Okay then. Should be safe now.

Oh?

But, they won't be ready to adapt. The allure of MR is, in the end, how different it is. On the old Guild, I joined a lot of RPs with unique ideas, including MR, but they were all too normal for me--except for the one that was different. Now, most other people will be looking for normal RPs, in their comfort zones, with more unique ideas--and people are all too willing to sacrifice cool stuff when it's too hard. I think that MR will be just another normal RP with a unique idea for them, and when it comes time to switch, they just won't be ready for it.

This is to help them adapt though. To help them see. Once these people get to actually see the greatness of MR is to show it to them a little at a time.

<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

We haven't tried the interest check yet.

But an interest check won't expand MR as far put as we talked before. At least, as far as I was interpreting us to be discussing.

<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

I don't understand the point or difference here. Why make a spinoff and what's different other than the third-person?

To appeal to others and try to get them to enjoy the experience like we all do, but not throwing it all at them at once.

<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

Also, the way you worded it makes it sound like it's giving up on MR and making a sequel. New members, characters, stories, and settings means a new thing altogether. Especially if not everyone in MR goes to this new one.

I see where you're coming from with that. I'll work something out. Thanks for the feedback.

<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

But we're not desperate for more people, now. We're not going to scrape members off the walls, because we'll only get sawdust. We're looking for the best and brightest--the people who we know want to adapt. We want people who know how to understand, and it's hard to find that in all the people that just play descriptive roleplays. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I wouldn't want people who came just because they liked the idea. I want people who come because they want the challenge.

I'm not doing this out of desperation. I thought I mentioned that the last time I brought this up.
<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

But they won't need more. You'd have to shut it down halfway through and say "Want more? Join the original" just like a game demo. Otherwise, they'll stay on that one.

But you won't know that unless you try. As we've already seen, MR is not going to get as large as we want unless we go get people. And I'm willing to take every avenue we can to attempt help us grow.
<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

But it won't; it will attract people who are interested in third person, descriptive roleplaying. The elements won't be familiar to anyone but you, either.

It will attract people who want the norm, yes, but that's the bait on the hook, if you will. If the people who join come to love the world of MR itself to the point that they want more of it, then I'd say it'll be much easier then to get people to join us and stay.
<Snipped quote by Webmaster>

He just hasn't written anything there yet. =P

They actually were messed up to begin with, but I don't think you saw them in time. :P

<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

But why make it an MR spinoff instead of something new altogether?

It basically is, but with a few familiar elements that will probably make it easier for people to get into the groove. Plus, if this ends up turning people to this thread, then they'll already have some level of familiarity with some things.
@Nemeses
Your hiders are messed up.

Not anymore. I fixed 'em.
So I created somewhat of a rough draft for that spinoff RP of MR I was talking about, and I'm going to post it here, but I feel as though there are people here who could do the first to sections better than I could. I came to ask for help. I also created some things as I went to offer a larger variety of thingsfor people to work with, since I (obviously) didn't want to steal anything from any of you.

Myriad Reality

Many of you may be familiar with the name. If you spend even just a little bit of time on the home page of this site, you may have seen the name in the Free Section's most recent post section. Myriad Reality is traditionally an open world sandbox RP that takes place in Existence, or simply the multiverse. It is also traditionally a speed posting RP that focuses more on interaction between characters than detail.

But why share all that with you? Well, I'm just giving you an origin story. My interest is to begin a spinoff RP here in Casual, with brand new members, characters, stories and settings. As such, we will be dropping our traditional format and adopting a third person narrative format.

Myriad Reality is designed to be very complex. Here, despite the presence of a GM, everyone is allowed to create and run their own arcs, and they can do it simultaneously to another person's arc. That is part of the freedom this RP allows. The only rules are your basic "no Godmodding, yadda yadda" and no breaking off from what is accepted as laws of physics in this RP.

So, in short, create whatever kind of character you want. Magical pixie, modern jarhead, sci-fi detective, canon character from a fictional work- you name it! Be who you want to be, and don't be afraid to create as many characters as you want!

Hey guys, Tox won't be back for about three months. He's in military training right now, and phones aren't allowed.

Gersh norbet.
<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

Yet, he is an enemy to us.

Not for much longer. A few more days, a week at the most.he'll be an ally for far longer after that.
<Snipped quote by Nemeses>

Why is that?

He carries a good portion of the Alliance's weight when it is weak, much like it was before Lewis was in charge.
