@ArthanusI was planning to wait for your post first before saying good bye but it's fine. Yes this was my first experiance with forum roleplaying and while I enjoyed how it works, it takes a bit more time and concentration then I have to spare in my world. So instead of holding everyone up waiting for the time to constructed a post, I'm calling it quits. It was fun, thanks folks.
From behind cover Macklyn gave his twin guns a twirl before he stood and opened fire into the crowd of swarmers. This was too small a room for this many targets and his fancy tricks weren't going to help much in this situation. He placed simple shots where necessary and missed very few shots.

The Raiders were effective at dispatching the Swarmers and avoiding the Slashers reach, for the most part. Macklyn assumed this was out of motivation inspired from their fallen comrades, but as the number of swarmers got smaller and smaller the presence of the Slasher became all the more evident. With the room to move the Slasher raged through the room with fury and more raiders fell. Silas and Macklyn fought back to back removing the remaining Swarmers until all that remained of their opponents were Myra, a few of her crew and the terrifying presence of the Slasher.

It raveged through the room but as the cafeteria wasn't very large it was clear that the Slasher was too large to comfortably navigate the area. Macklyn and the others riddled the creature with holes while avoiding its reach as best they could. At one point a small slip on a dinner tray caused Macklyn to fall to his back and just before the Slashers arm slammed down onto him Macklyn managed to roll away, narrowly dodging the claw. It was then when he had noticed the gas line supplying a furnace along the wall. He quickly grabbed hold of it, cut off the supply lever, ripped the extended connection from the furnace, aimed at the Slasher as it rapidly approached Silas, opened the supply lever and ignited the gas line with the hammer spark of his gun.

BOOM

A massive plume of fire gusted out onto the Slasher causing it to writhe in agony. Macklyn quickly shut the supply lever before the oxygen rich artificial atmosphere caused a bigger problem than the Slasher itself.

Weakend by its encompassing burns, everyone in the room reloaded and unloaded into the beast until it slowed to a stop and collapsed. Everyone in the room took a deep burnt flesh smelling breath of relief. In the moments after, there was a quiet in the room and everyone took a moment to recollect themselves.

The silence was broken by a small click as Macklyn pressed the barrel of Ebony against the back of Silas's head.

Standing before Silas, Myra presented a confident grin and raised her gun towards him. "Almost all of my away crew fallen, and it was worth it to finally catch you with your pants down"

"Poor big boss man, all them years and a 'rookie' got the jump on ya?" Macklyn said in a condescending tone. "It aint personal, Myra's just got a lot more money then you and I've got coffers to fill back home. Shame I gotta kill ya though Cap'n. I spose on some level I started to like ya. Even when ya thought I blew up that asteroid on accident ya gave me a pep talk.

See, Myra knew you'd be first to find this derelict. What did you call it Myra? A frustrating amount of luck? This ship was a flame and you're the moth. so I joined your crew to help her find you, for a substantial fee of course. Soon as that famous luck of yours came to, I'd send the signal"

"A massive exploding asteroid is hard to miss" Myra added.

"It's unfortunate you lack the funding for my loyalty, I don't imagine I'll enjoy spilling your blood on this garbage heap of a ship. See ya in the next life Cap'n" Macklyn began to squeeze his trigger...

Macklyn spent much of his time following Silas through the Belrog preoccupied with over analysing his every move up to this point until the tension was broken "Hey Rookie, hold up for a second" SIlas spoke, and delivered a speech Macklyn wasn't expecting.

Macklyn was taken back but his boss's words. Considered them for a moment and spoke "Ya know... Here I thought you'd be hangin' me to dry with some cold, how to do... That's sayin' I expected what I deserve. So I s'pose I owe you a thanks for not bitin' my head off. But I did make a mistake back there and I'm not one to go lettin' myself off my own hook. But thank you boss man, none the less. I ain't used to thinkin' as a part of a whole. Been fending for myself for so long now my wirin' is stubborn I guess. But I'll consider your words and again I thank you for them."

"Alright now lets get the power back on, lets split up and see what we can do."

