Definitely interesting...
^Agreed. A good mech RP is something I've wanted for a while, and this seems like it might be the prophesized one.
VERY interesting. I like the looks of this. Will probably start working on a CS. Just a question, though: is race-mixing an option? Namely a Drae/Lunari hybrid?
Gaios's shoulder tensed a bit as General Onyx patted his shoulder, but he was just glad that the mammoth of a man didn't accidentally tear his arm off.It was certainly a possibility. "If it is the will of Father Thallus, I suppose it is not our place to question his judgement or his methods. Especially since this group has caused us so much trouble. Yes...I suppose it is for the best that they are dealt with in the most efficient way possible." He was relieved that General Onyx didn't like the idea of using explosives either, but it was true that neither of them could do anything about the order. This group was far too dangerous to pull any punches against. They had to be fought with full force if there was any hope to stop them. However, at the same time he wondered exactly what this group was planning. Were they trying to kill Father Thallus? It was a logical goal, but Thallus would be guarded by the greatest Templar Knights....unless a good portion of them died trying to defend a bridge in the desert.

While there was no way for them to have known they would be ambushed here, Gaios felt his blood chill. He couldn't help but swallow back some spit as fear of the upcoming fight grew inside his chest. He knew for a fact that there was at least one significantly powerful mage among them, if not more. The portal they created, as well as the mysterious bursts of arcane energy that killed many aerial knights, meant that there were likely more than a few, and some were skilled in Time and Space magic, perhaps one of the most deadly kinds, if only for the user's ability to manipulate reality at their will. And one of them was Sophos. Sophos...Sophos....what do I do...? Can I really kill you...?
Gaios's CS updated. Should post tomorrow now that I can actually DO things instead of being swarmed by class stuff.
Thankfully, Katherine was willing to oblige his request. "Well...I wish I could, to be perfectly honest. I am aware of a good portion of our land's history, and culture, up until the Reawakening of Grima, but...beyond that, I know little more than small gossips and rumors of political trouble. My teachings were...incomplete when I left home. I wish to perhaps learn how to be a proper nobleman from the Exalt and her brother." Bowing his head gently, he returned her smile. At least she was trying. Whether or not she was interested in Valm was of little consequence. Still, he could try to offer something that he'd learned.

"Actually, there are a few things I do know. Most of our people worship Naga, much like the denizens of Ylisse. The continent, as well as a small, small country that Walhart the Conqueror hailed from before his death, are named for the ancient hero Alm. Not unlike your continent, Valm is split into a number of countries. However, ours are typically much smaller than those on this side of the ocean. The country I was to take would be less than the size of Plegia. It's a nice region, with many kind people. In the wake of what's been happening, our people have decided that sticking together is our only chance of survival."
Not sure how long this will take because of tests and labs and stuff, but I shall begin Gaios's CS now.

Name: Gaios (Occasionally referred to as "The Fatherless" by other Templars.)

Gender: Male

Appearance:

He stands at about 6'1", and weighs around 200 pounds.

Age: 32

Race: Terminian Human

Skills: Excellent swordfighter, great with his magic, not much else: he's bred for combat.

Magic Abilities: Earth magic. Gaios uses it in a bit of an unorthodox manner, electing to use platforms and discs of earth to move and attack rapidly while evading being hit rather than tanking attacks, although his elemental affinity still makes him extremely durable.

Weapons:

Inventory: A red potion

Bio: Found almost frozen to death by a pair of mountain-dwelling folks, Gaios was raised under the name of Lucidon, learning how to make a living in the mountains, mainly through hunting. When he was little older than 12, his magical abilities manifested themselves, and his parents made the decision to send him to Castle Town in Hyrule for training. He learned under a charitable master who fed, sheltered and taught him so long as he made himself of use. At first, Lucidon joined the Hylian Guard when he became an adult, quickly earning favor among the locals for his kindness towards them.

When the Templars came around, Lucidon was quick to jump ship and join them. His talents were quickly recognized, and he was brought into the elite echelon of Earth Knights. As time passed, the Templars became more influential, and he was seen as a calming presence when he was in Castle Town. However, one day when he was chatting with locals, he overheard talk about an old man who frequented the area, by the name of Sophos Ailred. For some reason, Lucidon couldn't help but listen to his story. After learning of the fate of Sophos's wife, he was stunned that something so horrible had happened to somebody so kind and beloved by people he rarely even met. Hearing about the killer's execution did little to assuage the pity and grief he felt for Sophos. This man had had everything he loved ripped from him, and yet he continued to make the long journey to Hyrule for his service to the residents of Clock Town.

Soon, Lucidon was a touch obsessed with Sophos and his story. He'd listen to what anybody had to say, and even managed to collect a group of pictographs of Sophos, his family, and the man who destroyed all that. And then he looked in a mirror, changing his life. When he compared the photos, along with the timeline of the events, the similarities were too great to be coincidence. He'd known he was found as a child, rather than born to his parents. It bothered him little, as they still raised him lovingly. But now he knew something that shocked him: he was a child unwanted, burden to his mother and product of a heinous crime. With this news, he rechristened himself as Gaios, refusing to accept his biological father. To him, Sophos was more of a father than the man who sired him. He never blamed himself for any of what happened, but the revelation certainly didn't help his obsession with Sophos, who he'd learned was also a worshiper of the Goddesses in Termina.

