reached such a point that the Justice League then announced eventual Mars, Titan, and Europa colonies. Polls in countries around the world show that the Justice League is more popular and trusted than virtually any government body. This has frightened many civilian governments, the United States in particular.
In the Middle East tensions flare between the nation of Kahndaq, ruled by the despot Black Adam and Bialya. Bialya is ruled by the metahuman Queen Bee who is also the leader of the terrorist group HIVE. Queen Bee recently conquered Qurac, which bordered both nations, and ousted the super-powered Onslaught criminal syndicate. Thinking Queen Bee means to invade, and not wanting to attract the attention of the Justice League, Black Adam contracts Onslaught to begin terrorist attacks in Bialya. Queen Bee has sent HIVE to do the same. The death count is in the low thousands and both rogue nations are on the brink of war, with HIVE and Onslaught having several destructive skirmishes in both countries.
The Outsider, who has massive control over the Middle East, is selling weapons to both sides and gaining even more influence. Rumors state that the League of Shadows is somehow involved in the developing crisis. The Justice League approached the UN with permission to intervene diplomatically, their request was granted. Black Adam and Queen Bee were approached to attend a peace summit in Dubai, both leaders accepted and the League is acting as a mediator between the two despots.
The US fears this will set the precedent for the Justice League intervening in geopolitical conflicts and becoming a real world power. They decided that the Justice League would not be allowed to be seen brokering this peace. Government leaders know that the American public would not be receptive to another military intervention by the armed forces and turned to Checkmate. Checkmate leader Amanda Waller has tasked the Suicide Squad, made up of government operatives and conscripts from Belle Reve, where the government stores the many captured masked criminals and outlaw vigilantes.
Operation Peacemaker: You will be covertly inserted at night-time in the Quraci desert on the border of Bialya and Kahndaq. Avoiding detection by government forces on either side, you will make contact with our ally on the ground. They will provide a safehouse and additional supplies for you to operate with. It is paramount that at no point your presence is discovered, you must remain hidden by any means necessary. The rules of engagement are simple, if it represents a threat to your mission you are authorized to neutralize it. You will make your way to the capital city in Kahndaq.
If any Onslaught or HIVE agents are encountered, we would like them to be captured. But if they must be eliminated then so be it. Your objective once you reach the capital is simple. Infiltrate the Presidential Palace under cover of darkness and kidnap Adrianna Tomaz, Teth-Adam's wife and the superhuman known as Isis. For the purposes of this mission she will be referred to as Isis. She cannot be allowed to transform into her supernatural form, as she will be able to defeat all of you.
You will face Onslaught superhumans in the Palace and there may be HIVE infiltrators. All threats must be dealt with and no alarms can be raised as they will alert Black Adam and jeopardize the mission. If you want an easier time of it, you must keep Shade alive. He can cover your activity and allow more... overt tactics to bee used. You will use our magical operative Tala to neutralize Isis before she can transform. Isis and any prisoners you have will be handed off to the extraction team.
At this point you will make your way across the disputed lands and assassinate Queen Bee's lead general and lover, Rumaan Harjavti who will refer to as King Bee. King Bee will be in the middle of a Bialyan army camp and there will be heavy enemy activity including HIVE agents. King Bee himself however is just a normal man. After King Bee is eliminated you will then kidnap his and Queen Bee's son, Sumaan. You will be extracted along with Prince Bee and your mission will be over.
If you deviate from any of the mission parameters or the orders of our on-site operators you will be eliminated. You will face high threat of injury, capture, or death. If you are captured we will detonate the explosives in your necks. If you make it home alive with your mission complete we will move you to better accommodations and reduce your sentence. Failure will land you right back in Belle Reve and onto the next mission. Good luck, you will need it."
-Amanda Waller
This roleplay is set in the future of the ongoing DCEU. You will play as a member of the Suicide Squad. They can be a government agent or sympathizer like Rick Flagg or a villainous or vigilante conscript like Deadshot or the Huntress. Not all of the characters are villains but there are no straight laced, government-recognized heroes like Superman or Batman, the best you can be is an antihero.
There will be a lot of mature content, mostly swearing and violence, and your PCs can die a number of horrible deaths if they make too many mistakes. The good thing is that you can play as many PCs as you can handle, but they have to be on the villain-antihero scale and they must have some grounding in the various DC related media but with a "modern" DCEU re-imagining. You can also use any of the confirmed Suicide Squad members in the upcoming movie.
This is a large group, and sign-ups are always open. The focus will be on character interactions, espionage, and action. This roleplay is meant to be fun, so let's make a wild, crazy joyride of violence and snark together. Let's start a Joke.
-All standard forum rules apply
-No god-modding or severely overpowered PCs
-No one-liners and I expect understandable grammar
-I want at least one to two posts a week, if you can't continue for some reason or wish to shelve your character for later please contact me directly

You literally can make infinite characters and they can die at any time if you make too many mistakes. Death is only in very extreme situations however or if you just get tired of your PC and make them jump on a grenade or something. Besides death there is a huge threat of generally painful and perhaps even crippling injury.