Silas headed off to check the Aux Power Generators so Macklyn made for the Primary. He had to hunt for a little while before he found the right room because, frankly, he's never been in a ship quite this size. The layout was logical to Macklyn but it took working out. It wasn't long until he found himself in the primary generator room and oddly enough, it was simply powered down. He hit the big red button and it powered up!

"Well that was easy!"

Silas, shortly after, entered the room "Good Job Macklyn, but now the real fun will start." Silas said as he approached, "Lets see if we can learn anything," and headed to the main computer to begin digging for information. It wasn't long until Silas's expression turned from inquisitiveness to concern. Macklyn thought he had heard something faint but chocked it up to a derelict creeking ship. He watched as Silas began to read quicker and quicker and with a certain sense of discomfort. Macklyn stammered a foot back and Silas shot his gaze up from the screen "Be on guard, everyone! Looks like we have a Hi- Get Down!"

Silas tackled Macklyn to the ground and there before them Macklyn laid eyes on a hideous creature that actually managed to get the jump on him. Silas quickly dispatched the creature as Macklyn jumped to his feet.

They were surrounded by more. Macklyn calmed his nerves and Silas chimmed in "Remember what I said earlier, forget it, trust your guns and start shooting!"

Macklyn had never seen Hive before and he was certainly startled but he had seen a lot of weirdness on the raggedy edge of civilized space. As the swarmers approached he took a quick and detailed study of their movements and like clockwork a plan for a next few moments materialized as if every instant forthcoming was decided by anticipated muscle memory. Two swarmers charged the hall upon the floor, one scattered the ceiling and one seemed to prepare to leap. His momentary study didn't distract from his instinct to draw his custom weapons. Runes aglow, Macklyn swung Ebony wide and low and upward with his left arm as he fired it. The oversized bullet beautifully arched down towards the floor but curved upwards, up through the head of a swarmer on the ground, killing it instantly, clean through, and slamming the backside of the swarmer clawing across the ceiling ausing it to fall from its position.

Continuing his spinning motion and before the falling swarmer hit the ground, Macklyn lined Ivory down the room and fired. The precision shot cut the falling Swarmer right through and slammed down the throat of another charging from behind it when Macklyn noticed the leaping Swarmer was airborn. With an unnecessary twirl of Ebony, Macklyn closed one eye, tilted his head and took his final shot out of his black firearm. The leaping swarmers momentum was dead stopped by the impact of Ebony's projectile and it fell straight down from the peak of its leap.

Four dead creatures with three bullets fired. Macklyn was proud and gestured to Silas a thumbs up when he noticed Silas has dispatched the others.

Silas unceremoniously reestablished contact with the rest of the crew and informed them of what he learned from the records. Macklyn stood by and listened as Sven explained the situation in the hanger. Silas asked how his crew thought they should proceed and Macklyn didn't disagree with the majority vote to blow the place and the hive with it, even though the promise of a big profit was hard to ignore, Macklyn was trying to grow past what once made him weak.

Steeling his resolve, he elected to act as back up for Silas for the time being, following his lead and providing well placed bullets if the situation called for it.
@ShiningSectorI'm definitely not throwing my towel in just yet but this is my first experiance with a forum RP and I'm finding that my personal life (free time) isn't necessarily compatable with this type of game. When work is slow I've been able to post from my phone but we've been quite busy. At home, I've got a 1 year old... nuff said there. Haha but I'm trying to keep up with the reading while I can so i can post up.
@CaptainSully Gaz navigating in zero G had me crying dude. Hilarious. You paint a vivid picture my friend. Gaz is amazing.

@Tilly pretty damn good formatting for being done on your phone. I've been doing a lot of this writing on my phone too.
I've had an extraordinarily busy weekend... will get some time in early this week
@Arthanus Should be a more appropriate wrapping up of my post for ya. Let me know.
@Arthanus Ah, I wasn't sure how to proceed since Sven chimed in before Macklyn could respond the Silas's question. I will make something of it when I get a chance.
