I'll go with what I was taught in anthropology (I don't subscribe to the particular theory, but it has its merits): Gender and gender roles are a social construct which have differences between cultures, whereas sex is a biological fact, and barring mutations, is clear-cut male or female. If one doesn't believe their gender matches with the sex they have, they're known as transgender. A transgender man would be, biologically, female, though they identify as a male. It's considered extremely rude to refer to a person by the pronoun set that they don't identify with. Some people think that everybody should ask everybody for 'their pronouns' when they meet. I think the <1% of people I might offend will be mature enough to understand that for the most part, people aren't transgender and use the pronouns that match their biological sex.

Oh I have no doubt about that. The Thane family are meant to be central figures in Caldegia's defense during the invasion. Kristoph in particular would have been one of the Commanders.

Yaaaayyyyyyy :3 My plots might make the sads be kinda more sads but maybe a little happy if you can be really optimistic. Barst's platoon basically managed to survive until near the end of the war, but the fort they lost was too important for Vinsenia to send anything less than their greatest.
