[Dalton Attwater, Foyer, Tohsaka Mansion]

As the light faded and the figure in front of him came into view, Dalton slowly nodded. "Assassin, eh? Yeah, yeah I can see that working. It's how I've preferred to operate in the past. Quick strikes, stay hidden until absolutely necessary. Anyway, name's Dalton. Dalton Attwater, and I suppose I'll be your Master for now." Holding out his hand, Dalton continued. "Now, I'm not too keen to go out and get myself killed just yet. I'd like to take a few days to do recon, learn of our enemies and their abilities before we move to strike. I have a goal here, but you might not like it. I'm not trying to win this war, though that would probably be the easiest way for me to make sure my objective is taken care of."

"I'm here to make sure this war goes off without causing a fuss. Keep things quiet. We may have to stick our necks out to cover up other Masters' activities once or twice, but it's no good to anybody if this thing gets found out. It's not the easiest goal, but I have a job to do. A lot is riding on this for me. I need to survive this thing. I have a duty to the Mages' Association and my family to get back safe, and get back without blowing this whole thing. I'll need your help for that. Can I count on you to help me?" He knew what he was asking was quite a lot given the circumstances, and it was quite an unusual introduction, but he hoped that would be enough to ensure that he had Assassin's loyalty.

Now was about time. Waiting any longer would just be wasting time. Taking a deep breath, he started the incantation. It was a good thing he could go through these quickly, because every second counted. If somebody showed up mid-summon, he'd be in deep trouble.

"The alighted wind becomes a wall. The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate.
Shut. Shut. Shut. Shut. Shut.
Repeat every five times.
Simply, shatter once filled.
――――I announce.
Your self is under me, my fate is in your sword.
In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.
Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good of the world of the dead, I am the one who lays out all the evil of the world of the dead.
You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence, O keeper of the balance ―――!"

This was it. Now to see who he'd be working with until this battle was over. The light was nearly blinding, but that was alright.

I don't want to steal Sho's place. I thought they were gone! Now I feel guilty... damn.

Nah, you replaced itano. He's been gone for....like, 2-3 weeks. Sho's the other one. The J in AEJS. You replaced the old S.

This was it. Dropping the bag he'd been carrying over his shoulder to the ground, Dalton pulled a small bird out of it first, then another, and then several more. Drawing one of his dozen knives, he smiled as his Magic Circuits activated. It was nearly time for him to find out how the rest of this war would go. His Servant was a massive part of that, both its class and its identity.

Cutting into one of the birds, Dalton slowly spread its blood on the ground, mimicking the summoning circle that he'd spent so long memorizing at the behest of the Association. His job here was the same as it had been years ago: ensure that the secret of magecraft remained a secret. Of course, in a city where seven magi with impossibly powerful Servants would be fighting, the stakes were as high as they had ever been. Perhaps it would have been easier to immediately go to the Church and seek out whomever it was that represented them here. It likely would have been for anybody else, even another Enforcer. But his extended presence would only be seen as an insult.

To be fair, it was. Why else would the Association officially send somebody to ensure the ritual remained undetected, than as a show of distrust in the Church? What had happened ten years ago was easily explainable, but the catastrophe could easily have been much worse, or much more noticeable. Fires happened all the time. Inexplicable craters with hundreds of corpses did not.

Breaking his rumination, Dalton returned to the messy work of making the circle. The sooner his Servant was summoned, the better.

After a slow march across the city, Dalton finally came across his prize: the Tohsaka Mansion. One of the families to create this...ritual...had vanished along with the others, after the last War resulted in a major catastrophe. Perhaps their consciences had gotten to them. Perhaps the Association had hunted them down, or the Church. It didn't matter now. Slowly approaching the door, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his trusty lockpicks. The door had been locked magically, but he nullified that quickly enough, which just left the physical mechanism. After a minute or two of testing the mechanism, he went to work. The lock was actually rather simple, but it was to be expected of such an old lock.

Of course, he made sure to re-lock the door both physically and magically, in case anybody else felt like coming here. They'd at least have to take a little time, and hopefully that would alert him to their presence. Looking around, Dalton smiled at how decrepit the place looked after nearly ten years of abandonment. Well, it could have been worse, he supposed. The place was fine for summoning his servant, anyway.

Am I the only one that's slightly bothered by the fact RWBY's OSTs seem to give more insight into characters than the actual show does?

No. No, you are not.

Also, Team AEJS assemble! What classes we takin?
Lovely team mates...do...do a thing. Talk. Something. Pls.
Auriel turned to the new arrival at the door when he heard it open, surprised. When his last team mate introduced herself, he nodded and smiled at her, giving her a quick once-over. Faunus girl, some kind of cat, perhaps a bit younger than him. She seemed nervous-very much so. He couldn't blame her much: young girl, only girl in a team of four, meeting her new team mates for the first time. He firmly took her offered hand and offered two shakes, quick and powerful, before letting her hand go. "Don't worry about it. We had a rough time ourselves. I used...pretty much all of my Aura, but I was lucky to get out without more than a few cuts and bruises."

Looking back at the rest of the team, he nodded slowly. Maybe this would work. They had range, power, and speed already, and this unknown addition added a useful factor: the unique abilities of a Faunus. Night-vision, heightened senses, along with the benefits that their animal side brought with it. "Nice to meet you, Sasha. I'm Auriel, Team AEJS's leader. Behind me are Emlyn and Jack. That's an interesting weapon you got there. What is it, a spear? Anything else it can do?" One thing the team lacked was versatility. Auriel and Emlyn's weapons had some alternate features, but they were hardly blunderbuss axes or rocket bats.

Yep. Season 2 Episode 6 around the 04:20 minute mark. She admits her and Ren aren't together.SO TAKE THAT, SHIPPERS! -Gunshot-

The awkwardness of everybody involved clearly fits the trope of them DESPERATELY wanting it, especially on the side of Nora. But considering that Monty doesn't seem to want romance to be a massive thing IIRC, it might get pushed to the backburner.