When Thallus began his heretic hunt, Gaios used his influence and ability to join a task force specifically made to hunting down heretics to the One God. After discovering that Sophos was travelling with a group of heretics fighting against the Templars, Gaios's obsession lead him to an impasse. Would he betray the Order, or his birthmother's husband, the man he'd spent so long learning so much about?
It is. He edited it into the first post at the bottom, hidden by a hidery thing.
Damien smiled and shook his head at Adalbert. "Nonsense, nonsense, it was nothing. You merely misplaced your money pouch, correct? What kind of man would I be if I'd let a fellow...soldier...gods man, what are you-NO DON'T TAKE IT OUT!!!" He burst into a shout when Adalbert removed the piece of glass from his arm, watching the blood pour out of the wound. Before he could even respond, Katherine had arrived and the cavalier was asking for her help with his wound. Sighing in relief, he almost dropped to the ground when Adalbert was healed, but decided against it for a multitude of reasons. When Katherine curtsied for him, he turned his head to the side, hiding a blush and bowing in return.

"It's no matter, young lady. There was a much more pressing matter on hand. Besides, from the look of things, would I be correct in presuming you are under Ylisse's employ as a healer? It would hardly behoove me to act presumptuous among my allies. I've already made myself look a fool once today, I've no need to do it again by acting above my station. Lord Xavier and Her Highness Lucina are the true lords here. Besides, we are far from Valm, there is no need." In truth, Damien was trying to push off her behavior for one simple reason: he was damned sick of it. 'Milord' this, and 'Milord' that. Always said mockingly by his peers, even by servants at times. He knew that the young lady meant no offense by it, and he bore her no ill will, but he couldn't help but do his damnedest to leave that title aside for the time being.
Name: Damien
Age: 23
Sex: Male

Appearance: In armor:
General appearance:
Damien stands at about 6'1", and weighs 210 pounds. He also keeps his hair much shorter than in the image, never letting it pass his eyebrows in length, and usually keeping it above the midpoint of his forehead.

Personality: Damien is a kind-hearted person, willing to stick his neck or his heart out for those around him. He's generally easy to get along with, and likes to crack jokes, but he also knows when to get serious. When it comes to battle, he's merciful, but as a mercenary he understands that a job is a job and sometimes, people just gotta die.

Backstory: Damien received a general education until he was 15, after which he was personally taught by his father, a freelance mercenary. His father taught him how to fight, how to shoot, and most importantly, how to take care of weapons. While he's certainly no expert in making or maintaining weaponry, he can keep one battle-ready for a very long time before having to replace parts or see a professional.

After a few years learning with his father, the pair started working together on missions. While Damien started off on less dangerous missions, eventually his father trusted him enough to let him come on every job he took. As a pair, they were efficient, and Damien always worked for reduced pay compared to the standard as incentive for them to be hired over others looking for a job. Besides, between the two of them, Damien and his father made more than enough to support his mother and younger brother. Unlike Damien, his brother was a scholar, and even at 21, he still studies in a University, hoping to become a surgeon.

When he turned 23, Damien bid his father farewell and made his way on his own, picking up a job or two before moving on from where he would stay, growing ever closer to his goal: joining Galdexia, the Mercenary's Guild.

Equipment: Bayonet Rifle: Fires 6.68x43mm rifle rounds, kept on a sling when not in use.
Gladius: Simple 30-inch gladius, strapped to his left hip.
Revolver: A .357 caliber magnum revolver, strapped to his right hip.

Talisman: Angel's Amulet
-Abilities: The Angel's Amulet bestows a simple but useful power upon Damien: regeneration of wounds at will, and a passive immunity from scarring. While it seems to be a powerful item, it is not omnipotent: if a limb, or even a hand, were severed, the amulet would heal the stump if asked, rather than reattach the limb, unless the severed limb were perfectly set in place. Even then, the action is not instantaneous: even healing a minor scrape can take a few seconds. Reattaching a limb would likely result in an extremely uncomfortable period where the bone and blood vessels were slowly healing together, while the skin was perfectly attached as if nothing had happened. For this reason, the Amulet is more suited to heal minor wounds that would otherwise overwhelm Damien as time continued, rather than protect him from killing blows.

-Backstory: Damien was presented the Angel's Amulet when he was 20, working with his father. They had been hired to protect a shipment of goods from an area in the slums to the noble regions of the city. As it turned out, the shipment held a number of unbound Talismans being kept in a warehouse, on their way up to be bought by nobles or otherwise studied by scientists or professors with particular interest in the amulets. Why Damien and his father were chosen for such an important job escaped him until he met the client he was providing: his brother's professor. As it turned out, the professor had mentioned the job to Damien's brother, who told him where he and his father could be found. After the successful completion of the job, Damien was rewarded the amulet. He was shocked at the payment, but when the professor explained who he was, Damien understood and told the man to thank his brother.