If you are inactive for more than two weeks, and do not inform me that you want to withdraw or go on hiatus, I reserve the right to do whatever I want with them. Post your sheets in the OOC tab but place accepted characters in the character tab.
If an active player's PC is killed, the PC's "mantle" is reserved by the active player if they wish to do a Legacy Character for the dead PC. If another player wants to do a Legacy character they must obtain permission by whatever player currently holds the mantle at the time.
Name: You can use an existing DC character name or make up your own name for the same "mantle" as it were. Like Terry McGinnis for Batman as opposed to Bruce Wayne, just as an example.
Codename: You can use any existing codename from any character in any DC affiliated media that would fit in this roleplay. If the character you chose didn't have one, make one up. This is a comic book rp, we're big on codenames.
Gender: Male or female. Just like how Copperhead is a female in Arkham origins when the character is usually male, you can gender-flip the character you chose. If you chose any of the confirmed members of the Suicide Squad in the upcoming movie you can't do this however. I would also like a reasonable ratio of male and females. I don't want the Squad to be a complete sausage fest.
Age: Suicide Squad is not a nice group, there are willing to use people as young as fourteen. Your character can be anywhere in the 14-60ish range but definitely not any younger or in their seventies. I'd like a nice range of ages but keep in mind that characters that are 60ish have a lower chance of making it out alive. You can age up or age down when you reimagine characters.
Source: Put down the original character that inspired your version and what media they came from, just for fun. They can of course be a mix of different versions.
Birthplace: Where was this version of the character born? You can use any fictional DC location or real location as long as it fits the character. No making up your own entire city however.
Affiliation: Any and all organizations that your character is a part of or belongs to. You can use any fictional or real group that fits in this universe but you can't create your own criminal syndicate, corporation, or vigilante team out of thin air. If your character is a lone operative, put that here too.
Occupation: What was your doing before they joined the Squad? Did they work for the government? Were they a professional thief? A vigilante? An insane murderer? Whatever it was they definitely weren't in the Justice League.
Race: If your character is anything other than human put that here. You can use any mythical sentient creature from mythology or folklore or any of the established sentient races like the Atlanteans or Amazons, even aliens. Keep in mind that Braniac and Zod have been the only aliens to invade Earth openly. If you play an alien from any of the various DC races there has to be a good explanation for their presence. Most of the characters should be human.
Appearance: You can use any picture from any fanart or official source of any DC related media or use a description if you want to make a totally new appearance. You may use both a picture and description. Generally, I'd like an ethnically diverse group. Not an all Caucasian super-model group. Like most things it's generally okay if you want to change a white character to a different race, but I tend to frown on it if you turn a minority character white, unless your version of the character is based off of a version in the media where that happens to be the case.
Powers: State if your character is Metahuman, Transhuman, Mythic, Extraterrestrial, or Mundane. Metahumans make up the majority of superhumans, they all got their powers after the Black Zero event. They range from mind-readers to pyrokinetics and speedsters.
Transhumans are categorized as cyborgs, mutants, or overmen, who are genetically enhanced. Cyborgs and overmen should be exclusive to governments or powerful organizations. Mutants can be humans who were simply born different or suffered strange accidents like Manbat or Killer Croc. Transhumans are not as common as Metahumans.
Mythics are sentient creatures with powers derived from or originating from any supernatural source. If you're a sorcerer, an Amazon, an Atlantean, or anything else magical you are a mythic. Your powers should be clearly defined, magic shouldn't be a license to do everything.
If you're playing any of the DC Alien races you put your race's powers here. Mundane characters have no powers and should omit this section.
In general you should clearly define the scope of your powers here, no PC should be drastically overpowered in comparison to the rest of the Squad. If your character is significantly weaker than most of the team that's fine however.
Skills: Powered characters can have skills as well or you can just play a character with no powers and only skills. I don't want any characters who are amazing at everything. Pick two to four things your character is proficient at, and perhaps one or two they are a master of. Martial Arts, Marksmanship, Combat Tactics, Explosives, Computer tech, anything and everything they will use in this mission.
Equipment: All of your special comic book gear goes here. A powered character can have some gear and mundane characters can have a lot. I want your gear to have specifically defined uses and limits. This is where Harley's special hammer or Mr. Freeze's ice gun come in. If you pick up any nice loot and survive to the next mission, you can add it to this section of the sheet.
Weaknesses: Personality defects don't go here, this is for any special weaknesses your character has as well as any drawbacks or limits to your characters powers, skills, or equipment.
Psychological Profile: A paragraph or so on what drives your character as well as their mental state, any personality defects or special traits they have. Since most of the characters are varying shades of villainous, there should definitely be some personality defects. You should also state where your character ends up on the villain to antihero scale. They can be insane, a professional criminal, an extremist, a patriot, a vigilante, your characters should be a diverse mix of dysfunctional.
Biography: At least two paragraphs on your character's history. You can use any number of sources or different versions of the character you chose as long as their biography fits in the world that the DC live-action movies are set in. If you want to collaborate with other players on personal history between the PCs, feel free to go for it.
Special Notes: Add in any special facts you want to put that don't fit anywhere else. If you don't want to you can just cut this out.
