Damien stood among the massive crowd, waiting and watching as Lucina gave her speech. He'd only arrived in Ylisstol a month prior and as such wasn't particularly used to the life of a Shepard just yet. The speech was typical, something a general would routinely give to their troops to maintain morale in the face of overwhelming odds. Which was the exact situation the group was in now. Of course, so long as Lucina and her brother Xavier lived, there would always be hope that Grima could be destroyed, but that hope was but a distant star to many. However, with multiple teams searching for the Fire Emblem's gems, Damien hoped that it would only be a matter of time before they could at least make a solid step in the right direction. To many, this speech might seem like a callous pick-me-up attempt from their Exalt, but to Damien it was a woman's genuine attempt to keep the people's hopes alive. And for him, that was enough.

When Xavier took over for Lucina, Damien couldn't help but smirk a bit. The man was clearly nervous about giving this type of speech, but Damien couldn't blame him. Even all the training in the world could do nothing to prepare you for delivering a grand speech to a great horde of people. He himself had only done so once, and was blessed to have had a podium and prepared script from which to read while making his speech. The fact that Xavier had managed to make such a speech was impressive. The man had already earned his begrudging respect for his skills with both tome and blade, but with a little refinement, he could make an excellent Exalt should Lucina befall the same fate Chrom had...

The idea of joining a special group, lead by Lucina and Xavier, made Damien's heart beat like a drum. This was what he'd been waiting for, why he'd come so far to join these people in their fight. The legends of their father were magnificent themselves, but he had high hopes that Lucina and Xavier would forge their own brilliant tale...and that Damien had a place in it. Stepping aside from the crowd, Damien wormed his way through some people and attempted to follow after Xavier. When he reached the Castle's gates, the guards asked for his business. "Well, I would speak with milord Xavier in regards to the mission he just spoke about. I would like to volunteer myself for the war effort."

Yeah, you might be right, actually. It certainly wouldn't be impossible for this Damien to exist, but the odds are pretty stacked.
I'll make him Valmese. Might even fit the personality I have a bit better, knowing some lordly folks (Virion, I'm lookin' at you!)

Well, as for his motivation for joining Lucina, he figured that joining someone who was against his main enemy, Validar (and by extension Grima), would be his best bet. The enemy of my enemy and all that. Validar never paid him much attention, since he figured that even if he fought back, it wouldn't matter because Grima would have been resurrected (and was) long before Damien was old enough to fight, and once Grima WAS resurrected, nothing would stop him.
As for surviving, he traveled quickly and fought off anybody who'd try to stop him, namely risen. He's not terrible in a fight, after all, and being raised in Plegia is certainly good for the constitution.

Personality: Damien is a bit of a broken soul, having grown up in a recovering Valmese province. He carries a selfish, proud streak off of the field of battle, but when in combat, be it true combat or sparring, he lets skill do the talking. Anybody capable of besting him in a swordfight he will give his respect to without question, and it is a good way to secure his loyalty. He may come off as a womanizer to some who first deal with him, but he's truly a wounded soul looking for somebody to protect him. His father was never particularly kind to him, and left him to be raised by servants who were more or less apathetic to his emotional growth.

Bio: Born to a maiden of a Valmese lord, Damien was handed over to wetnurses for most of his childhood. His wetnurse was a loving woman, but knowing that she wasn't his real mother left Damien a bit empty inside over the years. He understood the burden his father was under, but he wished that he had a little time for him. Damien was raised as a proper lord, though certain unsavory tastes did make their way into his mind, leaving him with a bit of a wild streak that aggravated those around him on a frequent basis. However, as the first, and currently only, of his father, nobody dared give up on molding him into a proper gentleman. Damien was unrivaled among his peers as a fencer, and wished that he could have rivaled "that Ylissean girl, Lucina, to show her what a real swordsman is made of."

