That could work as well. Realistically, all we’d need to do is forcefully keep the mechanism stable while it puts out to such a degree. And mind our power supply for the ship, of course.

Ah, you’re worried about the soul moving on once the storm dissipates. I understand that concern as well, but we can contain the storm in a magical device designed to contain souls after that event, then figure out where to proceed from there.