Damien didn't truly have any friends growing up, due in no small part to the circumstances of his birth. His father never did marry, and that left him to be seen as the bastard child he was among his equals. Although he was given respect for his skills, few people treated him as an equal. To most, he was a nobleman regardless of his single father, but to nobility, he was little better than a peasant that would have to be granted his father's vassal-ship, unless something...terrible were to happen. Several attempts were made on Damien's life while he was growing up, though most amounted to little more than a two-bit mercenary failing a nigh-impossible job that they couldn't have refused.

After overhearing about the real state of the world, Damien decided that enough was enough. He wasn't particularly fond life in the castle anyway, so he enlisted the help of one of his servants to fake his death. After pulling off the deceit, Damien made his escape to Ylisse to enlist to fight alongside Lucina, taking along a pendant that he hides proving his highborn Valmese blood. Ultimately, his plan is to liberate the world from Grima and retake the land that belongs to him back home in Valm, across the vast ocean.

Quirks: He's often too formal, and sometimes switches between formal and informal speech when with many people.

Strengths: Swordfighting (he's about as accurate as a sniper, translating to high skill), socializing with others, formally addressing those who command such respect, and dealing with his enemies.

Weaknesses: Dealing with actual friends, he has few outstanding abilities as far as combat goes, other than his accuracy. If he's not the first to hit, he can be easily overwhelmed by a single blow, leaving him crippled.

Likes: Meat, meat, meat! Women who are easy on the eyes, potatoes, sarcastic jokes and puns, as well as humor in general.

Dislikes: Non-green vegetables, expressing his emotions to others.

Weapons: Rapier, Iron sword

SOPHOS

Name: Sophos Ailred

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Sophos' robes are a much brighter blue, however. Almost like you'd see in a children's book. He stands at around 6' tall, and is a light 150 pounds.

Age: 62

Race: Terminian Human

Skills: Alchemy, Knowledge of lore.

Magic Abilities: Time Magic, near mastery. Sophos is incapable of creating stable portals as of now, however. His most successful attempt managed to last about three seconds before collapsing violently on itself.

Weapons: N/A

Inventory: Alchemical reagents, a satchel to carry them in, a book with every recipe he's ever used (Caboose it did other stuffff but I forget T.T) a magical floating chair, and a wand to help focus his magic with.

Bio: Sophos grew up in Termina, in Clock Town, and had an uneventful life until his marriage. He made a living by working in the town's library, and creating potions for people on the side, although he never charged much more than what one would need for ingredients. They had two children, but when Sophos was on a trip on day, a man broke into the house, killed his children, and impregnated his wife. Sophos saw the man when he returned, but out of concern for his family, he did not make chase. Unable to suffer the thought of bearing another man's child, his wife ran off into the mountains, giving birth to the boy in her last moments. The son was adopted and raised, his existence unknown to Sophos until much later in his life, and vice versa. After his wife and children's deaths, Sophos became a bit more reclusive, but still offered his services to those around him.

Nearly a decade later, while he was travelling to Hyrule for ingredients, he encountered the man who'd murdered his family. Rather than killing him, he alerted the guards, who arrested him promptly. At his execution, Sophos stood silently as the man returned the populace's insults, claiming that only Sophos had a right to kill him. After the execution, Sophos found a bit of closure, but he was still much of a loner, spending his time with books and alchemical ingredients.

Now, his mental state can be described as fragile at best, and traumatic events have recently set him into manic states of dementia and a loss of reality.

I haven't heard from Lenaya either and don't know how to contact here sadly :(Also I was able to retrieve mostly everything from a cache of the old site. The only thing I couldn't was my new and improve Demoko which made me really sad because I can't remember everything from his CS that I wrote.Anyhow I believe most of you should be able to retrieve your CS's from the old site via cache as well. You just have to get the right page to come up In google search and then look at the cache version of it.

Still trying to find a cache with Sophos on it. Gaios I could try to recreate, but if I can avoid the work I'd love to.
